BTS - Rooftop Air Conditioners

DOE and Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) issued a competitive RFP on behalf of the Federal government and other large buyers for rooftop air conditioners. Click here to access further information on the procurement. The RFP focused on unitary rooftop air conditioning products in the 65,000 to 135,000 Btu/h cooling capacity range that minimize life-cycle costs, estimated from manufacturers' performance data using a cost estimator tool developed by PNNL. Winners were selected based on their low cost ownership, taking into account both initial price and annual energy assumptions. Buyers are able to order winning units through a basic ordering agreement (PDF 37 KB) specifying prices, warranties, and other terms. Products are available to purchasers in the 48 contiguous U.S. states.
