Concerted EffortSilverman Helps a fan whose concert experience wasn't music to her ears.
Lucy Anastasio couldn’t wait to see heartthrob Enrique Iglesias in concert at the A.C.C. on March 11, 2002. Problem is, that’s all she ended up doing. Equipment failure meant at least 1,500 people sitting in the 300 section couldn’t hear anything that was happening on stage. Lucy was bitterly disappointed, until she heard about a make-up concert for those affected by the outage. Excited, she called the Air Canada Centre to find out how to get tickets to the show, which was scheduled to take place in just a few days. But even after she faxed in her tickets as proof, the only music she heard was the sounds of silence. Unhappy, she hoped Silverman Helps would be her hero. We contacted the A.C.C., where head honcho Robert Hunter admitted Lucy “simply fell through the cracks.?Fortunately, there was still time to seal those ‘cracks? and Lucy received her tickets in time to see the second performance. She said it was one of the best she ever heard. And this time, she at least was able to. |
