Extremely Helpful Book Hi Everyone,
In brief, this diet works! Having tipped the scale at 216 lbs., I was determined to go on a diet, yet knew very little about where to begin. There are so many diet books out there, you know? Anyway, I spent probably the better part of an hour or so a day for a week reading book reviews on amazon.com to narrow the list of potential diets down to a few. The diet I was looking for had to make sense to me, but more importantly, had to be relatively easy for me to fit into my work schedule.
I had FSD on the top of my list and decided to buy it and try it. I spent 2 days reading the book cover to cover, then read it again one more time, highlighting certain pages, and text throughout the book. I consulted with my wife who helped me plan out meals each week and who basically kept me on track throughout the three weeks. Now, this was late August when I went on the diet, and I can honestly say the first week was intense because my caloric intake was significantly reduced, but by the third day I adjusted pretty good. Keep in mind that before I started the FSD, my morning routine consisted of grabbing a pack of pop-tarts and cup of coffee and eating that for breakfast on the drive in to work. Maybe have General Tsao's chicken and fried rice for lunch, then come home and snack and eat a big dinner. The calories slowly added up over time.
Basically, my body needed an extreme change to my diet and this diet fit me very well. After week one, I had lost 5 lbs. At week 2 I was psyched about seeing how well I'd do at the end of the week. I had also memorized the weekly meal plans at this point and no longer needed to reference the book to see what I could eat and when ... I simply knew what I could and couldn't eat. I was on cruise control at week two. By the end of the 2nd week I had lost another 5 lbs. Same results for the third week: I lost another 5 lbs. FIFTEEN lbs in 3 weeks is a lot!! In all, I've lost 26 lbs., to date of mostly fat. Spare tire fat. Not water, but actual fat. I went from a 36 to a 33 waist, and don't even consider myself on the FSD anymore. I think I've basically gone through a lifestyle change and pay much more attention to what's on food labels. Low fat, or I'm not eating it. I eat lots of different protein, too, but in sensible portions. Other diets out there tell you that you can eat unlimited meats and cheeses, but come on! That's never going to work. You have to restrict calorie intake. Four oz of chicken at lunch is plenty. You don't need to eat half a rotisserie chicken at one meal, that's crazy. After you go through a 3-week cycle on this diet you will simply not eat foods high in fat grams, and will use sensible portion control.
As far as exercise, I walk with the family at night and on the weekends but could really do more, and lose more, if I started some kind of workout routine like swimming or roller blading. The problem there is by the time I get home I want to spend QT with the wife and kids rather than grabbing my gear and heading out for a workout (seems too selfish to me). But to each his own. I'm happy walking.
OK, so I've rambled on now for quite some lines. The truth is this book helped me tremendously. It is a diet that works, and fits my body/personality/routine better than any other diet book on my short list. Folks in my office noticed the weight loss and asked what I was "on" ... I recommended the FSD to them and I've gotten three other people to try it, and they are well on their way to meeting their weight goals, too.

Extreme Low Calorie Plan Fad Diet in Disguise Sorry but this is a lousy book. The suggested menus are lacking in every respect. Day 1's tally is about 536 calories (I may have missed something here or there but way under 1000). Day 2's calories came in at 1103. Okay, it's a very low calorie thing, but that's never expressed in the text.
Out of 200 pages, about 60 are recipes, but none of the recipes are allowed in the menus so what's the point? Oddly enough, one is a sandwich with three pieces of bread that serves one.
Day 3, 848 calories. No wonder they call it extreme. Frankly you'd be so hungry you'll just want to gnaw off your arm. The author suggests you won't be hungry since you're always eating. That's a laugh.
Meal #1: 6 ounce plain, low-fat yogurt and 1 piece of fruit. Okay, lots of people skip breakfast so this isn't the worst of it. Keep reading.
Meal #2: 1 small salad (optional 1 egg white) and 1/2 cup mixed sliced fruit. --Why the egg white, who adds an egg white to a salad?
A piece of fruit is generally about 80 calories so why limit it to 1/2 cup of sliced fruit? If I eat a whole cup have I just blown it?
Meal #3: 1 veggie, soy, or tofu burger (just the patty, no bread), 1 teaspoon of ketchup or mustard (gross ketchup on a veggie burger?) and 1/2 cup of cooked beans (plain boiled beans like kidney, yum), lentils, or chickpeas.
Okay, do you eat a pile of boiled chickpeas? Neither do I. A few sprinkled on a salad, yes, but not a mound on my plate. Other cultures use chickpeas in recipes but I doubt they eat a pile on the plate either (maybe I'm wrong but why not suggest vegetables your readers might actually eat?).
That's it. That's your food for the day! Wow, I know. Eating all day for sure. Oh, but wait. You also need to add 70 minutes of cardio for the day! Not a problem since you're so fueled up with all that food.
All this would be fine if they suggested staying on this plan no more than a few days, but that's not how it works. Dr. Smith suggests you cycle this three times through, so you are on it for roughly 21 days, and if that didn't do it, you can start over.
If you want to try a VLCD (very low calorie diet) there are better ways to structure it so you won't be missing out on critical nutrients. This book rates zero stars but Amazon only goes as low as one. ...more info

It works! This diet really works! I lost 13 pounds in three weeks! The crazy thing is I only excercised three times! I needed to loose weight after having a baby and this book really helped me. I will admit it was a little difficult in the first week, but once you learn how to be creative it was pretty easy. The book gives you choices and tells you pretty much what to eat. I feel like it has taught me lifelong healthy eating habits! For people that have trouble creating a healthy eating plan, this book can really help!...more info
Extreme Fat Smash Diet book and program I saw this book's author on the Tyra Bank's Show (and Celebrity Fit Club on VH1) and thought, why not give it a try. I am only looking to lose about 15 lbs. and NOTHING else has seemed to work. I tend to plateau after about a month. Well, I read the book, which was very clear and simply laid out. I lost 8 lbs. in two weeks. This plan involves a LOT of exercise, so if you don't like to sweat, I don't recommend this book or program.
I don't feel hungry or exhausted. I feel energized and very secure in how I look. It is amazing what a difference 8 little pounds can make. Cannot wait to finish and experience how well the "Maintenance Phase" works out....more info
Nothing else has worked, this diet is excellent! When I first read the diet, I was skeptical. It seemed that there was not enough food and I would be hungry, but I gave it a try. The first day was a little hard, the second day a little easier, by the third day I couldn't beleieve it, I wasn't hungry anymore! I am currently on day 5 and have lost 6 pounds. I am a middle aged woman with 3 children and have tried every other diet (which cost me a lot of money) This is the cheapest, easiest, fastest and most effective diet I have ever been on. Excellent knowledgeable book I am very skeptical person, and it's really hard to please me regarding anything. Prior purchasing this book I have spent many hours doing my research on healthy life stile, including food receipts, exercises, good and bad habits everyone develops during life time, etc. Also, before buying this book I went to B & N, took the whole bunch of books in my lap, and carefully went throughout each and every one. Smash Extreme Fat Smash Diet by Dr. Ian was my only choice considering the price range, quality of the information, duration of the program, etc. What a wonderful investment I made that day.
I am not sure of 12 Lb in 3 weeks (since I only need to drop few pounds of fat; therefore, I am not measuring myself each day or each week after the program) but the whole program works for me. Smash, smashes into the ground What a piece of garbage. This diet is billed as "eating what you want just in moderate portions". That comes after the diet of tree bark and dirt. Excellent Book This was a wonderful book and I highly recommend it. The diet was easy to follow as long as you are committed to losing weight. I really like the fact that there are several pages of snacks that you can have each day (2 per day). The four small meals really do work and I was not hungry, in fact some days I could not eat everything that was allowed. This is THE DIET if you are serious about losing weight! I love this book. It tells you exactly what to eat and when to eat it. I lost 7 pounds the first week! Amazing diet This diet is truly amazing! I have tried many other diets and never had the success that I have had on the Extreme Fat Smash Diet. My husband and I have both lost 15 lbs each during the first 2 weeks, and still counting! I broke my back a few months before starting this diet so I haven't been able to do the required exercise and it hasn't seemed to slow the effects of this at all. For a new lifestyle I was an "Atkins girl" for 2.5 years. I lost 27 pounds on the diet, and unlike most, I found it fairly easy to live with. However, after 2.5 years, I grew very bored with the choices, and when I went abroad on an 8 day trip, I found that I fell into old habits (other countries do not cater to the whacko diet needs of Americans and most of the food that was offered was a carb lover's wet dream).
Needless to say, I gained about fifteen pounds back after going hogwild on every carb I could get my mitts on. Once I fell into the trap, it seemed impossible to get out and I was certain of one thing: I did not want to gain all 27 pounds back. I was finally ready to give up my new love affair with Andy Capp's Hot Fries.
I've seen many episodes of VH1's Celebrity Fit Club, and while the cast of characters is not necessarily to be taken seriously, some of the weight loss I witnessed was simply profound.
I have just finished the first cycle of the plan (each cycle is seven days long) and I have, indeed, lost four pounds, just as the author promised. I have always been one for exercise, so that part is easy (expect to exercise five days per week for about sixty minutes per day). The food, however, is the best part. Every day you are switching up what you are eating, so you never get bored. Even better, each cycle allows more choices (alas! in Cycle 2 you are allowed to have whole wheat bread etc.) Furthermore, there is a log right in the book so that you can keep track of what you are eating every day (it is very helpful when you can actually look at what you have consumed in a day--I wouldn't recommend any plan that doesn't have you do this).
You will eat four small, filling meals per day and are allowed two snacks. Best of all, there are "free snacks" of which you can have unlimited amounts (baby carrots, celery, pickles (one of my favorite foods, who could ask for more?), pickled peppers...)
Though I have not yet finished the full three cycles, the book has thus far done exactly what it said it would do. This is a lifestyle I can live with, one that I believe most people who really want to lose weight can live with.
Lastly, there is a maintenance phase (just like Atkins). Once you lose the desired amount of weight, you are given guidance for keeping it off.
Believe me, I was leary about doing something so seemingly "popular," but when something works, it works. My only warning is that you must be committed. If you claim yourself to have no will power, you might want to go for lipo. Otherwise, this one is doable and livable for sure.
P.S. If you are a semi-vegetarian (no beef or pork) like myself, you will find that this plan has you in mind. Lots of chicken, beans, fish, eggs......more info

Very Pleased - thanks, Dr. Smith! After the first 10 days I've lost 16 lbs. This plan is easy compared to all the others I've tried. It's important to eat every 3 hours, my energy is steady and I don't feel the need to overeat. I'm near 50 and have found it difficult to lose weight. EXTREME but effective !!! This is a really EXTREME diet but it works. In the 3 first weeks of the program I lost 10 lbs. The first week was the hardest for me. Right now it's a lot easier (I've been doing it for 5 weeks now), I don't feel hunger anymore and it works really well.
The only thing I can't do is exercise twice in a day as is instructed for some days, but still I get results exercising once a day.
You have to do the exercise to get results, and follow the diet strictly, but it's definitely worth the sacrifice. When you weigh yourself and see the results that I thought were impossible for my age anymore. (I am 32 years old, and haven't been able to lose more than 1 lb. a week, even with exercise).
By the way, I think this is a great diet for those who are not such meat lovers as me. And for those who have a hard time making choices with what to eat. This is plain and clear.

Really works... if you're up to it! What I really liked about this book is that it tells you exactly what to eat & exercise to lose weight quickly. It teaches you the healthy way & changes your way of thinking about food. I had a baby and needed to lose 20 lbs. It took me 6 weeks. The first 3 days is the hardest. This is b/c your stomach is used to being stretched out by over eating. Once your stomach gets used to the idea that you'll be feeding it more often and not stretching it out, it isn't as bad. It was not that difficult to keep it off with the maintenance program as a guide since it's pretty obvious. Don't eat junk food all the time! Don't over eat! Exercise!
The only think I didn't like about the book is it was hard to understand some of the meals in the beginning. Like the whey protein shakes (you can use slimfast, I guess). So, you have to decifer some stuff on your own. But, after a week or so it was fine.
It really works if you're ready to change your life. I was raised on fast food and eating out all the time. I never dieted before in my life. Yes you lose weight, but not fat I don't usually write reviews but I had to for this in hopes that it helps people to look more closely at the TRUE results they are getting from this diet. I consider myself to be fairly educated in the area of health and fitness, and also to have the willpower required to stick to this diet as it is outlined, and I went into it very optimistic of the effect it would have. I had three weeks until a vacation to Las Vegas and was hoping to lose my last few stubborn pounds quickly so I would feel more bikini ready for the pool. I have been, however, sorely disappointed.
I followed this diet TO THE T. I work from home which helped tremendously. I ate each of the meals exactly as specified, being sure to drink a 20 oz. bottle of water with each one (a total of 80 oz. per day). I also ate both of the snacks each day, pulling them directly from Dr. Ian's list. Each meal and snack was spaced 2 hours apart, starting at approx. 8am and ending at approx. 6pm. In addition to this I also took a multi-vitamin and a daily dosage of fiber each morning to be sure that I was getting all of the required nutrients my body needed. I believe myself to be a B type and I followed each of the cardio routines exactly as specified, doing each morning session first thing when I got up before I ate anything (there are claims that early morning fasted cardio burns 300% more calories). On the mornings where I had to do 60 minutes of cardio I would do 30 min. of steady jogging followed by 30 minutes of sprints (1 minute of running followed by 1 minute of walking). On the days where my sessions would be split I would do 40 minutes of steady jogging in the morning and 30 minutes of sprints in the evening. In addition to this I wanted to be sure that as much of the weight loss as posible was due to fat loss and not muscle loss, so I continued to follow my regular 3-days-per-week weight training program using 'The Body Sculpting Bible for Women' by James Villepigue and Hugo Rivera. My goal is to lose 8.5 lbs and 5% body fat (I am 5' 6" and 30 years old).
After 5 days here are my results:

I was concerned beginning this program by the extremely low amount of calories allowed each day as everything I have learned shows that cutting calories so drastically will cause your body to go into 'starvation mode' and will result in slowing your metabolism, but I decided to try the diet anyway because of all the rave reviews I have read about it. One thing I did notice however is that very few people commented on their body fat % (out of ALL of the reviews I read on MULTIPLE sites I only counted 2). Nowhere in the book does it talk about body fat % either, only pounds lost. As you can see I DID lose weight, however it was 3 times more lean body mass then it was fat. I also did lose 1/2" from my waist but my personal belief is that it was due more from loss of water retention and/or bloating then actual fat loss as I did not lose any from around my thighs, and if I was losing fat it should have been lost evenly throughout my body, not just one specific area.
I do believe the book helps to teach you good habits with portion control, smaller more frequent meals, and better choices of healthy food, and for that reason I gave it two stars, but as far as actually helping you to lose fat I believe it fails miserably. Many of you might see results in the loss of weight, but I urge you to buy a personal body fat caliper (I use th Accu-Measure Fitness 3000) and track your progress to be sure that the weight you are losing is the actual FAT that you want it to be, this diet is way too extreme to waste your time on if it's not.
What I would suggest instead (what I had been following before this that helped me to lose over 8 lbs. of pure FAT, almost 5% body fat, and at the same time gain an additional pound of lean body mass, all of this while eating almost twice as much food, doing half as much cardio, and even having quite a few cheat days/meals) is Tom Venuto's 'Burn The Fat, Feed The Muscle'. If you have the time to read through it completely it will help you to understand how your body works when it comes to food, cardio, and weight training, which will help you to lose the weight (slowly and in a healthy way) and keep it off for the long term. It's not a fad diet but instead a lifestyle change, and I highly recommend it....more info
Extreme is Right! The suggested menus for each day left me STARVING and although calorie counts weren't given, I would estimate that even with the optional snacks it was under 1000 for any given day in week one. I must admit that I didn't make it a full week without some minor cheats, and did not lose even one pound while on this EXTREME plan, though I did lose two the following week when I returned to my regular eating habits. ...more info
This diet works wonders I began this diet in January and reached my weight loss goal of 25 pounds by mid-March. I am not exaggerating when I say it changed my life. This diet gave me energy I haven't felt since I was a kid. I no longer suffered the dreaded 3 o'clock slump at the office, my insomnia went away, and my skin became healthier, among other things. Now four months off the diet, I still feel these benefits.
This diet requires an immense amount of time, not only for exercise, but also for planning out your meals. Part of my success was due to the fact that I began in the dead of winter, with no parties, vacations or other distractions on the horizon. Yes, the diet did have a negative (but temporary!) effect on my social life, but that is a small price to pay for being healthy.
Once you reach your goal, there is a maintenance plan to last the rest of your life so you do not gain back all the weight you lost. I have followed the maintenance plan and have not gained back any weight. The maintenance plan is easy to follow and does allow you to treat yourself occasionally.
There is an easier way you **WILL** lose weight on the recommended 1000 calories per day no matter what you put in your body.. Of course fruit, veggies and lean proteins are the best thing to put into it.. More diet scams.. Do It If you have struggled with sticking with your wonderful eat healthy and exercise idea to lose weight, this book is definitely for you. The first few days are of course going to be a struggle but if you stick to it, the results will come. This is a regime, not a fancyful idea. You must drive yourself to stick to it. Ladies and Gentlemen: Be Prepared to feel hungry This is not the book or diet for me. If you want results, I'm sure you'll find them in this book, however, not without paying the price of feeling like you're not eating enough.
Good premise to the book, you will develop good lifestyle choices and you will gain a keen understanding of eating in general.
But for me on a personal level, this book didn't dictate to my particular needs.
Great idea for weight loss and changing your mindset. This book is great, not only did I lose the 12 pounds in 3 weeks that he said I could, but I was able to gain a new mindset. Even after you complete your 3 weeks and lost you're weight, just by doing the diet you're prepared to eat foods that aren't on the diet. I think that if you are not only ready to lose weight, but gain a new outlook on eating, then this is a great book. I highly reccomend it for anyone. I didn't even exercise and I lost the 12 lbs. I'm not encouraging that, I'm just saying that's how good this book is.
Another great thing about it is that most diet books what you to get all these foods to do the diet, this diet works with food that most people have. Rice, meat, veggies and fruit.
Diet easy, but must do exercise...hard I find it really difficult to massively restrict the calories like this book recommends (800-1100 calories a day approx) and then do 60-90 minutes of cardio on top of my daily activity. I'm trying to lose 25 lbs, and was hoping to jumpstart a good 10 lb loss with this book. I just get too tired to do anything, especially the first week where the restriction is more severe. I did lose 3% body fat in 3 weeks without doing more than 1/3 of the exercises, but I only lost 5 lbs in 3 weeks. I will probably stick to the week 2 or 3 diet during the week, and then splurge on the weekend and continue to lose weight at a slower pace. I just don't have it in me to do both extreme diet and extreme exercise. Also, after 3 weeks, I'm sick of brown rice, other than that, it has been fine...I love fruits and vegetables and you get a wide range on this diet....more info
It works if you have the willpower Ok first off I was skeptical. I've never actually dieted before (never really had to until having kids) but I wanted to lose about 15 pounds so I tried it based on what I know about the author. This diet is not a joke, I will admit that I did NOT follow it to the T until half way thru the 2nd week. I don't like many of the things you have to eat each week but I decided to suck it up and see if the diet would work for me.
I lost a total of 9 lbs, 2 inches in my waist, 1 inch on each arm, and 2 inches on my hips. I actually feel tighter and thinner. Like I said, I didn't do the diet the way it was written and only worked out once a day until the 3rd week,(which I don't recommend, if you want to maximize your potential--follow it!!) and I still lost weight. I'm in the middle of moving cross country and didn't want to buy all of the items I need for the diet this close to moving. I did try the brown rice (YUCK) and the beans get old, but try some tricks w/ them like adding the soy sauce or salsa (picante sauce) it makes it a little more bearable. Also look into the substitutes if you don't like the items given on the daily menus. You will find that there are some treats like frozen sorbet,small milk shakes, or smoothies that you may start to look forward to. You can free style on your snacks. Something I used were the 100 cal pre-packaged snacks you can buy and fresh fruits.
I also could not stomach the Morning Star Veggie Burgers,I bought an alternative I REALLY liked, Boca burgers--I believe they are soy and look more like a burger and even have the smokey grilled flavor--dress it up w/ veggies!!
I highly recommend the diet, I didn't think it was going to work but I did lose weight. I'm going to actually try it all the way thru the right way (even w/ the 2/day workouts) when I get settled....more info
Wow!! Pleasantly Shocked!! I bought this book a little over three weeks ago and started it with great hopes that it would work and I, too, would lose 12 pounds like Dr. Ian suggested might be possible. After finishing my third week, I had lost 9.8 pounds--not 12 pounds, but I am so pleased!! I feel I probably would have lost more weight had I done straight cardio as suggested instead of the isometric exercises (T-Tapp) I did instead. But I am SO pleased with my results because, besides the weight loss, I noticed a very, very dramatic decrease in the baby pooch and hip pad fat, which were definitely a couple of my problem areas. I am continuing on for another three weeks, at least, to see if my lower body will continue to slim down.
Personally, I'm interested in new and different ways of eating, but I don't try everything I read about. And to say I was skeptical about the "Extreme Fat Smash Diet" because it was featured on VH-1's Celebrity Fit Club would be an understatement. But I flipped through, saw that the food was simple, easy to prepare, and healthy so I figured I'd give it a shot. We're talking lots of veggies, fruit, whole grains, beans--good things! So at the very least, I was going to be eating more cleanly, which is always good for a self-proclaimed fast-food junkie with portion control issues.
A couple of days it felt as if I was starving--generally those were the couple of days each week that had no meat or soy. I definitely have found these days to be the hardest. On other days, I felt like there was so much food!! Not that I am complaining about that... Dr. Ian definitely keeps menus rotated so that even though you are eating a lot of the same things no two days are exactly the same.
My willpower was working overtime, and I resisted cheating except for a very small piece of cake at my sister's birthday. Otherwise, I stuck to my meals and didn't have any snacks or alcohol. The only substitutions I made for the menus were that I only ate the plain low-fat yogurt one time, and vowed it would never happen again (YUCK!), so ended up eating Dannon's Light & Fit strawberry yogurt and it didn't seem to make much of a difference.
As others have said, Dr. Ian wants you to do between 50 and 75 minutes of cardio per day, five days a week. I currently in a fitness challenge that mandates I only use a certain type of workout (not cardio, but isometric exercises that are more like interval training), so I didn't follow this to a T, though I did tend to work out generally six days per week doing my isometric exercises, light walking, and riding my horses.
I lost 9.8 pounds and almost 4% body fat percentage in three weeks, and I feel like I could take over the world. I am very thankful to Dr. Ian, and I'd recommend this book to anyone, with the caution that you need to follow this diet as closely as possible. It is perhaps not the perfect book for someone who struggles with willpower, but if you can push on to the finish line, you won't be disappointed!...more info
Great diet plan!! I have read both this book and the original Fat Smash book and the Extreme Fat Smash is much easier to understand and the plan is much easier to follow. It is definitely more strict, but the results are worth it. I am having great success and I am not hungry on this plan. You just have to make sure that you are eating exactly what is planned. Dr. Ian lists meal plans for each day for a 3 week period so this takes out all of the guesswork. As long as you follow his meal plans and exercise plans, you should have success with this plan and you shouldn't be starving. It does take getting used to. Just be patient!...more info
Skip this book-Save your Money $ I did this diet pretty much to the letter. Not even consuming everything I could have. I also did the Celeb Fit Club Bootcamp workout DVD by Harvey Walden. I not only DIDN'T lose a POUND....I gained 6!!!!! 4/8/08---150lbs and 4/15/08 156 pounds!
I am very upset because I had awesome willpower & didn't even cheat once (believe me I was tempted though). Admittedly, I didn't do the second workout during the evening as required, but as a busy working mom of 3 kids, I didn't have the time. And on a diet where you are probably getting 1200 calories/day MAX, I shouldn't have to exercise alot for the weight to come off.
It was a great concept, but, nope, I do better just doing my own thing and watching what I eat. As a matter of fact today was my first day on cycle 2 and I nearly passed out. I think my sugar was low and I felt terrible until a few hours after I gave in and ate a turkey sandwich. However I would recommend the DVD bootcamp workout-great fun workout. Worked for me. People, stop making excuses. I think the extreme fat smash diet is wonderful, I'm going into my second week, I have lost 4 1/2 lbs so far, and yes it's a lot of beans which is fiber which helps block fat absorption and keeps you full. I feel wonderful, I think too many people make excuses for not following a plan, to justify not wanting to do it. Stop being wimps. I bet if someone told you could eat a piece of cake and ice cream everyday, I bet you wouldn't have a problem doing it. Get off your lazy butts and do something about your health, you only have one life....more info
excellent plan ACTUALLY WORKS I actually followed this diet for three weeks and I actually lost 12 pounds. This diet WORKS if it is followed correctly! I followed the beta guidelines eventhough I'm probably more of an alpha (to give myself a little boost) and I usually ate 2 snacks a day, plus peanut butter during the two cycles that allowed it. I drank a bit more alchohol than I was supposed (only about 4 extra glasses all together) and I didn't exercise on rest days. The first couple of days I was pretty hungry, but now I can't even finish a whole bowl of oatmeal if I try! I was satisfied, energized, and mostly sooooo proud of myself the whole way through! I HIGHLY recomend this diet! The key is, though, you have to ACTUALLY follow it CLOSELY!
I am 5'7 and I started out at 135 and got down to 123 (I've been shooting for around 125 for a looooong time and just couldn't get there). Thank you Dr. Ian!!!!...more info
Awesome Book/Fast Results Hello, This is the beginning of my third week doing the Extreme Fat Smash and I have lost 12 pounds as of today. I still have the rest of the week to go so instead of 12 pounds in 3 wks I am very confident it will be at least 15 by the end of the 3 weeks. I have learned so much in such little time. I feel great and am very excited to be on this program. Anyone interested or curious about this book, please do not hesitate to buy. I normally do not make comments or posts, but the results were too good to keep to myself and if I can help anyone make a decision to lose the weight, not hard at all, I have hardly even exercised which I need to start doing so I can have even more results. Excellent Diet !!!!! Very Shocked! Ok so I have gone through every diet there is and this one is the best so far!! I was shocked that it would actually work however I did read the entire book before I stated which is such an easy read to get all the facts. It seemed simple enough.... easy recipes, snacks, and a straight forward excercise plan. I am on day 5 and even though dr. ian said not to weigh your self everyday, only once a week according to the book. I sneaked today and weighed myself and I have already lost 6 lbs. WOW!! I am shocked but happy I cant wait till the end of cycle one. ...more info
