  • Powerfully revealing and truly enlightening
Deborah King's book "Truth Heals, what you hide CAN hurt you" is right on. I have read MANY self help and healing books because of my past, and Deborah really shares the truth and how to heal your pain better than anyone I have ever talked to or any book that I have read yet. When I was reading this book I thought I was reading about my life and my mother. It was almost eerie. Even at 42 years old and having dealt with so much of my past, reading this book helped me more than I ever thought, it also made me feel like I did when I was younger and would read or hear something about pain and parents, it made me feel like I am not alone. I am not the only woman to have a mother that didn't want her, that doesn't like her, it helped me to understand my mother and father a little bit more, it helped me to understand myself a lot more. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who has pain in their lives, physical or emotional. This is one book I will keep to read over again. If I could give this review more stars, I would....more info
  • Truth Heals Review
I so enjoyed Deborah King's book because it is written in a very easy to read style. Her descriptions of the problems that occur when you are blocked are right on and easy to find. A little more of "how to" for removal would have helped but all in all I found the book easy to grasp and motivating for me to do the work needed to get in touch with the truth and remove the blocks. Her people stories are the most motivating to inspire one to make the changes. ...more info
  • Highly Recommended
So often we hear and speak about "healing" when what we are really hungry for is congruence. Deborah King does a beautiful job of demonstrating just what that means and showing us how being truly and deeply honest with yourself can open the door to a greater sense of aliveness and joy. This book will open your eyes to the many ways we steal our own peace of mind with little white, and even big gnarly green & red lies. Deborah has great compassion and insight into our human condition and writes in a way that allows the reader to apply these insights to his or her own unique situation. A quick and interesting read that will appeal both to the novice spiritual seeker and the seasoned adept. ...more info

Thank you Deborah King for having the courage to share your experience, love and knowledge. The body speaks what the heart cannot and this book speaks to that fact. Mis-diagnosed with RA at the age of 30 I was catapulted into learning more about the wisdom my body holds. Truth Heals is a must read for healers, therapists and anyone seeking a deeper understanding of our amazing ability to heal ourselves!...more info
  • Couldn't Put it Down!
I was so fascinated by "Truth Heals" that I read it straight through; I couldn't put it down! I especially liked the author's take on celebs, like Johnny Cash and Jimmy Carter - I could really relate to them and better see myself in the process. • Right on the Money
I've never been attracted to the law of attraction or The Secret, so I
was delighted to find Truth Heals. In a way that really made sense to
me, this book brought home the power of truth. Just like Suze Orman
tells the truth about dealing with money, Truth Heals tells the truth
about the connection between our emotions and our health, and how we
have the power to change whatever isn't working in our lives. ...more info
  • Truth Heals: What you hide can hurt you
In this book Deborah King, Ph.D explains how allowing yourself to acknowledge what is true can be liberating and healing. The book has seven chapters, one for each of the seven major chakras in the human energy system. In each chapter, specific emotional habits which can bring on physical problems are discussed. Simple checklists are included to help you identify any problems in that area of your own life and body and shows you how to help heal them.

Ms. King uses client histories, celebrity profiles and her own experiences to demonstrate how anyone can release deep-seated layers of denial, fear and anger in order to heal the body.

This book can be an asset for anyone who is seeking a way to deal with physical problems that may have been brought on by emotional ones....more info

  • What a page turner!
Deborah King's Truth Heals: What You Hide Can Hurt You is truly an exceptional book - not only about being honest with yourself, but it's a tremendous guide to self-improvement, empowering yourself as a woman and being healthy. I can see why tremendous authors such as Dr. Northrup are giving this book such a positive endorsement. What was most profound to me was reading about Deborah's struggles and realizing there IS a way out of your problems, whether it be a weight issue, or a marriage struggle, or past abuse. This book gave me hope and convincingly taught me how important it is to be honest with what is going on inside in order to be a healthy person. It was truly motivational and uplifting. I would recommend this book to anyone looking to live a long, healthy life....more info
  • Guidance to Loving Yourself
Ms. King has taken the time to share her deep and challenging journey of her early life. She shares the connection with us by showing how each of us can make our lives strong and meaningful by being honest and truthful to our own self. I applaud Ms. King for her honest and candid stories and positive solutions to a better path for the individual. This book is great for those who want to feel the kindred spirit with the author, or understand those around you that may have experienced these challenges. This book is a positive guide to love and truth. A must read! ...more info
  • Not the best book on healing -
The book was interesting at times, but did not really tell you how to heal, or anything new. Instead it focused (a little too much) on the authors personal search for healing, a journey she is still on. If you want to read books about healing or being a healer, see the classics by Barbara Brennan- Hands Of Light and Light Emerging- by far the all time best healing books!...more info

  • Not enough truth in the world
I'm a tough reader to please, particularly when it comes to self-help, healing, spiritual journeys, that sort of thing. What struck me about Truth Heals is that it is so, so open, direct, straightforward. It respects the reader like few books do. I've been very distressed with the egregious lack of truth in our society today -- in politics, in business, in the media, in religion, in our personal relationships and even within our own personal lives. We lie to each other and we lie to ourselves. Too often we don't see it that way, we think a white lie, or a deception, or just a bit of PR spin on a given issue is ok. It may be, but what Dr. King talks about, in such an open and honest manner, is that continuing to live with these lies or untruths, on whatever level, is ultimately harmful. We all know it, deep inside.

This book is really about making people face the truth about their own lives. To take responsibility for healing themselves instead of suing, blaming, offloading on others. That builds character, and that's what this world sorely needs. Strong, healthy, sane individuals.

    Bravo Deborah....more info
  • Revealing and Enlightening
In "Truth Heals: Dismantling the Lies That Make Us Sick" author/healer Deborah King, Ph.D. reveals the details of her story of childhood abuse, both sexual and emotional, and the havoc that it wreaked in her adult life. She also shares the story of her own profound healing and transformation into a healer with great gifts. Finally, she teaches us about the healing mechanism we all possess -- how we get sick, and how to free ourselves from that damaging baggage. It's a great read, easily accessible, full of soul and fascinating, valuable information. In the process, we come to understand that we are all wounded, that our wounds are not who we are, that to fear and hide them is to help keep them in place, and that the process of healing is actually just another expression of love. ...more info

  • This book changed my life!
A girl friend recommended this book to me after she heard the author on a radio interview and bought the book for herself. Like my friend, I saw myself and my problems in every chapter. I found out things about myself I had been avoiding. There are suggestions in each chapter about how to make changes that I know will positively impact both my emotional and physical health. I plan to read it again and tell all my friends about it. ...more info
  • set us free!
It's said the truth will set us free. I've often wondered what would happen if people started speaking their truth, and listening with compassion and tolerance as others spoke theirs. But before we can envision planetary healing, we need to do our personal healing, and Deborah King's book is a mighty good start in that direction....more info
  • Truly Gifted Healer
Deborah King has written a mind and heart opening book that will appeal to all who are interested in healing themselves. Since all illness, injury and disease is caused by issues in your tissues, Deborah explains not only how we get sick but also how we can heal by living our truth. This book is enthralling as we watch Deborah go through her own awakening and then healing her childhood damage. In addition, it helps us to realize where we store negative energy in our body, how it can make us sick and then how by releasing it, we can heal. I recommend this book highly to all of my clients in addition to Deborah's workshops. Life changing material! ...more info
  • What You Hide Can Hurt You.. and others
As I've been doing lately, I received this book as a prelude to interviewing author Deborah King, Ph.D. It's a fascinating look at her journey to healing as well as that of many others. I love true stories where one shows the steps they've taken on their own path and how they've transformed and empowered themselves, leaving much of their past behind.

What I really love about this book is Deborah's willingness to reveal herself. In one chapter she states: "I expanded my specialty practice. Opposing counsel and even judges were not immune to my charms. But it was my clients, those men of means and influence who came to me for legal help, who were my personal favorites. Never could I resist a man in need, and many a client who walked through my office door reeked of need. Every one of them reminded me of Daddy. They came for advice, but I gave them much, much more."

Many women today still use this imbalance of "power" to play that game, using another's weakness for one's own gain. Dr. King recognized the imbalance and shares with us her healing.

This is a very powerful book; easy to read and understand. I recommend it.
