Customer Reviews:

  • Great set, worth the (sale) price!
We love these pots and pans. Our food cooks up beautifully and they are a breeze to wash!

My only complaint is that the lids break easily. Both of our larger lids broke and we have yet to find replacements.

I would definitely recommend these!...more info
  • Replacement set
We have had our first set for about 4+ years. This is replacement set - we will move old set to our camper. Old set was loosing some teflon, and getting a bit scratched as a result of us not being at all careful. For the price, I think it is a great deal and we know it will last several years....more info
  • I have a set that is over 13 years old
Got a simliar set almost thirteen years ago as a wedding present. It's been through a family a four, here are my pros and cons:

Pros: Heavy which means even heating and better temperature control.
Handles are sturdy, they're solid even after years of use
Stainless steel elements of the cookware are solid. They look as
good as the day that we got them. Clean up beautifully.
The size of the skillet is perfect for cooking large amounts of
food. Hard to find a reasonably priced skillet in this size. It's
been a favorite of mine. Steamer size is also good for family
    style cooking amounts.

Cons: The surface is unforgiving. Do not, under any circumstances, put
it in the dishwasher. My mother in law did this with one of the
pans after I had it for a year and KILLED the non-stick surface.
This was quite an unhappy surprise, considering that I've purchased
cheap teflon skillets at Kmart that have performed better than
that! Your heating capabilities are limited also, because of it.
Clean up on the inside is easy. Cleanup on the outside can be a
challenge if something oily spills onto it and isn't immediately
and completely removed. Gooey, no problem. Baked on grease is the
    issue.

Because of the handwashing issue, because of the limitations of the surface, those would be the reasons why I wouldn't buy this set again. It's sturdy, that's for sure. I would consider this a reasonable value for the money. However, if I'm going to invest further into my cookware, I'm going heavy stainless steel and will forevermore bypass the non-stick stuff. I want soemthing that I can slap into the dishwasher and use an SOS pad on it for quick cleanups. Gone are the days where I want to fuss with my kitchenware. I don't want to spend my time on it and I don't want one mistake with cleanup killing my investment....more info
  • Really, really nice.
Cooking is not my favorite thing...but this set makes me like cooking a little more. I'm sure they will last a long time. My previous less expensive set lasted 10 years....more info
  • Anolon Professional Cookware Set
Wow! This cookware set rocks! I'm not much of a cook but with these pans I feel like one. I cook a lot more because of how nice they are to use. Plus, as an added bonus, they wash like a dream. No more scrubbing for me!...more info
  • Excellent value Quality Item .
I may be spoiled because of the shock ( in a good way ) of using these after having either cooked on cast iron or raggedy non-stick cookware . Better value than any other set in this range ( even at double the cost ! )With the 20.00 drop to 130 bucks and it still has super saver shipping you can't go wrong . Two things though , wash them by hand ( clean up is super easy . Also don't overheat them they seem to transfer the heat from the stovetop very efficiently. Pans also have a nice heft . One other thing . Make sure you have potholders as the lids are metal and get pretty warm . ...more info
  • Analon Professional cookware is excellent
I had never had a new set of cookware and bought a stainless steel set. It was awful and I took it back to the store. Foley's was awesome and said to pick out another set of cookware. I chose the Analon Professional and it has been terriric. It heats quickly, evenly, and cleans up easily. I'm ordering another set because it is not made any more and I don't want to be without them....more info
  • Good set, but has faults
I purchased this set almost two years ago, and have been fairly satisfied with it in most respects. However, it is beginning to lose its non-stick coating, and some foods are sticking. This is especially a problem with the large stockpot. I agree with those who say that pots and pans are meant to be used and cooked with, and not pampered. I have followed all instructions as given by the manufacturer, but am still having a problem with the coatings. I have not tried to send the stockpot back, but it does seem that others have been unsuccessful. Maybe I will give it a try.
Since I have nothing else to recommend, this set is probably worth the money. However, don't expect it to last a lifetime....more info
  • Nice set of cookware for the price
I purchased this cookware for my youngest daughter. For her needs, these pots and pans are ideal. They are higher end than what she had and work for the type of cooking she does. She really likes the way they easily clean up, the variety of sizes and shapes, and their appearance. They would not, however, be appropriate for my own use as I am a much more adventurous cook than she is. I cook at a higher heat and would warp these in no time. That does not make them a bad set of pans in the slightest and I would recommend them to anyone with average cooking needs....more info
  • adequate set
I think it's a good value. They seem to last. As others suggest, i wouldn't scrape them clean or dishwash them, but it all depends on how long you want the lifespan to be for the product.....more info
  • Perfect set of Pots and Pans
This set of pots and pans is awesome for those who enjoy cooking, yet don't want to deal with hard to clean dishes. The nonstick works like a charm and the pots are heavy and come in great usable sizes for every cooking need (except sauteing, where a stainless steel saute pan would probably be best). I hope to have them for a long time. Great deal on amazon!...more info
  • Great cookware - doesn't last
We registered for this cookware as a wedding gift. We love the tempered-glass lids so we can see what's cooking. The pans have a nice substantial feel and work well with our smoothtop range. The stay-cool riveted handles are great.

At first we loved the nonstick coating, it did what it was supposed to do. However, we have had the pans for less than three years (2 years 8 months) and the nonstick coating is already beginning to come off. We have followed the directions for care and cleaning, and not used any metal utensils on them, so I am very disappointed that the coating hasn't lasted longer. We do cook frequently with high heat, but on a good set of cookware that shouldn't make the coating come off this quickly. There are little hairline scratches (probably from stir-frying shrimp or steaming shellfish) where the coating is now beginning to clump up and rub off when we wash it.

It's sad, because we cook a lot, we love this cookware and were hoping it would last us a long time. Looks like I'll have to replace some of our frequently-used pieces, and this time I'll be going without a nonstick coating....more info
  • Use for a few years an toss
The manufacturing is decent. The non-stick is great at first, but if it ever scratches, it all goes downhill. Most non-sticks from good manufacturers only seem to last a good 2-3 years of use. Less if you're using somewhat abrasive cleaning pads and throwing into the dishwasher. I must admit that I fall into the latter sometimes and just lack the detail to wash it by hand and get lazy and throw it into the dishwasher. They still lasted me a few years even when doing so.

As for warranties, whether it's Calphanlon, Analon, Circulon, etc...it's not worth the shipping to get the pan back. Heck, the set here is now only $135. For that price, you could buy two sets, use one set for 3 years, toss it and then use the next set for another 3 years. I've sent woks back to Calphalon and the costs and downtime are just too great.

The 'care' for non-sticks are a joke. If you read the reviewer below, it basically means, don't use if you don't want the non-stick to peel. if you want to stir fry, sear or pan fry with high temps, it's not recommended on non-sticks as the temperature is very high.

  • Peeling after a couple years
Although I ONLY hand washed these pots and pans, somewhere between the 2nd and 3rd year, the nonstick coating on the pans started lifting. I also do not use metal cooking utensils.

All that being said, I still use these pots and pans (been almost 5 years now).

Overall, I originally bought this set for ~$300 5 years ago. The pots are still in excellent condition. If I was looking for pots and pans, I would consider purchasing another set at $150.

I do cook a lot (used for business) so my 5 years with these pans may equate to 7-10 years of normal use....more info
  • Great Set for the Money
I shopped around quite a bit before finally settling on this set and I am very pleased with my purchase. I don't understand a lot of the complaints.

The fact that the set is a bit heavy is a plus in my book, not a minus. I would have been greatly disappointed if they would have been light and flimsy. I checked out a few different good sets at bed, bath and beyond before buying on-line, and I didn't think any of the big name brand hard adonized sets were any lighter than these.

One of the big selling points for me for this set is the fact that they are oven safe to 500 degrees. I have a few recipes I use all the time that start out on the stove and then move into a 375 or 400 oven, or finish under the broiler and this set can take that. Some of the others I compared have handles that won't take that kind of heat. Despite the metal handles, I am very happy that they don't get hot on the stove.

I don't put my pots and pans in the dishwasher because my family of five fills up the dishwasher too quickly, so handwashing is no problem for me either. They wash so easily anyway, and I have never had a problem with food sticking to the rivets where the handle handles attach.

I bought this set at a very discounted price here at Amazon and am thrilled with the purchase. Cooking is so much more enjoyable with great tools.

I haven't had mine as long as some of the others here, but so far they are holding up just fine. I use them every day, and if they do end up looking a bit worn any time soon, I will still be satisfied that I got more than my money's worth.

  • Wow, what took me so long!
I can't believe I waited so long to purchase this set, "Dec-2005". I've heard much about it, but anyway analon cooks just like it says, professionally almost everytime. I have been cooking for many years, many pot sets later, I found a great set. They cook very evenly, from stock pot to saute pan. Heat distribution is excellent. They almost clean themselves, meaning wow, water practically does it by itself. The first time I cooked steaks I thought here we go again, but a paper towel just about got the pot clean, "I used soap anyway". I would and will continue to purchase Analon cookware. Well done Analon....more info
  • OMG!!

I simply love it! Its a huge step up from my once beloved TFal set. I love the sturdy heavy pans. Wash up is a breeze handwashing.

I can not wait to use them everyday! I shopped around ALOT before sending my husband the link for a Christmas gift idea. And I was elated he purchased this set for me!!

  • I'm no chef
I'm not the worlds greatest cook.... in fact I'm probably the worlds worst cook but I find that this cookware helps. I have yet to see anything get stuck to the sides that can't be removed by simply soaking it in water. I burn food all the time and these still look brand new after over a month of using them.

The heat distribution appears to be very good with this set. I've yet to notice any hotspots on any of the pieces....more info

  • Great cookware, tremendous value
My wife and I have had this cookware for a little over four years and our experience has been very positive. The nonstick surface works exceedingly well and we are yet to have a problem with food sticking (except for on the rivet heads - a small complaint). Clean up is simple and is generally accomplished with little more than a swipe with a wet sponge. I've never put pots/pans in the dishwasher so having to hand wash is not a concern. It does take a little while for the surface to heat due to the heavy nature of the pans but the fact that the cookware is so heavy is what makes them cook so evenly. We do (gently) stack our cookware in a cabinet and have not had any issues with scratches.

Our complaints about this set are minimal, but I will list them for your benefit. First, the pieces are pretty heavy. This should be expected out of a quality hard anodized aluminum set of cookware but for those not expecting it this could be an unpleasant surprise. Second, the outside of the cookware can be stained which is hard, if not impossible, to remove. Because we don't have our set on a hanging pot rack in full view, this is not a concern for us personally. Finally, while the nonstick surface still works quite well it does seem as though its "slickness" has dimished a little over the years.

All in all, we have been very happy with this set of cookware. Are there a few things that we would change? Sure. That said, it is unlikely that you will find a better value on high quality cookware....more info
  • Very Satisfied After 2 Years
After two years of regular use, I don't have any problem with the non-stick coating nor with scratches on the outer surface but then again, I have enough room for storage without stacking. I thought I'd have a problem with keeping the glass lids clean and waterspot free but they are so simple to wash and dry. The pots are also a breeze to clean.

If I need to stir fry or use a high heat, I use my old wok so I haven't exposed these pots to extreme temperatures. I am extremely satisfied with their appearance and performance and I've added 4 additional pieces and intend to purchase more. Great value for the price....more info
  • Awesome set and great deal!
Ive been using this set for about 2 months now. So far there are no signs of wear. They feel sturdy and cook evenly. I'm pretty happy with them. A similar set from Beds, Bath, and Beyond will run $200-500. I had a similar style set that I bought at Sam's Wholesale Club. I believe the brand was Member's Mark. They were wearing out pretty quickly and for some reason the oil seemed to stain the sides. But with this set it's not the case. I'm guessing the metal is a harder one. ...more info

  • Best non-stick coating ever
This cookware is fantastic. Most recently, I sought to simmer some plastic tubing that I had use for brewing beer so as to loosen the grime inside it. Long story short, I forgot about it over high gas heat, all the water boiled out and the sauce pan sat over high heat for over 30 minutes with no water! The tubing had melted to the surface and I was prepared to toss the pan in the trash as ruined. I poured some water in the pan to cool it down and was able to completely remove the melted plastic tubing (just lifted right out!) and wipe the pan clean with no scrubbing. The non-stick was in perfect condition and I used it the next night. This is a QUALITY set of cookware. Do yourself a favor and get this. Anolon has a lifetime customer in my book....more info
  • Top Of The Line
I purchased this set as a gift to myself & I'm glad I did! These are very heavy duty pots & pans. They cook very evenly & sometimes you don't even need to add oil. The handles seem very long & just a bit cumbersome, but they don't get too hot to handle until you've had them on the stove for quite a while. The lids all fit snugly, but they DO get hot quickly. The price I paid was a great deal, I'm glad I didn't wait for someone else to buy me this 'gift'. I love 'em!...more info

  • Awesome cookware!
This is the best cookware I've ever owned, and in 30 years I've been through a few! It takes a while to get used to NOT using as much oil for frying -- it really doesn't take as much because nothing sticks. It has a good bit of weight to it - which I like....more info
  • Great pots and pans, but lids/handles gets HOT!
I spent over 2 months contemplating which set I should choose, and I am happy I went with the non-stick kind! All different food cooks great and very evenly, I am very happy with my new set. The only thing I am NOT happy with is the fact that the handles on the pots and the lids gets scorching hot (does not stay cool like it says in the brochure that comes with the set!) so you have to use pot-holders or you'll burn your fingertips off. I have a regular electric range, and never use a setting more than medium-hot....so it's not that I am over-heating anything. Also: this is a VERY heavy set; so if you have arthritis or any other weakening of bone/muscles this is NOT the set for you. I am used to carrying around a 22 lbs 1-year old so it is not a big deal for me, but I know my grandmother would have had a very hard time lifting these pots/pans off the stove (especially filled up with water, soup or anything else!). If you're in good health and have a nice pair of pot-holders: go for it; you won't regret getting the Analon set:-)...more info
  • So far so good
So far so good...we have had the Anolon Professional 12-Piece Nonstick Cookware Set for three months. It is the right combination of pieces. The clear tops are a nice change for us. The non-stick surface has been good. Some of the handles are more likely to get hot than others...my sense is that they are not supposed to get hot. Not a deal breaker for us, just a minor disappointment....more info
  • 7 Years and Still Going Strong
My husband and I registered for and received these pans for a wedding gift almost 7 years ago. We think they're great. • How to Care for Hard-Anodized Aluminum Cookware
If the extrusion is stiff enough, smooth and kept clean, and if the all the anodizing steps are done properly, cookware made of hard-anodized aluminum should last ten years or more. Most failures of cookware that happen in the home are due to the abrasion - corrosion (pitting) cycle. A pit may take months, or even years, to become visible - when it does any surface (non-stick) material will fail along with the hard-anodized aluminum failure. Most non-cookware hard anodize failures are due to poor initial design, improper processing, or hot to cold flexing. Corrosion is not usually a problem. That means with proper care cookware will not pit for many years.

Unfortunately, in the home when speaking about cookware, corrosion causes most of failures. In this environment, abrasion (from utensils or the food items cooked) is the principal agent initiating the corrosion possess. Then, alkaline cleaners, sanitizing chemicals and frequent wash downs exacerbate the problem; accordingly, home cleaning is considered a corrosive environment.

Tips for proper care of cookware made of coated (non-stick) hard-anodized aluminum:
    1. Never clean with soap
    2. Never put in the dishwasher
    3. Never prepare food items that have the potential to scratch
    4. Never stack
    5. Never contact with metals of any type
    6. Never use in home "professional" ovens on broil
    7. Never use in home ovens where the cooking surface is exposed within 8" of an element or "fire"
    8. Never direct heat at the cooking surface
    9. Never go from hot to cold (oven to sink...) without a near room temperature cool down period
    10. Never use (kidding - but, they will look best hanging when just out of the box)

Hand wash with salt water (mix the salt in the water first, do not scour with salt) - dry with a soft white towel. Paint (using a soft paint brush dedicated to the process) a very fine coat of olive oil on all sides of the hard-anodized aluminum - lightly polish with a white towel. Before each use sanitize with heat (stovetop or oven under 450) and a bit of olive oil.

  • Not Stay Cool Handles
My tender hands find the handles on the covers don't stay cool enough for me to use without pot holders. It's also heavier than I expected, but I guess eventually I will build up some muscles in my arms to easily handle the bigger pots. The width of the steamer insert makes it easy for me to steam larger plates of food!...more info

  • Great if you like non stick cookware
The non stick coating on this set is fantastic. You can easily cook eggs and meat without any need for oils or spray. The lids fit well, and the pans feel good in your hand. The handles on the stockpots heat up pretty quickly, but all of the pans and pots are oven safe, so that's a big plus if you like to transfer from the stovetop to the oven. Great set. Watch the price because it fluctuates a lot. I got mine for $149 here on amazon....more info
  • I am in LOVE with this Cookware
I bought two pieces from this series over 4 years ago. I love them so much that I actually plan meals around them. After this amount of time, the saute pan has had some work and the non stick is not perfect looking, but it works great. I decided to search for this series and found it here about a week ago. I jumped at the amazing close out price and bought the complete set! I cannot be more excited. I cannot wait to use them. Now, if I can just find open stock pieces. I would buy an extra saute and small sause pan with lid!...more info
  • Best cookware I have had experience with
I am surprised by the other reviews regarding the nonstick surface of this cookware. I have had this same set for over 4 years and the nonstick surface is still great. I cook regularly and always use this cookware. I am careful with it though - I don't use metal utensils and always wash by hand. Given that food never sticks to the surface, the pots and pans are really easy wash to wash by hand too.

Friends and family members have similar sets by other manufacturers (e.g., Calphalon) and my Analon Professional set is by far the best.

Not only does this set have a better nonstick surface than other sets, but it also has a much more sturdy design (I have dropped the tempered glass lids on my tile floor several times, and they have never broken), provides for more even cooking, and have a superior design overall.

In fact, the only complaint I have about this cookware is that the handles don't stay as cool as they should. But, this is a minor flaw that I am willing to deal with. ...more info
  • NOT dishwasher safe!! Read the care instructions inside the box!!
We bought this product because Amazon said in their bullets "Dishwasher safe, but handwashing recommended." But in fact, the care instructions that come with the product are very specific NOT to put it in the dishwasher, that it completely VOIDS the warranty.

This is frustrating because no matter how hard we try, we cannot teach my mother, who lives with us, NOT to put pots and pans in the dishwasher! We bought these thinking we'd be OK-- she would not ruin them-- and now it's hopeless to even think about getting them all back in the box to ship them back (the care instructions were at the bottom). I could scream....more info

  • Very nice, but nonstick far from permanent
My experience mirrors that of "Bluekitten." In less than three years, a couple pieces (the most heavily used) began to totally lose their nonstick ability, even after careful adherence to cleaning/use guidelines. I suspect it was from heat: The pieces that fail have been used periodically with up to, oh, 75 percent heat on my gas range (NEVER full), and they were the ones to fail.

Unlike one previous reviewer, I found Anolon's customer service to be fine. I had no trouble finding their address, and recently shipped one piece back for warranty service. Anolon replaced it with a comparable piece from the new "Advanced" line, as I suspect they're not making this line anymore.

All things considered, it's nice cookware, but seems very sensitive to excess heat. If you're a patient cook who can happily wait for the pan to get to cooking temp at half-blast or less (it will, in time), this set would be fine for you.

I also found the pans to stain and discolor very quickly on the outside. Given that, if I was shopping for a new set today, I'd go with the Advanced series -- which has nonstick coating inside AND out, likely prolonging the nice look of the cookware.
