Product Description

Just point and shoot. Slices or shreds right where you want it. Fast and convenient. Great for vegetables, fruit and cheese. Easiest way to make salads, soups, pizzas, tacos, desserts, and more. Even grates chocolate, chops nuts and makes bread crumbs. Slices or shreds. Food guide gently presses food down. Easy to use. Dishwasher safe. Easy storage. Color: white

The SaladShooter makes a fabulous gift for those who like big, healthy salads loaded with veggies, homemade pizza with plenty of grated cheese, desserts topped with nuts or chocolate--find yourself in that portrait somewhere? Amazingly fast, the SaladShooter literally shoots out prepared food directly into a salad bowl or in neat piles for an assemble-your-own taco party. Featuring sharp stainless-steel cutting blades, the two interchangeable cones, one for shredding and one for slicing, each slip in and out of the main chute and are secured in place with a twist-lock ring. That's all--no complicated parts to assemble. Food should be cut into blocks or lengths that fit into the food chamber, and a chart in the user guide specifies which cone to use for which foods. To operate, one hand grips the handle of the shooter and flips on the power switch, while the other hand presses down on the food guide to produce a steady output of shredded or sliced food. There's no need to wash the parts in between processing different kinds of food, so shredded cheese, lettuce, carrots, and more are ready one after the other. All parts except the motor base can be washed in the dishwasher. The SaladShooter is not intended for grinding coffee or processing cranberries, tomatoes, or meats. Measuring 9-1/2 by 7 by 3-1/2 inches with a five-foot cord, the SaladShooter is covered by a two-year warranty against defects. --Ann Bieri

Features:
  • Quickly slices or shreds large amounts of vegetables, fruits and cheese
  • One ingredient after another can be added without cleaning in-between
  • Shoots food right into a salad bowl, onto a pizza, or into soup
  • Interchangeable slicing and shredding cones easily attach
  • Dishwasher-safe (excluding motor base); 9-1/2 by 7 by 3-1/2 inche

Customer Reviews:

  • Great item to have in the kitchen
This works just as good as the first one I purchased when they first came out; can't remember how long that has been and the old one still works, but has a crack in it, so I thought I'd get a new one before I was without. I use only to grate cheese which it does a great job on and it's dishwasher safe making for very easy clean up....more info
  • Love this thing!
I had a SaladShooter for years until the moisture of Hawaii corroded the wire - finally I got one again ....and wonder how I could ever be without it!
It saves so much time....makes shredding and grating a breeze! So quick and easy to clean....so well made - I highly recommend one for everyone's kitchen!...more info
  • our 2nd salad shooter
Our original Salad Shooter finally wore out... they are handy gadgets, tho mostly we use them for just grating cheese. Unfortunately, even with the slightly new design, they are horribly noisy, and the little motor still has that 'new - is something burning' smell..... ...more info
  • New presto salad shooter
I really like the salad shooter, I've owned one for over 15 years. My old one (model #0291001) did need some electical tweaking in the switch after about 2 years, which was an easy fix. I liked the detachable cord, which is not on the newer model (#0291004). The reason I had to buy the new model was because the grater attachment broke and it was more economical to buy a new one than a replacement.
Now the new model stands taller than the old one and now won't fit upright in my cabinet (7 7/8 compared to 8 3/4). If they could squeeze in another 1/4 inch on the hopper in order to accomodate a standard 8 oz block of cheese I would buy another one. Oh. this is a little quieter than the previous one. ...more info
  • Fair
I needed a food processor for small jobs and wanted to try the salad shooter. I've had mixed results so far. It did fine with carrots and cabbage but when I tried to grate onion, the process clogged and stopped working. I removed the onion and repositioned it without success. I'm not sure what the problem was, maybe because the onion was slippery and the grater just couldn't make good contact. ...more info
  • THE HAPPY CHRISTMAS GIFT
This was a christmas gift for my soon to be mother in law.
I had been told she wanted one and got it for her, because she had seen how they worked when her daughter my soon to be used hers. She is very happy with the salad shooter and wouldn`t trade it for any thing....more info
  • Handy little Product!
I bought this product a couple of weeks before. It arrived on time. I Love it. It does the job of shredding carrots, radish, cauliflower and coconut perfectly!! Its just enough for day to day shredding needs. Cleaning is easy as all parts are detachable. I hate to take of my big food processor and use it for just one or 2 carrots!!thats why i call this handy little machine.
Makes a bit more noise! but i can live with that..

    thanks

  • Nifty Kitchen Appliance
I just ordered one for my brother and sister-in-law for Christmas. I couldn't believe they didn't have one. We have had two. The first one the grater broke, but, that would be expected given the amount of times I used it to grate cheese - all kinds - and making hash brown potatoes, and au gratin potatoes. The motor unit on the first unit still works and I keep it and the other attachments in the cabinet as a back up or an extra. It is the handiest appliance I have in my kitchen and wouldn't be without one. Someone said they are noisy, and that's true especially when you shred overly soft cheese - make sure your chees is cold (not frozen) and firm before shred otherwise the noise is not a big issue for me.
Try it, you'll like it....more info
  • Great Product
Received this salad shooter very quickly, and I love it. I can graded up cheese in a snap for taco's. Thanks...more info
  • great shredder, chopper, dicer, grater!!
About 10 years ago, our grater broke late in the evening, and the closest thing open was our little hardware store. We had people coming over and needed to have cole slaw made for a party. The had expensive replacement graters, and for a bit more this Salad shooter unit. We thought, what the heck. This was such a time saver, and a great addition to the kitchen. nice even chopped/grated/sliced carrots or cabbage or potatoes, what ever you are chopping. Worth the 20 bucks or so, and likely a good gift as well. Try it, you'll like it.

  • Productive and Compact
We had a Presto Saladshooter for years and the plastic on-off switch broke after providing many years of service. We decided to get the same product basically and are very satisfied again. The packaging has improved. The functionality is great for the price....more info
  • Luv the SaladShooter
Yup, I love my SaladShooter. I especially like it for hash brown potatoes, crushing crackers, and for chopping nuts. I wore out the last two I previously had, so was anxious to purchase a new one. I searched several stores for this item, but could not locate one so I checked Amazon and sure enough it was there waiting for me. I am very happy with my new SaladShooter and plan on wearing this one out too!!...more info
  • Presto Meets Expectations Again
I bought this as a replacement for one my grandmother has had for over 10 years. She loves it and hers broke at Christmas time. Now we are back in business with cole slaw :)...more info
  • Should have more attachments for this price.
The Presto Saladshooter works well and cleans easily. I'm only giving it a "2" because you have to buy more attachments that should have come with it at that price. Also the low rating is deserved because it is made in China, and I'm sick to death of almost everything being made in China. We desperately need jobs in America, but the manufacturers are too cheap to pay decent wages and benefits to Americans.

As is, this machine only slices and shreds in one size each. It should have been designed to aim the foods straight into the bowl or pan without making you buy a separate attachment. Also, I prefer finer size shreds for most foods, and would have to buy the fine-shred attachment for that. I've seen manual machines that produce more shapes and sizes at much lower costs. My arm won't fall off if I turn a crank or slide a lever to achieve the results I want - instead of wasting electricity. ...more info
  • A great timesaver!
I have a Tea Room in TN and use a lot of grated cheese on a daily basis for quiche, soups, sandwiches, etc. The salad shooter saves a lot of time over grating the cheese by hand. My mom has a tea room also and I plan on ordering her one today! Thanks Presto! ...more info
  • LOVE IT!!!
This is our second product of this kind and we use the thing endlessly. We had one die out after about 8 years of hard use and so had to very disappointingly throw it away. We then went on a quest for a replacement and had a hard time finding it. So when we found this on Amazon we got it immediately. Really needless to say we still love it just as much as the one we had before. They are great for grating cheese (which is our most frequent use) and for slicing. These are just great. I don't really know that there is much else that needs to be said. Great Product....more info
  • TIME SAVER
THIS PURCHASE WAS ACTUALLY A GIFT, BUT I HAVE ONE MYSELF IT IS AMAZING BECAUSE IT CUTS YOUR PREP TIME IN HALF IF NOT MORE. DEPENDING ON WHAT YOU ARE USING IT FOR, ALMOST EVERTHING COMES OUT THE SAME SIZE, ALSO IT IS EASY TO CLEAN. JUST FABULOUS, I'D RECCOMMEND THIS LITTLE SALAD SHOOTER TO EVERYONE....more info
  • Salad Shooter Review

  • salad shooter
I received one of these for Christmas and loved it so much I bought one for my niece's wedding gift. It works well to add carrots, or radishes to a salad even for just two of us and is easy to clean. It works better for cheese than any other grater I have used....more info
  • very happy customer
I love the salad shooter. I couldn't find it or anything like it in stores- not Bed, Bath & Beyond, not Linens N Things, and not Target. So, I was glad to find it online and I am very happy to have it! Very sturdy. Sometimes it kinda smells (like the engine is working hard) when I grate an entire cube of cheese. But, still works well and does the job!...more info
  • Great Product
This is the second saladshooter that I've owned. The first one I received used from my mom and that one lasted me over 15 years. When the motor finally burned out, I bought the new one and I expect this one to last another 20 years. They work great for a quick little shred of this or that. It's easy to put together, use, clean and take apart. Because there is virtually no assembly time, it's convenient to use, even if just for one ounce of cheese for an omlete. ...more info
  • My long lost salad shooter.
I used to have one of these many years ago until my neighbor broke it and never offered to replace it. But now I finally have one again. Yippee! I was thrilled to find a Salad Shooter on Amazon cuz you just don't see them in stores anymore. Nothing I hate worse than trying to cut potatoes evenly for frying. :oP...more info

  • TERRIBLE!!!
This item is cheaply made, no power, loud, doesnt work, the positive reviews I read before I bought it seem to be forged, I cant imagine anyone recommending this! It took three weeks to arrive and now Im afraid I wont be able to return it. Id give it no stars except it isnt permitted. TERRIBLE!!!...more info
  • Rather disappointed
This unit is considerably smaller than expected. The "hopper" into which the food to be sliced is fed, will barely take two carrots side by side. Top opening is 2" x 1 1/2" tapering to 2" x 1". Works great on small jobs but wanted to use for large batches of soup etc.
Guess I should have ordered the professional model....more info

  • still going strong
bought this for my mom who tried mine and loved it. Mine is years and years old and still going strong. Lightweight and easy to manage. It is noisy, as mentioned by other reviewers, but it only runs a few minutes at a time so that has never bothered me. Mom really loves the fact the the veggies can go directly into the salad bowl and that the pieces don't get too small from over chopping like they do in a food processor. ...more info

  • A "slice" of cooking heaven!
The SaladShooter has been standard operating equipment in my home for years -- it actually was a wedding gift in the early nineties. However, several years ago, it was accidentally dropped in dishwater, and finding a replacement was difficult. However, we located it online (it's not in the stores) and ordered it for Christmas 2006.

The SaladShooter makes slicing, grading, and dicing a fast, painless process. It is a breeze to use -- and simple to clean (the blades, of course). It's safe to use (better than a knife or a cheese grader) and -- for a tool --- it's sort of fun!

With this, soups will be be again cooking on the stove, salads will be packed in lunches, and harmony will return to our home.

  • So glad I found you
Over two years ago, my original Presto salad shooter died. I had the salad shooter for 10 years. I tried to find a replacement in the local stores, i.e., Wal-Mart, K-Mart, etc. and could not find it. But thanks to Amazon, you had it. I am very happy to put away my old metal grater and use my salad shooter for shredding cheese, carrots, potatoes, etc....more info
  • One appliance that makes my kitchen complete
This is my 2nd Salad Shooter. I owned my first one for 10 years. The months between when the first one died and when I ordered the new one, I found myself constantly going to the cupboard to get it! Very handy for many of the recipes I make, and I love that I can slice or shred the ingredients right into the bowl or pan that I am using. This item is simple to disassemble so you can place parts into the dishwasher, making clean-up easy....more info

The first salad shooter I bought lasted about 15 years before it finally quit--and it saw a LOT of use.
    I immediately had it replaced.

Every kitchen should have one!...more info
  • great item for cole slaw, a finger saver in the long run.
We had purchaced this on a whim one evening preparing to make cole slaw. Our grater was old and rusted, and a decent new one was about $8-10. After analyzing for a moment, we saw this little item on sale for $20, and decided to pick it up instead. 10 years later, its still doing its job. Easy to use, simple clean up, and finger saving. No longer do I have to worry about nipping myself with the grater. And it works great for slices of vegetables for salad as well. Just a cool Item, specalized for this job, but amazingly handy when called upon.

I bought this item because I frequently grate parmasan cheese and I was tired of grating it by hand. This electric Salad Shooter is wonderful. • Salad Shooter
Had to return this item as I ordered the wrong one. I have this one, but since I do heavy duty large portions of scalloped potatoes and zucchini casseroles to take to pot lucks and family gatherings, I needed the larger professional one. I was borrowing my neighbor's to be able to make perfect slices of five pounds of potatoes in just minutes.
Thanks for the ease of returning my mistake and being able to replace it with the one I wanted....more info
  • This gadget is great.
This thing is great. I use it to shred potatoes, cheese, carrots, etc. It works like a charm and puts the produce right where you want it - right in the bowl or the hot pan. It's a lot safer than a mandoline slicer. Clean up is really a breeze. I've used mine for years and I'd never be without one. I hope they never stop making them. You should get one....more info

  • I have wanted one for a long time.
I have wanted a Salad Shooter pretty much since they came out with them. I got mine in pretty quickly and I like it but if I need to do very much shredding or slicing or want larger slices I will still need to use my food processor. The Salad Shooter works pretty good if you are shredding, say 1-2 potatoes and don't want to mess up your food processor but if I were going to do more than that, I would be better off with the processor....more info
