Customer Reviews:

  • Best Ever!
I love everything Playtex! I am all about breast feeding, but I also work full time so I have to pump. My son has no problems transitioning from bottle to breast. He also rarely spits up even when he has formula. Between the drop in bottles and the drop in storage system, Playtex has made life easy for my husband and I. Less gas means happy baby, happy baby means happy Mommy and Daddy! I'm throwing out all of the other bottles we tried, nothing compares to the drop in system! ...more info
  • Great choice for nursing moms!
I have used these bottles to supplement nursing for the last eight months. Since the liners are steralized, all I have to do is wash the nipples and other parts in very hot water and let dry. These are convenient and easy to use. Try the rubber nipples as well as the bottle series with the solid color tops that close down on the nipple - I like those the best because they are so compact. ...more info
  • The ONLY Bottle She'd Take!
These are the best bottles ever invented. My sister has four kids, and none of the bottles she's ever gotten have had such super-soft nipples. When my sis tried to move one of her twins from breast to bottle, she litterally tried EVERY bottle/nipple they had out there and this was the ONLY bottle her baby would accept, anything else, her baby would scream and only accept the breast. these were a lifesaver for my sis. The design of the bottle is very cute too. I am about to have my first born, and these are definetly the bottles i am going to buy. (As for the review that said the nipples sealed shut in the dishwasher- yeah, that happend because of the heat! -and any nipple will clog afterwhile if u don't clean thru the hole). ...more info
  • Only one I've ever used! Mother of 4
I just had my forth baby and once again am using these bottles. My oldest is now 8 and I used them with her too. My youngest was very spitty. So I tried the Avent and Dr. Browns and my daughter hated the Dr. Brown and got to much air with the Avent. I dont mind the bags because now adays they have drop-ins. To the other mother who complained about the time it took to push out the air. I would rather take a few seconds and push out the air then have a fussy, air filled baby. I would recommend these to anyone. Hopefully they'll still around for my grandkids to use! ...more info
  • Would be perfect with one small improvement...
I use only these and the Playtex Ventaire Natural Shape bottles. They've both worked great for me & my boy. These bottles are especially convenient since you really only have to sanitize the nipples. My son rarely spits up and both bottles keep air out more than any other bottle I've ever used. One thing that would make these bottles better is an easier way to squeeze the air out of the bag, I guess my fingers just aren't long enough. I know there is another bottle by Playtex that has this feature, but why not make them all as convenient? One other question I have is, why are the 8 ounce bottles only marked up to 6 ounces? The 4 once bottles are clearly marked to 4 ounces...just a stupid thing I can't quite figure out......more info
  • Better than Dr. Brown's
My daughter is breast fed mostly and trying to get her to take a bottle was next to impossible. She would gag and end up throwing up most of what she did manage to get down. These bottles are great for breast fed babies. We used Dr. Brown's at first and she still took in so much air she would cry from the gas pains. As soon as we switched to the Playtex bottles, she drank from them with such relaxation and didn't have any gas after. I got rid of all my other bottles and use ONLY the Playtex drop-ins. ...more info
  • They really worked!!!!
I looked into these bottles because I was going on a camping trip and wanted to make life easier on me. I was using the Dr. Brown bottles but they are such a pain to clean especially if your camping. I read some reviews on these bottles and heard they were better then the Dr. Brown bottles so I tried them out. my son was still spitting up a little with the Dr. Brown bottles but now he dosen't spit up at all! I am sold on these bottles. I would say the liners are kind of a pain only because you have to buy extra and you have to make sure you have extra in your diaper bag. But it is worth the change in my son! ...more info
  • Love this product
I love the ease of use with the playtex drop-in system. Would highly recommend!...more info
  • THE BEST!!!
I used these bottles with my first child and I will definitly use them with my son who is due in 11 weeks! If you are a on-the-go parent with regular bottles, you'll have to stop and look for a water fountain to rinse out the old milk residue or milk that your baby did not finish before you can fill the bottle again. Or you may take 3 or 4 bottles with you which takes up too much room in your diaper bag. With these bottles you just pop in a new liner. They are collapsable and you can store 5 or 10 liners inside the bottle for a space saver in the diaper bag. Cute designs too!
TIP: Always have a plenty of straws on hand- WHY? Stir don't shake- Little if any air stays in the bottle and that means less squeezinG and a less fussy gassy baby!
TIP: If you are military, look for these bottles in the Commisary, they are so much cheaper- about $2.35 per bottle and only 12.00 for the starter gift set plus no tax of course!!!...more info
  • Great Bottles
I love these bottles! My son was picky about the kind of nipple we used and I could try 5 different kinds of nipples without buying new bottles. They are easy to clean and I love the sanitized liners. I tried the Avent and the Doctor Browns and he would have nothing to do with them and they don't have different kinds of nipples that go with the bottles. ...more info
  • Ripped off
These come in both boy and girl colors. The picture shows pink, purple, and yellow bottles. I received blue and green bottles. I contacted Amazon who promptly sent me another three sets (all of the first three sets were wrong). In the second shipment they only got one set right. I e-mailed to return these as well. When I sent back the five incorrect sets the company would not refund my money because "they had already replaced the items". Be careful when ordering from this site....more info
  • Perfect for breastfed babies!!
These bottles are great if you plan on switching between breast and bottle AFTER your milk is well established w/c typically takes about a month. The manufacturer even suggets to give this bottle to babies 1 month and up. ;-) This is the only bottle my breastfed baby takes and still uses! Easy clean up too! A+...more info
  • Nipples Don't Work!
I loved these bottles for the first month I had my daughter. I went and bought about 10 from Babies R Us, and after 2 weeks, 8 of the slow-flow nipples didn't work. They get clogged very easily and forget putting them in the dishwasher- the holes seal shut. I called Playtex about this and they agreed to send me 6 new nipples if I sent them back 8 (?). Now I will have 8 bottles with 6 nipples, which will probably just end up clogging again. The drop-in liner idea is great and does reduce air bubbles, but I can't afford to pay for new nipples every 2 weeks....more info
  • CUTE, BUT VARY HARD TO MEASURE THE WATER
I Love the origanel nurser so I tried theses new ones because of how cute they are; How ever the 'cute' curvy line and pictures around the numbers make it vary hard to accuretly measure the water. Also the new drop in bottle liners have clear numbers and lines. Put the two together and it's nearly imposible to see to measure the water. Playtex needs to fix one or the other....more info
  • Wouldn't use anything else
I worked in daycare for 4 years, in the infant room for 2. I realized then that the babies that were using these bottles were happier, less gassy, & spit up less then the other babies. I decided then that these are the bottles I would use when I had children. Well, I am finally preggers with my first and am planning on registering for them, no other bottles will appear on my registry! I love them and tell everyone I know that is having a baby that these are the bottles they shoud use. ...more info
  • Very convenient...
I have tried several different kinds of bottles and this is by far my favorite. My son will use these as well as the Ventair Natural bottles, but these seem to give him less air therefore less spit-up. They're the easiest to put together as well. Cleaning them is easier then any other bottle. You can re-use the bottle itself and get a new, clean nipple for each feeding rather then having to get a new bottle and nipple since it takes liners. It may be a bit more expensive in the long run with having to buy liners, but it is far more convenient....more info
  • An old favorite still proves to be the best!
I went back and forth on whether to register for the Playtex Nursers (loved the fact you can just drop in the liners) and the Avent line of bottle. I went to an Avent showing at BRU and they has my husband and I convinced they are the best line of baby feeding products out there. They gave us samples which I have now stored away. I orginally registered for their whole line until I started researching online and asking fellow moms. This being my first child, I didn't want to not choose something that everyone else already knows are amazing. My whole family have always used Playtex bottles and liners so when they suggested them I assumed they it was b/c they knew no different. Well once I started asking other new moms what they thought, they mostly all said to get the Playtex nursers. One friend used the Playtex VentAir and which she had used the nursers. They are easy to clean but most of all they keep air out which means less air in my baby's stomach. One other friend recently pointed out that all of her fellow moms that struggled with a colicky baby used other types of bottle but none of the moms she knew that used the nursers had a colicky child. Now this may be just by chance but I believe the bottles are a factor b/c if they let air into your baby then they will have extra gas which is not good. The only down side to using a nurser is having to by the liners but it is so worth it. They warm up so fast too- just put the bottle into warm to hot water for a minute or so and it is ready to go. I have even ran the bottle under water to heat it up and it comes out just fine. I suggest you try them out to see if they work for your baby. I just know after my daughter uses the Avent bottle she has gas and is fussy but not with the Playtex nursers. I tried to use the Avent bottle about six or so times and finally realized what it was doing to her. I just love the nursers....more info
  • not a fan...baby hates them
I was really hoping that these bottles would help my baby take in less air, like they advertised, but never really got around to figuring out whether or not they would have because she flat-out refused the nipple. I realize that babies have varying nipple preferences, but aside from these bottles, my little one will suck on anything you throw at her (and a lot of things you don't). But these nipples are long and hard and kept slipping out of her little mouth...frustrating for everybody. I'm sure the drop-ins are convenient, and it would be lovely to have her spitting up a little less, but unfortunately these are not the bottles for us.
(Avent's nipples are much more like the real thing...baby loves them). ...more info
  • THE BEST
These bottles are the best! I only have my son drinking from these. They are so easy to use & clean. I was breast feeding & bottle feeding him with these bottles at the same time. He had NO nipple confussion at all. He took to the bottle like it was my breast. These are great bottles. I wouldn't try any others. Buy these you & your baby will love them!...more info
  • Best out there
After buying all the rest, these bottles were the only ones that reduced gas, had a fast flow nipple that my daughter liked, and were big enough to hold 8 ounces of food. Tried all the other brands, and these hands down, worked the best. Drop - ins are extremely easy, and very little mess to clean up. Highly recommend this brand of bottle. ...more info
  • Awesome bottles, less gas
I have tried many bottles for my daughter. She originally used the nurser bottles for supplementation while I was breastfeeding(low supply). They told me to pump so I got cheap regular 4 oz baby bottles to pump into so she could drink directly out of. She started having all kinds of stomach upset. We then tried the Dr. Browns bottles. They were good but she had trouble with the nipple. We switched to the wide neck Dr. Brown bottles, which she did better with, but still didn't like the nipple. Finally I got back out the playtex nursers. Upset stomach problem got better. She still has reflux, I think always will, but the gas is only occasional now. Don't waste your time or money with other bottles. Easier to clean too.

You can't microwave these liners, but what I do is mix up a days worth of formula in a pitcher that I keep in the fridge and pour into the liner just before ready to feed, I then put the liner with the formula in a glass of hot tap water. It only takes a minute or two to warm up. Then drop the liner in the bottle and you're ready to feed.

My favorite nurser bottles are ez feed with the slider to get the air out. They are sometimes hard to find but are really easy to use. One comes in the newborn set or you can purchase them individually at BabiesRUs or Publix Grocery store.

If there were more than 5 stars these bottles would get a higher rating. Can't say enough good things about them. Also easy to travel with....more info
  • Shrinks when boiled for sterilizing
Very very cute bottle but it has a huge flaw. I was instructed by my pediatrician to boil all nursing items for 20 minutes due to my daughter having recurring Thrush. I put this nurser in with other bottles my daughter had used that day because she touched the bottle repeatedly during feedings after having her hands in Thrush infested mouth. This nurser shrunk like a shrinky-dink! It shrunk to about 1/4 of it normal size. Strangest thing I have ever seen. Do not use/purchase this nurser/bottle if you boil your bottles to sterilize them due to you or your child being sick. ...more info
  • They let in too much air!
The nipples of these bottles let in too much air in the corners of my childs mouth. I wish I hadn't purchased so many after reading all the good reviews. I ended up swithching to Dr. Brown's bottles and really love them. Although the Dr. Brown's bottles have a tendancy to leak even when filled below the green line as directed. My baby doesn't get so fussy with them though as she does with the other bottles....more info
  • Love 'em
The best bottle hands down! I am an RN and I highly these bottles without hesitation! They are easy to clean, to travel with, to warm up, to feed baby... what else is left? My daughter ( now 4 months) was never gassy and doesn't spit up much at all ever! Good Luck!...more info

  • Less air, I don't think so...
I was not impressesd with these bottles. As a first time Mom, I would see the commercials and ads and they always say "next to the breast there the best" so I thought I had to use them. WRONG! From day one my son did not do well with them. The bottles quickly fill with air when you put it down to burb even with the cap on and laying on its side, you have to squeeze out the air again and when you have a hungry baby who wants to wait? Even after pushing out the air several times he still would gulp air and having problems burping, he even cried 20 minutes after finishing a bottle. Formula would leak out the sides and drip down under his neck and this was with the slow flow!
I even had problems with both the pre formed and regular liners, when I pushed the air out sometimes the liner would collapse and I would hear a pop and the formula would be all over (I would waste both formula and a liner and would have to make another bottle). At first I thought I was pushing to hard, but even when I pushed gently it would happen, but not always but a few times is enough for me. So I went out and bought the vent aire, much better! Now when I go to feed my son he knows its coming now, he doesn't have to wait for mommy to squeeze the air out!
I will say the designs are cute!...more info
  • I love these bottles!
I wrote a review on the starter set for these bottles. The only difference is that these bottles have designs on them. These bottles are so easy to use. All I do is make up a batch of formula, drop the liners in and I'm all set. I have more time to spend with my daughter because I'm not scrubbing bottles all day. Don't waste money on a bottle warmer, just put very hot water from your sink into a cup and drop the liner in for about 3 minutes and then put liner back into bottle and shake. The liners collapse so that you do not have to push the air out. My baby is never gassy and burps very easily. I have also NEVER had a leaky liner. These bottles with liners are worth the money.

    *REVISED*
If you are a BJ's wholesale club shopper, I highly recommend the Berkley & Jensen bottle liners. You get 200 liners for $8.99 where the Playtex liners you get only 100 for $7.99. The Berkley & Jensen liners DO NOT LEAK and actually collapse better then Playtex liners....more info
  • The best bottle for us!
We used Playtex bottles for my son and were very happy with them. When our daughter was born, we decided to try them once again. A friend of mine had tried the Playtex Ventaire and hated them. I used them also with her child and found them to be more work than what it was worth. I like the ease of using the liners in these bottles. It is also easy to warm up breast milk in these bottles. It warms quickly through the liner when you put the bottle in warm water. Our daughter has no problem with nipple confusion either. We only use bottles about twice a week, but she seems to deal with them just fine. I would highly recommend these bottles for general ease of use and cost. It also helps with baby gas issues. I also recommend the bottle liners NOT the drop ins. The liners hold the air out better for some reason. The drop ins can be easier to deal with, but by the time she finishes her bottle, there is air in there again. Every bit of air that remains can matter to a sensitive baby's tummy....more info
  • If you don't push the liner up straight, it can come undone and leak
I really do not care for these bottles. When pushing the air out of the bag, you must do it straight for the liner can come off the bottle, spilling milk everywhere. In my case, it was prune juice and the baby's medicine. I have been much happier with Dr. Browns....more info
  • Great bottle
I love these bottles. Playtex has recently changed the refill to a 10 oz one.It fits the bottle the same. It is a great improvement over the previous 8 oz inserts.

I tried a dozen different bottles ans nipples before my breastfed baby took this one. He absolutely refused all others.

The extra expense for the liners is well worth all the time you save washing and sterilizing the bottles... because once that baby is here, free time is the last thing you will have....more info

  • Great for Breastfed Babies!!
I am a full-time working mom who also nurses. I used these bottles with my first child for 13 months (from the day I went back to work until he was weened), have started using them with my second child. Both took them right away and I have never had a problem with the bottles, nipples, or drop-ins. I like the clean, sanitary drop-in liner for each bottle. The slow-flow nipples are a good shape, texture, and flow for breastfed babies. Neither of my babies had any gas problems with these bottles and there aren't millions of parts to wash like the bottles designed to "reduce" gassiness. I have washed the nipples in the dishwasher MANY times with the high temperature wash and drying cycle and not a single one has clogged or torn. I DID, however, have that problem with the Avent nipples. I store my milk in 4-ounce increments. I can easily fit 8-ounces in the 8 ounce drop-in. Perhaps the person who was only able to fit 7 ounces had the drop-in crumpled up? I highly recommend these bottles. I found them to be excellent quality and affordable....more info
  • So Easy and Affordable
The easiest bottle ever and at an afforable price. The drop-in liners are a blessing when you're always in a rush (like me). The nipples come in three sizes (slow, medium and fast flow) so you can use these bottles as your baby gets older just by replacing the nipples. I bought a two-pack of fast-flow nipples for about $4.00. Replacement nipples and liners are available in many stores so they are easy to find. Target sells their own brand of 4 oz liners that are just as good as the Playtex brand, but cost less (about $4.00 for 100 count). Another great thing: the liners don't have to go in the garbage, they can go in your recycle bin instead....more info
