Ana & Ravi's Kundalini Yoga DVD's are an all-in-one yoga system. They are designed to bring balance to your mind, health, and emotions, and imbue your life with inspiration and fearlessness. When energy flows our life flows in new and surprising ways. For instance, when we free up our hips, we free up our possibilities and we can move forward in life, towards fulfillment. This DVD begins with a warm-up followed by an invigorating all encompassing workout, deep healing relaxation and a moving meditation to leave you blissful. This program has been updated with new commentary and the Matrix Menu Option, which gives you the ability to pre-program your workout. No more fumbling with the remote to get the workout you want! This DVD features superb production values and an inspiring soundtrack.

  • Oh me Oh my, My body really likes this one!
I love to do Ultimate Stretch in the evening - I am putty afterwards!
I used to have trouble sleeping, but it seems like insomnia is becoming a rarity for me now. The entire routine is about 55 minutes long but can be broken up into shorter segments. What a joy this program has been! From head to toe, I am worked out, relaxed and stretched out when finished. Very fluid moves, very easy to follow, and great alignment tips to "drop" you into the pose, as well as inspirations to start or end the day. I could go on and on about all of the Ravi Singh & Ana DVD's I have tried, but I really recommend you try one for yourself - - soon!...more info
  • Ultimate Stretch Yes!
I use this a LOT. LOVE this one - one of the best Yoga purchases I've made recently. I started with their DVDs as a complete beginner and never felt overwhelmed for a minute. Their instruction and care is that good! I really love ALL the Ravi & Ana DVDs I've done so far. I really like how they make me feel, and I also like the upbeat music and the fact that Ana seems as if she is really enjoying each practice. I do this one at least 4 times a week. I am addicted to the stretchy blissed out buzz it gives me! ...more info
  • Great Workout & Great Results!
I did Hatha Yoga on and off and never knew about Kundalini Yoga until I discovered Ana & Ravis programs. I fell head over heals in love it because , while it is not so different from Hatha Yoga, it is easier and much less boring because you breath and move with the poses which helps to get the body supple fast! Anytime I start to feel tight from too much sitting or stress this is the dvd I turn for - I get the results I want every time - a great stretch, a great workout for my entire body (but especially my butt and thighs and core), peace of mind and an awesome sleep!...more info
  • terrific for beginners or intermediates
I am new to yoga and have purchased several yoga dvds..this one is definately the best. I purchased this particular dvd because I was looking for one that would really stretch my overly tight hamstrings. This dvd does that and more. It was very easy to follow and flows easily from one move to the next, in fact, as I did the workout for the first time, it felt too easy...was I mistaken!! I was sore for 5 days after my first workout which tells me this routine really worked my leg muscles. This is by far the best yoga dvd I have tried....more info
  • Great Gym Alternative!
I'm a yoga beginner who works out at the gym on a semi regular basis. I love this workout to stretch contracted musles and knead away knots from the inside out. Honestly, another reason I love this one is that it's fun. The moves are not the same old traditional routines you find in other flexibility programs. The poses use movement and breath and this combo is absolutely astounding in what it does for the body! This program also has a cardio feel so it is a good excuse to miss a day at the gym!

  • Not an Ultimate stretch, not Christian friendly
For those Christians out there trying to stay away from the chanting and singing-meditation stuff... this is not the DVD for you. It starts and ends with long sections of chanting and singing. (I respect it but would rather not have it. I like DVDs that ask for QUIET meditation. This one has you chant along and at the end has this singalong section- thank goodness for fast forwarding)

That actually was not my biggest issue with the DVD. There is not enough stretching content for me. The DVD didn't address many parts of the body...no open leg stretching for the inner thighs and hamstrings, very little shoulder and upper back stretching, little to no stretching of the quads and no side angle poses at all.

    Ultimate stretch??!??!! I think not

on one positive note: the female doing all the poses...she is really strong and I can tell she has been doing yoga for a loooong time. not to mention very pretty....more info
  • Not for the inflexible
I purchased this DVD, because my inner thighs lack flexibility. The summary and reviews indicated that this DVD would help that. Well, if your legs already bend like wet noodles, then this DVD is for you. If, like me, the butterfly means your legs are flying in the air and not on the ground, then you will not like this DVD.

To put this in perspective: I am not a yoga fan at all. I thought this DVD would focus more on stretches and maybe some meditation to increase your flexibility. It did that, but not in a likeable way.

Part I: Some type of chants about something. I think it was to Guru or somebody.

Part II: Some stretches, which I liked. The one most helpful to me was the sitting on the floor with the legs cross and swirling the abdomen

Part III: The stretches that I could not do. The butterfly stretch with you laying across the legs just had me sitting there. I did the frog stretch (the modified version), but didn't like it

Part IV: Some more chanting to the Guru person

    My review of the DVD:

It was boring beyond belief. I almost fell asleep in the middle of it a number of times. One reason it was so boring, it is just one lady on a white backdrop doing stretches. Another reason why it was so boring is that you hold the stretches for so long that it is just ridiculous.

True yoga and feel the earth people who think the world revolves in 10 minute intervals will like this DVD. People who like the world to move at a regular steady pace will not like this video.

Also, if you are not flexible, the flexibility of this instructor will be intimidating to you. They should have at least included an inflexible person for the modifications.

Update: I returned the DVD. I found my Stretching for Dummies Book which more helpful to my goal of increased flexibility....more info
  • The BEST STRETCH out there
I have found that Ultimate Stretch is simply the best Yoga/stretching DVD available. It is a very dynamic workout and helps lengthen all the major muscle groups. I used to have problems with my back. After practising Yoga with Ana and Ravi's DVDs those problems went away. These routines really help me to stretch out, and do so comfortably. I recommend it 100%....more info
  • SUPER STRETCH
I HAVE BOUGHT THIS DVD TO CREATE MY OWN YOGA PLANS DURING MY WEEK

  • I've Made Progress Quickly With This One
Based on my experience with this one and their other titles, Ana & Ravi's tapes seem the most user-friendly of the many DVD's I've tried. I was really surprised that after doing this one, on the average, three times a week, for a month, how much more flexible I became. Not only do you get stretching in this, you also get everything else which provides an all around workout. I'm sort of at the intermediate level in yoga but I wouldn't hesitate to lend this to friends who are complete beginners. Ana & Ravi give modifications for any of the exercises which might be considered challenging. Ana is inspiring to watch and they are both very encouraging. This DVD is a complete experience for body, mind, and spirit!...more info
  • I'm In Love with This One!
This was one of my first yoga DVDs. I have since gone on to purchase a number of other Ana & Ravi titles. I had always resisted yoga because I thought it would be too slow but I kept reading about the "yoga body," and how relaxed it made people feel. At first I didn't know what to make of this because it's not quite like any other exercise system I've tried, but by the end of my first session I was hooked. This beautifully done and active program is good for all levels. When I started I could not bend over and touch my toes. After three months of doing this at least once a week (along with their other DVD's on at least two other days per week), I could get my hands flat on the floor. Also, my energy level was higher and I seemed to have more focus and less stress. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for something which really works!...more info
  • Seriously I think I have grown an inch!
I had injured my foot and was barely able to walk and this DVD not only kept me feeling fit, flexible, and strong while I healed, but I am sure it made me heal twice as fast as I normally would with this type of injury. It also, I am sure has made me taller! This is not your typical yoga practice, you will do different stretches then you have probably experienced before and you will most likely discover, as I did, a new suppleness you never knew you had! The exercises flow, the music uplifts, and as I said, I feel 6 feet tall when I am through! I noticed another reviewer mentioned chanting. There is an opening chant that is less then 30 seconds. There is not any more chanting or mantra until the beautiful song at the end sung by Wah with Ana. This closing song makes my heart soar and makes me smile for hours after. Don't be put off by someone saying it is not suitable for Christians because of this beautiful song. I am Catholic and just because a beautiful, uplifting mantra is sung in another language....it's just too silly to address! Whatever makes your heart open and helps you feel good about yourself is what matters in this life!

  • Just great!!!
Ive been doing yoga for over a year and a half now, this Dvd was among the first few i started with and to this date im very satisfied with it. I learned alot about breathing and meditating with this dvd. the instructions are very clear and easy to follow. The stretching out part is really invigorating and will leave you feeling like you can go out to dance the night away. There are forward bends, backbends and inverson poses that will ease any tension in your body. The last part where you can chant a mantra along with Ana is really uplifting too, i always look foward to it. I recommend this dvd for beginners especially....more info
  • Best of the Series
Of all the DVDs of Ana and Ravi that I own, this one is my favorite. I am a registered yoga teacher in training and a middle eastern dancer; and this session is a wonderful addition and compliment to my usual workouts and practices. I highly recommend it for loosening up the body and for the joy of the spiritual aspects it offers....more info
  • Stretch Your Body AND Your Mind..!
Like many others, I came across Ana Brett and Ravi Singh by surfing Amazon for new workout DVDs. I had been looking for something gentler - yet still challenging and effective enough to be called fitness - to do in between my much more aggressive cardio/weight training workouts. Amazon recommended them, and I was impressed by the loyal fan following that the DVDs had. I decided to give one a try, and as I was still worried that it would be a little too New Age-y and "out there" for me, I decided to play it safe and chose "Ultimate Stretch Workout." My reasoning was that even if I disliked the whole "enlightenment" thing, I would still get good use out of it as a stretching DVD.
I am happy to say that not only did I greatly enjoy this DVD, but I will be purchasing others in the future. This is something new for me...and I like it!
I of coarse have done yoga before, and even own a few DVDs , which apparently are all Hatha yoga (never knew there were different types!), as opposed to this branch, which is kundalini. Also, my previous DVDs are pretty athletically oriented, with the instructors' comments to "relax" and "let go" as spiritual as it gets.
I initially kind of laughed when I began USW, as I was sooo unfamiliar with chanting foreign terminology. I was even more caught off-guard by how much movement is in this yoga form. Wheras my other yoga DVDs took me from static pose to static pose, this DVD had me twisting my waist and rocking (though of coarse there are still static poses here also). But I kept an open mind, and by the end of the hour-long DVD, I not only felt great physically, but great mentally, like I could take on anything and nothing could get in my way. And without caffeine!
This DVD is wonderful because it is both a physical fitness DVD and a mind fitness DVD. It reminds you that you are a spiritual being, and this program places emphasis on not only letting your stress melt away, but opening yourself to become better, more purposeful and having nerves of steel. At the end of this DVD, I feel a unique calm, while also ready to take on some formidable task, if that makes any sense at all! :-)
I also enjoy the physical aspect of this stretching because the intensity level varies throughout the program. One minute you're moving a good deal and heating your body up, the next you're breathing deeply and calmly and could easily fall into sleep. You also hold poses while doing the Breath of Fire, which makes the poses a little more difficult. (I am still working on holding the Wheel position - basically a backbend - while doing Breath of Fire. Tough!)
Though I now love Ana & Ravi, I will not stop worshipping at the temple of The Firm during this lifetime! I like to keep my body sculpted in a way that only harder cardio and resistance training can do. And hey, sometimes I just like hopping around , swinging weights until I drop. But I do plan on complementing my cardio-strength workouts with more of these wonderful DVDs.
    Sat Nam! ;-)

  • Will get you exited about yoga!
This is my best find in a long long time! I did this the first time and had so much fun I didn't realize I was getting such a great workout. But I felt it the next day, and the next! Most amazing was the fact that I kept looking forward to doing it again. Unlike other yoga type workouts I have tried you start to feel the benefits just a few minutes into the workout and it keeps you wanting more more more!
The instructors are great. I can plainly see why they are the more popular of the yoga teachers....more info
  • Good for most people.
I'm a huge fan of Ravi and Ana. Most people will find this DVD to be great. The stretches can be easily adjusted to suit most levels. Let me emphasize the word 'most.' If you're an extremely inflexible person (you know who you are), this DVD is not the best choice for you. I attempted it a few days ago and hurt my back as a result. Admittedly, I should have stopped doing it early on because it was obvious that I needed something more remedial. Most people will fare well with it and in a few months, I look forward to using it again. The closing meditation is a recorded song that is impossible to chant with, but it's not a bad tune to meditate to....more info
  • Not what I expected
I did not like this workout. I had no idea what Kundalini Yoga was and after this DVD, I decided I was never ever going into Kundalini again. I prefere other kind of yoga. First of all, I felt that the setting and contents was way too mystical for my taste. It is held in an all-white empty room with nothing but the girl who performs the exercises along with the instructions of a man who is not seen at any moment of the workout. The video has a sing a long and a chanting at the beginning and at the end in a language I could not understand. Some of the poses were definetely NOT FOR BEGINNERS and the breathing techniques are not explained in the video (you can read the leaflet in the DVD case for some basic orientation). Although I am not a beginner, it's not for beginners, so it shouldn't be publicized as an ALL-LEVEL workout. I did not find good stretches and was deeply dissapointed. I will probably give away my DVD to someone who is much into a deeper sense of yoga or into kundalini, and who likes to sing, breath in the weirdest ways and do all the chanting.......more info
  • too much mid-section lower back exercise too soon
warning.. if you have never done yoga or are just starting this is not for you. it starts with alot of 90 dgr bending down too much too soon i think. i sprang my back the first time i did it and again later. i think it needs a bit more steps to ease into the 90 dgr bending.

also all the exercise concentrates mostly on mid section and lower back. for me who uses computer alot i really need some more exercise for shoulder and neck. but it practically has none in that area.

its almost like it's an exercise for someone who wants to be flexible on the waist and lower body area and that's it..

i wish it contains poses for more parts of the body and not just in one area where one can easily get hurt if not ease into it.

this is really more for intermediate yoga practioner....more info
  • Huge Mistake for Beginners
This video was a huge mistake for me at the moment. I am 47 and trying to get back in shape and if you are not already flexible and doing yoga for the past 20 years then pass on this video. It starts out with her sitting in a completely impossible position for me to even attempt. Then the video wants you to start chanting in a foreign language which is not only culturally and "politically" incorrect I am sure that evangelist type Christians may find it absolutely OFFENSIVE in more ways than one (I'm Buddhist by the way so little offends me personally). It just got worse from there until I turned it off. I am going to shelve it just in case 5 or 6 years from now I am fit enough to give it another try. I found Tammilee Webb to be much better for my level and she's more like doing it with a friend than a mystic. I finished Tamilee's entire video and look forward to doing it regularly....more info
  • You will love this video!
Having read so many wonderful reviews I purchased Ravi and Ana videos from Amazon including the Ultimate Stretch workout. There is so much to like about it and I especially like Ravi and Ana's calming voices..Ana is amazing..the video is 60 min and the workout is very easy to follow. I am not very flexible in certain areas and after a week of doing the video I found I could stretch further and felt more extended. The best part was coaxing my 80 yr old mother to try some of the video! She is rather skeptical about such things but after a couple of sessions she really started to look forward to doing some of the stretches and poses. I never thought I would see this as she has never even watched a workout video before but I raved about this one so much I guess I had her convinced. I could not touch my toes and have my hands flat on the floor and after a week of doing this video I can do that now. I cant wait to do this regularily and improve my flexibility and strengthen weak areas. I am so happy to have discovered Ana and Ravi and will definitely purchase any other videos they make. I even look forward to doing the video when i get home from work when before all I wanted to do was curl up and read a book or watch tv. Now when I do the video I feel I have done something so good for myself. Do the same for yourself and treat yourself to the great videos Ana and Ravi have created. These videos are a must have!...more info
  • The best mediditation
I love kundalini yoga because it isnt so hard to be mindful. But at the same time my body truly craves the tradtional stretching of yoga. This a great combination at both, the mediditation at the end always makes me cry, which can be a little confusing, even so I always look forward to doing it. ...more info
  • Gave it a try, and LOVED it!
I am ashamed to admit that I always just "watch" my workout DVDs once before I try them. And watching this one made me not want to try it. The mantras seemed too loud, too strange, and some of the movements odd. But, I am not one to have any fitness DVD just sit, so after a week of gathering dust, I got myself ready and put it in the player.

I had a FANTASTIC workout!! At a more reasonable volume, and actually doing the breathing and the movements, it is just what it says it is...the ultimate stretch workout. I felt muscles I have never felt before, and the workout was just that, A WORKOUT!

After using this DVD, I feel relaxed, yet energized. It has helped my posture, and my flexibility. I feel as if it has helped with stress reduction as well, and the breathing excercises have helped with my asthma.

I highly recommend this workout DVD....more info
  • Flex Appeal
I am results oriented person so the fact that I'm guaranteed to look and feel better after any one of their workouts has me addicted. I feel that this workout has made me more flexible in just a few sessions and has given me a nice clean tone. I used to dislike stretching, but now with this DVD I look forward to it. Call me shallow, but the fact that I'm guaranteed to look and feel better after any one of their workouts has me sold. Ana is so inspirational to watch and a pleasure to work out with. I already have Fat Free Yoga and Kundalini Yoga for Beginners & Beyond (which I highly recommend) and I plan to get every one of their programs....more info
  • The Best Stretch Ever
This dvd is amazing when it comes to developing flexibility quickly. In fewer than four sessions I have gone from being able to put my fingertips on the floor to putting my head to my knees. My only warning is to people that easily hyperventilate or have low blood pressure -- some of the movements involve fast breathing and moving your head from standing to the floor extremely quickly. This could make the workout difficult for some. Just remember to go at a pace that feels comfortable, and everything will be fine....more info
  • Wonderfully different
This is not classic yoga and that's what makes it brilliant. There's more flow and combinations of moves rather than simple poses. I ached the first time I did this which indicates it reaches the parts other yogas don't reach! Really love it....more info
  • An Essential Part of My Routine
It's gotten to the point where I really don't feel I could go a week without making this DVD part of my workout routine. There is great stretching and more. This one starts with some work on the core and solar plexus area which helps the whole body release. Then it proceeds to work the legs and hips in a very deep but accessible way. The culmination is a wheel pose immediately followed by a leg lift, the combination of which is amazing. This style of yoga does things in my opinion, that nothing elese can do, on some many levels, body, mind, & soul....more info
  • Not quite traditional but good
First of all a few words of context. I am from India and have grown up seeing my family members practice yoga. I have never formally learnt yoga myself and though I have been exercising for a few years now, my flexibility is not good. I bought this DVD to improve on my flexibility.

I was a bit surprised to see that there are no standard asanas - not even the surya namaskar. Ravi Singh and Ana Brett have really created their custom routine. The good thing is that it does challenge you. The production quality is very good - Ravi's voice is calm but firm and is cueing is excellent. This is very important as in yoga your eyes are closed during several sessions. Ana's on screen presence is inspiring. I will buy a more traditional DVD but I would definitely recommend this for your collection. ...more info
  • One of my most used Ana and Ravi DVDs
I have had Ultimate Stretch Workout for a few years now and continue to use it regularly. There are lots of forward bending poses (seated and standing), which I find both invigorating and very relaxing. However, people who don't enjoy hamstring stretches might not feel the same way I do!

My other 'most used' Kundalini DVDs are:

*Yoga Beauty Body (IMO the perfect yoga practice)
    *Dance the Chakras
    *Lose Weight & Feel Great
*Total Tune-up (one of Ana's first DVDs - the music's not great but I love the yoga sets)
    *AM-PM Yoga (awesome AM set)
*Yoga Quick Fixes (I actually prefer Dr Yoga House Call, but I love the mini sets in Quick Fixes)....more info
  • Worked Wonders!
Based on the results I've seen, I have found this to be an amazing, concise workout, which works deeply and powerfully, not only in terms of flexibility but also in freeing up your mind, emotions, and energy. Many workouts, I've found, try to force flexibility from the outside in. That approach of course causes a risk of injury over time. Ultimate Stretch Workout, and the Kundalini Yoga style featured in all of the Ravi Singh & Ana Brett DVD's, uses breath work in conjunction with poses and movement to organically delve deep and trigger breakthroughs on all levels. This is a dynamic, flowing, fun, experience which I can't get enough of. In addition to great physical yoga, the meditation at the end totally opened my heart!...more info

Every workout is a fun adventure using the physical body as an inroad to gaining a toned body, flexibility, peace of mind & spiritual wisdom....more info
  • ultimate stretch
I had no idea what Kundalini Yoga was until my sister purchased the Ultimate Stretch DVD from Ana & Ravi. My relationship to yoga was slim. I had participated in a few introductory classes & had checked out a few DVDs from my local library. When I borrowed my sister's copy of Ultimate Stretch, I wasn't expecting to keep the DVD for longer than a couple weeks, but I ended up keeping it for longer than six months. My first week of practice was entirely beneficial. I felt significantly better in the way my body & mind moved. As I continued to practice, I felt further release & relief from tension/stress I'd been holding onto for a while. And I was also better able to manage the stess/tension that incurred during my daily doings. The poses in Ultimate Stretch are difficult & challenging. The great thing is that Ana & Ravi provide modifications for the more difficult poses so a person has the opportunity to build on those modifications. Plus, the meditation/song at the end of this DVD is an amazing gift for the work a person has done during the practice. The ending music always leaves me smiling. Now, I own my personal copy of Ultimate Stretch. ...more info

  • Lower body, midline workout is good,
This is a great dvd if you're really wanting to focus on lower body and core strength. However, just be careful if you are new to yoga or have any lower back issues or hamstring issues. Either way, it's a wonderful dvd for most students... just go easy if you're a beginner. I also recommend TAMARA'S YOGA FUSION...more info
  • Outstanding Stretching and Toning as Well!
I have about 20 of Ravi and Ana's DVDs! I love them all, each one works a different aspect and, best of all, they all really work!! This one really gave me fast results not only in flexibility, but in body tone, especially my hard to tone inner and outer thighs! I am in fairly good shape but these areas, plus my belly, had stubborn fat deposits that wouldn't budge. Now I almost don't see them, and they certainly don't bother me! Any level can enjoy and benefit from this DVD. With the Matrix Menu option, you can pre-program your workout to fit your time and incentive that day. For many reasons, I would say that this is the perfect workout for me....more info
  • Love it
I am one of the most inflexible people I know. I've always been that way, ever since I was a little kid. It's always been on my list of things I'd like to improve about myself, but I wasn't really sure how. A lot of yoga videos have improved flexibility as a side benefit, but don't focus on flexibility specifically. This DVD is exactly what I needed. I use other flexibility yoga videos as well (mostly Yoga Zone) and fit this one in about twice a week, but this DVD is definitely the one that gave me noticeable results.

When I first started yoga about a month ago, I couldn't bend over and reach even my ankles. The tips of my fingers hung a good six inches off the ground. After my third (THIRD!) playthrough of this DVD, I was able to completely stand on my fingers. I couldn't believe it. I had to run and show my roommate. (Please note: I was completely warmed up when I started the DVD that day, having just done a 30 minute cardio workout.) The backs of my legs is where I see the most marked improvement, but my overall flexibility has improved and I am thrilled.

In addition to that, I like the music, presentation, duration and difficulty level of the DVD. It leaves me feeling relaxed, fulfilled, and sure that I've just done something beneficial for myself. Ana Brett is inspiring and fun to watch. I also own the Beginner's workout and am more than happy with that DVD as well. It's more like an actual workout, whereas this stretch DVD is not as strenuous and really focuses on lengthening the muscles in your entire body....more info
  • I LOVE THIS ULTIMATE STRETCH DVD
I recently took a chance on buying a Kundalini Yoga DVD. I had done yoga sporadically for years (power, vinyasa, restorative) but none hooked me so instantly as these Ana Brett and Ravi Singh titles I've found on Amazon. This Stretch is fantastic! They share the instruction and Ana is very athletic and a pleasure to follow. Often Ravi says to "want to do this all day." Well, I often feel just that with the poses in Ultimate Stretch. Squatting w/BOF being one (LOVE that - feels so good on the lower back/hips/groin) and the up/down cobra. So great for opening up my upper back after a day slaving away at my desk. Aaahhh!

The DVD is also relaxing and makes me feel so good....more info

  • HOLY COW!
WOW. Can I say it again? WOW! I purchased this dvd based upon others' reviews. Now I know. It's different. It's work. It stretches you. It makes you different! Yes, it does make you different: or maybe, more like your old self. For me, this dvd is a goldmine. I also own the dvd by the same person, called Bliss Hips. They're both incredible. Shall I keep going?.......more info
