- Knocked me out
I picked up Yogi Bedtime Tea because a) I'm a tea lover and b) I was searching for teas that might make me sleepy. So far, Yogi's Bedtime is the only one that does the job. One mug makes me pretty drowsy and ready to go to sleep. Two mugs make me very loopy and three mugs just put me under. I sleep through the night and wake up feeling slightly groggy; however, the feeling passes quickly and I'm ready to start my morning. If you're having a hard time getting to sleep, or if you know you need to sleep but just aren't ready to settle down yet, this can help.
I notice the information for this tea advises you to drink it during the day to calm and relax yourself. I can't imagine doing that. I would pass right out. (Definitely don't drink this before driving anywhere!)
The tea is sweetened with Stevia which does leave a taste in the back of your mouth. It is not altogether unpleasant but might irritate some.
Also, as another reviewer mentioned, some of the ingredients in this tea can interact with certain medications such as hormonal birth control, so be advised and ask your doctor first....more info
- surprisingly effective
I was pleasantly surprised that this tea made me drowsy. I knew it couldn't be the chamomile because other teas have been useless.
I use 2 teabags each night.
I enjoy the taste - no sugar needed....more info
- Very Relaxing and Makes you Feel Better the Next Day Too!
I want to know what is in an herbal tea and what each herb does for your body before I purchase it, so I reseach the herbs prior to purchasing. I don't know if Yogi has that information on their website or not; but amazon.com does have this information. I also have an herb information booklet. I had been taking prescription antidepressants for years for depression, but they don't seem to work well for me any more. So, I stopped taking the antidepressant months before I saw the ad for this tea. I tried a cup of Yogi Bedtime Tea mostly because of the valerian and St. John's Wort and in a day or two of having a cup at bedtime each day, I begain to feel better, more clear headed, and wanting to do things more along with getting a good nights sleep each night. It's the combination of herbs in Bedtime Tea, but I suspect the St John's Wart is the main one that helps me. I love the taste as well. My son was recently diagnosed with anxiety and panic disorder and, of course, depression, but didn't want to take the prescription drugs he was offered, so I ask him to try Yogi Bedtime Tea. He loved the taste and drinks a cup with me each night. This tea has been a welcome treat for him and me. I know Yogi cannot recommend anyone stopping their medicine without consulting their doctor, and neither can I, but the St John's Wart is known as an herbal antidepressant. There are also warnings for pregnant and nursing women not to take St John's Wart. But, for me, it is a welcome alternative to prescription antidepressants. Thank You, Yogi ...more info
- Warning for chicks
Great tea, good taste and its well beyond soothing for bedtime but please be warned that it does contain st. john's wart which is an herb that can reduce the effectiveness of your hormonal birth control pill. Check the warnings on you pill, mine warns against taking st. johns wart. ...more info
- Very relaxing effect
I drink this every night before bed and it really does relax me and help me fall asleep. It has a little bit of sweetness and overall quite delcious. I definitely recommend this to anyone who is high strung and whose mind moves a mile a minute. ...more info
- great tea but too much stevia
My 10 yr. old and I drink caffeine free tea every night. This one has more and seemingly better ingredients than our usual sleep time tea, but it is too heavy on the stevia leaf which leaves a very strong "sweet & low" type aftertaste.
It does have very relaxing qualities and the flavor is great until the aftertaste of each sip. I am going to try using one bag of this and one bag of our usual sleep time tea to see if this helps because it really is a good tea if you are used to using artificial sweetners (as I am not) and want a healthier alternative. Half as much stevia and I would give it 5 stars....more info
- Subtle, Lovely Bedtime Tea
This Bedtime Tea from Yogi Tea is an caffeine-free herbal tea that is relaxing and a natural sleep aid. Bedtime Tea is made from organic licorice root, organic spearmint leaf, organic chamomile flower, organic skullcap leaf, organic cardamom seed, organic cinnamon bark, organic St. John's Wort leaf & flower, organic rose hips, natural orange flavor, valerian root extract, organic raspberry leaf, organic English lavender flower, stevia leaf, and passion flower extract. The taste is mild, delicious, herb-y, and very slightly sweet. It is subtle and lovely.
I am definitely impressed with this tea and with Yogi Teas in general. Bedtime Tea comes with an expiration date (a good thing, because it's not full of preservatives, plus you can tell if it is fresh). Yogi Tea seems to be another company (like Numi, Aspen, Traditional Medicinals) that values sustainable and healthy practices. Their web site has a helpful glossary of tea ingredients and is beautifully designed, with info about each tea they make.
There is a warning on the box that this tea is not to be used during pregnancy or while nursing. If you are taking MAO inhibitors or other prescription drugs, you should consult your physician or health care professional before use. There are no other cautions or warnings on the box except the standard disclaimer that the tea is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.
Best of all, it works...I love drinking it before bed to relax and drift off into blissful sleep. This is a great tea that I highly recommend.
- It always relaxes me
I am an eighteen-year-old college student and I love this tea. A friend gave me a pack and one night when I couldn't sleep, I took it and it was so utterly calming. It doesn't put me to bed quickly but the feeling I get from this tea is wonderful. I love taking it before bed because even if I'm not tired, I start feeling drowsy. The taste is also moderate. I personally need two spoons of sugar with tea or coffee and this needs nothing. The taste at first is bland and bleh, but the after taste is sweet and stays in the back of your mouth for a while.
I also gave my tea to two young children I was looking over with a friend. They were hyper ten-year-olds that ran up the walls and yelled a lot. We gave them the tea (with a bit of sugar and lied saying that there was honey in it) and the two drank the tea and enjoyed every bit of it. Sad thing was, they were too hyper for it to even work on them but it did calm them down slightly.
Also, please remember to read the warning label! It states that mothers to be and nursing mothers should not drink the tea! I honestly don't know what will happen if they do but it's best to not find out....more info
- I'm sure it works if you can stomach it...
I'm sorry to give this a poor review, but tea has to taste good in order for me to drink it. I often drink a large variety of bedtime teas and have never tasted any tea this awful. I can't speak for how well it works because I couldn't drink the whole cup even though I attempted to force myself. Yogi makes some good teas, but this I just couldn't stomach. ...more info

Of all the valerian teas I've tried, this one tastes best. It's not quite as strong as some but you can always use two bags. Very relaxing, very calming, really does help you sleep....more info
- Excellent tea
I drink Yogi Bedtime Tea before going to bed because it relaxes me and helps me fall asleep. If the noisey neighbor wakes me up at 3:00 am, I drink some of this tea and can get back to sleep. Otherwise, I toss and turn for hours....more info
- i love YOGI teas, but this one doesn't work for me......
i've tried many calming & bedtime teas & none of them work for me, this is no exception. maybe i'm just immune to the ingredients??? i don't know. or perhaps i am just WAY too high strung & i need a triple dose or something. all i know is it didn't help me fall asleep the two or three times i tried it. and i don't like the taste of valerian, so while this blend really isn't that bad compared to some others i've tried it is "not my cup of tea"....more info
- A better tasting sleepy-time tea
I have not always been a serious tea lover, but this tea has really changed my mind about how wonderful tea can make you feel. This bedtime tea has a much more rich and complex flavor than other sleepy time teas. It does contain natural ingredients that may affect medications that you are currently taking, so please read the box. I enjoy this tea in the evening. It has a very rich flavor that does not need to be sweetened.
I love the packaging so you can take some with you if you are traveling. Included on every tea bag is an uplifting fortune. The price here is so much cheaper than my natural health store. I can buy the package of six here for what three boxes of tea cost at my local store. All in all I really enjoy this tea, and have given away several packages as I find this tea relaxing and tasty. If you are looking for a new bedtime tea, I would highly recommend this tea for you....more info
- Yogi Bedtime Tea Bags
This is the first bedtime tea I've tried. I'm not much of a tea conossuier of any kind for that matter. My wife bought a box from our local "whole foods" grocery for about $5.50 and I liked it. I bought six boxes (including shipping) for $14.71 with Amazon's auto-refill option.
This tea is very good tasting. It definately helps me fall asleep. I doubt the effect is chemical, I think it's more of a perception. Anyway, I highly recommend this product. Also, at $0.15 per bag you can't go wrong. Happy tea drinking! ...more info
