Customer Reviews:

  • Great for beef ribs
This is a great product. I smoked four full racks of beef ribs in my Big Green Egg last night. You can make a drip pan for this rack just by folding a couple layers of heavy duty aluminum foil around the bottom. That way you can get clearance for all the ribs by not needing a separate drip pan below. Awesome product....more info
  • A magnificent product. Steve does it again!
Steven Raichlen's three seminal grilling cookbooks (How to Grill, Barbecue Bible and BBQ USA) are, far and away, the dirtiest, rattiest, most falling-apart cookbooks on my shelf. I think about buying new copies, but then I'd have to spend hours copying all of my margin notes on the recipes.

Steve's line of grilling accessories show the same dedication to grilling and smoking incredibly great food that his cookbooks do. I have a few of his toys and goodies, and, far and away, the one I love most is this grilling rack. No compromises, no cut corners--this is the perfect tool for grilling ribs in the back yard on your classic Weber kettle grill. (The packaging doesn't advertise the fact, but the rack was plainly designed to fit exactly on a standard 22 inch Weber, leaving the side areas uncovered so you can add coal and wood to the fire.)

It works beautifully with baby backs, spareribs, and the larger beef ribs, doubling the typical capacity of the grill and exposing everything to that yummy smoke. My restults have been uniformly wonderful. Sturdy and durable, too. While the coating is advertised as "non-stick," I do find it best to wiggle the ribs around a couple of times in the first hour of cooking. After that, you're golden. As for cleanup, I get good results by running mine through the diswasher...although it should be no secret that anything used in smoke cooking is unlikely to be perfectly clean ever again.

This review is giving me an appetite...I wonder if I can stop by the supermarket for some beef ribs on the way home?...more info
  • Review
Hard to use in a small oven (barely any room for a drip pan) and hard to put BBQ sauce on while in the rack. Very hard to clean even though it is non-stick. Ran it through the dishwasher twice and there is still with stuff still on there - gave up....more info
  • ribs love it

but cooking method does work...more info
  • Doesn't fit a Char-broil silver smoker
title says it all. i never even took the cardboard off it. wish I had tried it out as soon as I received it so I could return it.

I got one from Lowes for under ten bucks that worked all fine. if anything check the dimensions well beforehand, or test it for fit as soon as you receive it.

if you're using it on a grill, that's probably fine, but then, that's not barbecue. if you're using it on a vertical or an egg, you're probably fine (and I'm jealous of your egg :)

  • Best rib racks ever
Teflon coated for easy clean-up, nice wide slots for your ribs so they don't touch while cooking. These are the best rib racks I've ever seen....more info
  • Check dimensions
This thing looks to be well built but it is too big for my char-broil smoker. It is even too big for use on my Weber Genesis Silver grill unless I leave the lid up. If you are planning on using it for one of those two make sure you understand the dimensions of the thing.

  • Good heavy-duty rib rack for smoker
I used this in a vertical retangular brinkman (2-door) smoker. It easily held 2 slabs of ribs, and could have held 3. Perfect for smoking. After a brief soapy soak cleanup took about 5-minutes but the food came off easily. An excellent product....more info
  • Rib Rack
This rack is built really tough. It's a very nice rack and I believe it will do the job it is intended for, but the rack was too big for my grill, so I can't use it. I will give it to a lucky person!!! I would recommend it to anyone wanting a really nice rib cooking rack....more info
  • Very Nice Rib Rack
Very nice rack, it's well made and serves its purpose. Cleanup may require a little time. Bottom-line: It's worth the purchase, if you love to grill....more info
  • Great addition to barbecue tools
This rib rack is the greatest! There is ample room for ribs, meaty chicken breasts, etc. which makes them easy to baste. And clean-up afterward is a whiz. Highly recommended!...more info
