Customer Reviews:

  • These are completely vile
I bought these after reading all the great reviews and I would not advise you to do the same -- not to the tune of 12 boxes anyway. I've foisted as much off on friends as I can and I still have one box left.

It's funny that everyone raves about it being free of chemicals, etc. because to me the taste makes me think of exactly that. It's just truly awful -- does not resemble a cheese taste in the slightest. Just a weird sharp and very unpleasant taste. The sauce is thin. They are even worse is you try to reheat. Obviously, this is just my opinion, but I warn you not to buy 12 boxes if you're a first-timer!...more info
  • Tastes Like the No-Name Store Brand
It tastes absolutely the same as any other store mac-and-cheese. The "totally natural" cheese is a fine-as-talcum-powder substance in a foil packet. Save some money and buy the store brand for 69 cents on sale at Ralph's Market....more info
  • not worth the price
I found this product to be tasteless. Even a dollar store product has more flavor than this does. Iwould never buy this brand again and would not recomend it to anyone. ...more info
  • Healthy Mac & Cheese--not an oxymoron
Finally, I found a product that satisfies my daughter's mac and cheese craving and also meets my nutrition requirements. We've tested this on several young teens and they all found it delicious; what more could you ask from an instant pasta dish?...more info
  • Annie's Delicious Mac and Cheese
This is my kids' favorite mac and cheese. They like this one better than Kraft! :)I have tried all of the other "healthier" or "organic" Mac and Cheeses--Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, the various Annie'e etc. This one is the best and the "cheesiest".
It is so nice to order it from Amazon--great price and I can order a case and it shows up at my house two days later with free shipping. Great!...more info
  • Not near as good as Annie's creamy delux mac & cheese
This the only product of Annie's that I am disappointed in. The cheese powder is not nearly as flavorful as Annie's creamy delux mac and cheese with the foil packet of cheese sauce (which my family and I all love and will be the only kind I buy from now on)....more info
  • Great product
My kids love this and I can feel good serving it to them. Say goodbye to preservatives and ingredients I can not pronounce. ...more info
  • Way overrated
I had seen Annie`s advertised along side of kraft for years but never took the leap until recently and now I wish I hadnt. First off the overall portion size is small and they use a very small pasta shell (it has to be seen to be believed). You get more pasta not to mention much bigger pasta shells in the Kraft mac and cheese version and personally I think they taste better despite not being organic. Perhaps if youre just buying this for children this might suffice but if youre looking to eat this as a meal or even as a side and there`s more than one person and/or you have even an average appetite I`d look elsewhere or just plan on cooking two boxes. As far as flavor is concerned and the final product... I followed the directions and mixed the recommended amount of milk with the powder cheese mix and it came out more like soup than anything even closely resembling mac and cheese. Not sure what they were going for here but I definitely dont get what all these 5-star reviews are about. I even tried adding a few slices of kraft cheddar and it still was soupy. Then I substituted margarin for milk as some other reviewers had suggested and although it was more palatable (only reason I didnt give it one star) I was still very disappointed. There was hardly enough cheese for half the shells muchless the entire box. Maybe if they used larger shells and gave you a lot more of the powder cheese Id consider reviewing it again but given the portion police state we live in I doubt either will happen. In conclusion, if you like eating mac and cheese like u do your cereal in the morning then this version of annie`s is for u, if not, try Kraft (not the powdered version) and youll be much happier for having done so....more info
  • Taste like vomit
Tastes like sick chemicals. I cannot imagine any child eating this and liking it, same goes with all of Annie's mac and cheese products. Sauce is thin, noodles are too small, and it tastes like vomit or stomach acid (I'm serious). Kraft now makes Organic mac and cheese and it's DELICIOUS, I'm eating some right now....more info
  • Good for What It Is
I compare this to Kraft or other conventional mac 'n cheese products and give it a 5. You cannot compare it to homemade, however. I actually haven't touched any mac n cheese other than natural ones in decades...yuk. But this is a product I like to have on hand for nights I don't want to cook. Quick, easy--almost like not cooking. Tasty....more info
  • Wonderful for Lacto-Ovo vegetarians like me!
This tastes better than the Kraft stuff I used to eat, and really any other brand of Mac & Cheese I can recall using. It's only competition is homemade macaroni and cheese, just follow the directions, and you'll enjoy a wonderful, cheesy meal in almost no time. ...more info
  • My son loves this!!
I just came back to order more. My son (7 year old) loves this! He likes his mac and cheese to be orange. This is the only natural version I have found with orange cheese.

I do make it with butter which the directions say is optional, but I think its better with a creamier sauce. Its also really good with a bit of cream cheese melted in if I am low on butter....more info
  • Great Mac & Cheese
I love this product. Great taste and I like being able pronounce (and know)all of the ingredients....more info
  • no flavor
Was very disappointed, there was no real cheese flavor. Had to add our own extra sharp cheddar to give it pop. Also, cheese sauce didn't cover the noodles well....more info
  • Good Alternative
Annie's Natural Shells are a good alternative to the pasty white flour Kraft Mac & Cheese. Flavor is good for a boxed Mac & Cheese when you just want something quick and easy. Kids will not know the difference; just your wallet will.

However I don't care for all of their organic and the "I'm saving the Earth so I'm a better person for buying this product" mumbo jumbo. There are those of us that just want healthy alternatives without all of the being green politically correctness. The fact is that the dairy products that they use come from cows that eventually end up in a saluter house.

"How nice is that Mr. Rabbit?"...more info
