This pillow helps keep my airway open, with my sleep apnea.
Also, with a regular pillow on top to prop my head, great for watching TV....more info
  • Good for acid reflux sufferers
I have suffered from acid reflux for years, and used to prop myself up with a number of pillows. I would invariably end up laying flat by the end of the night, with pillows everywhere but where I needed them. With this wedge, I can lay comfortably on my back with my head elevated. It is firm and supports the weight of my upper torso very well....more info
  • Acid Reflux Bed Wedge
This is great quality and very helpful with my acid reflux. The only down side is that it is extremely firm. I totally understand that it has to be firm to hold up to body weight...but,I am going to try to put a piece of memory foam inside the liner to see if that will help soften it some. ...more info
  • Good, but not for everyone
I bought this pillow because I've had acid reflux lately and read that sleeping on an incline should help. The pillow itself is fine, I never bought a pillow case for it (just covered it with an extra blanket) and it seems to work well when you initially sleep on it. The incline is just enough to keep the upper half of your body elevated. However, every time I use this product, by morning, I always end up near the bottom of the wedge, and it's mostly just my head that's elevated (which kind of defeats the purpose of the pillow). So, if you tend to be a person who moves around in your sleep a lot, this product might not be for you because it won't help you through the night. But if you're a person who generally doesn't move too much when you sleep, then this might be perfect for you.

Other pluses of this product: it does serve a pretty good back support if you're just reading in bed, and you can flip it vertically to rest against a wall (this isn't super comfortable, but it's all right).

In the end, it's a matter of personal preference and sleeping patterns. You can sleep with another pillow (I use a tempur-pedic one) on top of the pillow (I think it makes it a lot more comfortable). I wouldn't recommend sleeping on it without another pillow though. ...more info
  • A waste of money
I recently purchased this wedge after my doctor informed me that I have advanced reflux and changes in the lining of my esophagus. He encouraged me to either lift the legs of the head of my bed on bricks, etc., or to purchase a wedge. I thought the wedge would be a better solution, so I went on-line to research wedges. I chose this wedge due to the multiple positive reviews, but I simply can't believe that people can sleep on it. The package arrived very quickly, and I tried it out the first night it arrived. I found the angle of the wedge to be too high. Throughout the night I slid down the wedge, and there is no give to it so I woke up multiple times throughout the night. I found it impossible to lie on my side as well. Research shows that only a six inch rise is necessary to relieve reflux symptoms, so my advice would be to purchase one that is only six inches in height. Also, this is not a returnable item. Something which was never brought to my attention, so consider yourself warned....more info

  • Never Got The Stuff
The item listed seemed to be the thing I needed so I ordered in late January. As of March 3, 2009, I have yet to receive the product. I have exchanged emails twice with this company and had one phone conversation and have been promised action as well as a return phone call on two seperate occasions following an email exchange but the calls were not forthcoming. I have called on several occasions but their phone does not get answered. I still want the merchandise (I am facing surgery soon and I need something like this) but it appears that the company does not intend to send it, although they readily accepted payment. They seem to be a legitimate company but I can't tell it from my own experience....more info
  • Continues to save my marriage!
This wedge continues to save my marriage, as it has all but completely stopped me from snoring. I've tried nasal strips, throat sprays, etc., and none of them worked. Elevating my upper body when I sleep (like this wedge does) has reduced my snoring by about 98%. The 2% of the time that I do continue to snore, it's usually because I've slid down on the wedge so I'm sleeping horizontally again. I actually use a contour pillow in conjuction with this wedge.

I also purchased a foot wedge, but do not use it as much. Both of these products also helped with some back problems I was having. I get the best nights sleep using these, and that's saying a lot when you have a nagging back problem.

This one is rather large and bulky, which is good for me because I'm a big person, but for anyone normal sized or small, you could easily use a narrower one. I've even taken mine on vacation (driving -- not flying or cruising/sailing), but I'm currently on the look out for a nice, inflatable model so that I can more easily stow it. This one does work okay if you use one of those storage shrinking bags (where you suck the air out of the bag). The wedge springs right back into shape when you open the storage bag.

I highly recommend this product....more info
  • Comfort during Hospice
I purchased this for my father who is receiving hospice care. The foam is functional and reasonably priced so that we could afford to purchase without thinking twice about it. The washable cover comes with it. It is light and easy to store and quick to slip behind the shoulders and head for eating or drinking, taking pills and visiting.
The foam is firm so it is stable and supportive an additional bed pillow can be slipped between the user to soften if needed.
Could also be helpful while using a laptop during convalescence.
    Recommended. Thank you. ...more info
  • My Bed Wedge
I bought my wedge several weeks ago and was pretty pleased with delivery and packaging. It did have a slight "foam/synthetic" smell to it, but it really wasn't anything that lasted. I'm still getting used to it, however, sleeping on an incline sort of helps my reflux situation, but I'm sliding down the pillow during the night.

I wake up and I'm all the way down (I'm only 4'10", so there's room at the foot of the bed) except for my head. My doctor-brother-in-law claims that his patients complain about this, too, and the only way they've solved this problem is to use velcro on the pillow and on a sleeping t-shirt. I haven't done this...yet....more info
  • Wedge Bed Pillow Improves Sleep Quality
This product is amazing! I bought this item for my boyfriend to help alleviate his snoring. He has since been able to sleep through the night and feel fully rested in the morning for the first time in years! He constantly comments that it is one of the best gifts he has ever received and I feel the same way now that I am able to sleep through the night next to him!

After watching his frustration with other snore aid products, I bought this item and hoped it would help a bit. This product works better than any other more invasive remedy.

The 12X24X24 pillow is firm and keeps the user in a more upright position, lessening snoring. It can be rotated the other way to use as a leg rest too.

The product is a great value for the price compared to what the cost of surgery or any other more invasive remedy would cost.

The only negative is that I cannot find other color pillow covers.

I highly recommend this product....more info
  • Good quality
This is a quality product and great for people that need to keep their heads high for reading, watching TV, or for medical reasons. Would suggest purchasing an extra zippered cover. Another plus, as far as I'm concerned, is the pillow is odorless....more info
  • Good except for one problem
I purchased this wedge pillow for my acid reflux, and while it works good, it has a strong odor to it. As soon as I took off the plastic covering the very strong chemical smell hit me and I realized this would not do unless I was able to mask it. So I have two large cotton towels covering it and it seems to work somewhat better.. This may not be a problem with some people but I am very sensitive to strong odors.....more info
  • No more neck pain!
I LOVE this bed wedge! No more stacking pillows to watch TV and no more acid reflux at night! It arrived promptly and in excellent condition. I recommend it to everyone :)...more info

  • Seemed to work great
I ordered this bed wedge for my fiance because she just had back surgery and needed the extra support when lying down. It seemed to work great for her. I read the other reviews of people saying that it's "too hard" but she liked it. If the foam were any softer the wedge wouldn't retain it's shape with your weight on it....more info

  • how my bed wedge helps me
i have acid feflux ,gerd, .the wedge helps to reduce the acid reflux . if i lay down flat ihave a hard time breathing and the gerd will reflux all the way back into my throat . it rases me up enough that the reflux stays down and i sleep better....more info
  • Not just for GERD!
We purchased this as an alternative to the Liberator Ramp sex pillow. Not as fancy but it works as a much cheaper substitute. Better than spending the $100+ on the ramp. We are even considering making our own cover....more info
  • I can sleep so much better
I can finally sleep in bed. Before I bought this pillow I had to sleep sitting up in a chair. I still have acid reflux, but now i can sleep in my bed. Thanks Pam...more info
  • Good Buy
Good value for the money. I have GERD and I bought two of these in different sizes for those nights when I just can't lie flat in bed. The foam is a bit firm and my back hurts if I try to lie on my side, but for lying on my back it is helpful...too bad it isn't that memory foam or tempurpedic foam. That would, I think, make it even better for those of us who have multiple health issues such as back problems as well as digestive issues. Still, I am happy with the purchase....more info
  • Works Well
I ordered the bed wedge because I was getting surgery on my nose and needed to sleep elevated for a few weeks after the procedure. The wedge does the trick and it sure beats sleeping on pillows!

I agonized over whether to buy the tall wedge (this one) or a shorter one, and went for the height in the end. I only slipped off of it one night. wearing full PJs helps prevent this. More friction.

I find the wedge most comfortable with two soft pillows on it: one for my lower back and the other to sit under my neck and support my head rolling to either side.

I sleep fine on the wedge, but now that I'm through my recovery, I'm back to sleeping flat. I'll save the wedge for nights when my hiatal hernea is bothering me. ...more info

  • Bed Wedge - Foam Wedge Bed Pillow 12" x 24" 'x 24" w/ white pillow cover by Duro-Med
I've been trying to use this pillow for about a month but I find it difficult to get used to - not that its a bad product - but that it is so high and so firm. When I do use it, I snore much less. I haven't given up yet, I'm using a very soft pillow over it and that does help....more info
  • Nice!
I had one of these many years ago that over time (20+ years) just fell apart and had been searching for a replacement. I found a few places on-line where I could order a custom made wedge for roughly 2 to 3 times the cost of this item - more than I thought it was worth. I was pleased to find this item on Amazon at a much more reasonable price. The foam is a bit stiffer than the previous one that I had, but after 1-2 days it was not a problem. It was well packaged - wrapped in a plastic bag inside of the shipping box - so no chance to get wet as some others had complained. I highly recommend....more info
  • uncomfortable
I recently had a hysterectomy and thought that this would be a good investment. I wanted to be able to sit up and do some work on the computer. This wedge was very uncomfortable. I am very unhappy with it. if you have to be in bed for along time this is not a good choice. It will end up hurting your back as much as your incision. :( sorry hate writing bad reviews....more info
  • Very firm
Very firm, high quality foam that holds my husband at a comfortable incline. He is able to roll from side to side, even with his breathing aparatus. As an ALS patient, the respiratory therapist recommended sleeping on an incline which has, indeed, improved his sleep. He also adds his favorite pillow on top. I plan to order one for myself, as it is great for reading or sitting up in bed when turned upright! This wedge pillow has fully met our needs. I would like to have access to another pillowcase-type cover that can be removed easily for washing. The zipper cover that comes with it fits tighly over the foam and really should be covered with something else to keep it clean....more info
  • Good Product
This pillow came in great condition. It has helped me sleep at night. I'm pregnant and had a really hard time sleeping and was about to buy a recliner just to sleep. This did the trick. I've also had a cold or allergies for the past week and this pillow has helped me to sleep due to that as well....more info

  • No reflux for me
I had terrible heartburn anytime I would Lie flat. I initially placed risers under the head of my bed to keep the acid down but I kept sliding down the bed and it was very difficult to sleep. I ordered the bed wedge. It came very quickly and I began using it immediately. It took a while to get used to sleeping on it but I dont get the heartburn anymore and I can finally get a full nights sleep. It is also great for when I want to sit up in bed and read or watch a little television....more info
  • 12" Bed Wedge
For Christmas, I bought this for my dad. He has acid reflux, heart problems, and he is a diabetic. When he tried it out, he said that the pillow is very comfortable and he loves it. He also said that it has been helping him. Actually, I have been thinking about buying one for myself, especially for watching T.V. at night. ...more info
