Customer Reviews:

  • Great daily morning snack
This product was recommended by my sister's OBGYN. She found that these berries helped relieve her heat flashes and night sweats as going through "the change". I began taking a handful of these each morning over a year ago. Since then I have had only a few minor heat flashes, have had rare instances of waking at 4 AM as was usual, and less mood swings. Being an elementary teacher I am exposed to many germs. As a benefit of taking these I have noticed that I jump back more quickly when sick, and am not sick as often. The dry bitter taste doesn't bother me as I take them while eating breakfast. My sister mixes them with craisins and other dried fruits. Several friends have also seen the benefits of these berries....more info
  • NOT JUST GOOD FOR YOU, BUT TASTE GOOD
I'm always looking for something to snack on that's healthy, but sometimes you'd get more flavor out of eating the package. These Goji berries are not just low calorie, low fat, low sodium, but organic and raw. Did I mention they taste good. I love them.

I purchased my first bag on Subscribe and Save and set it to deliver every six months in case. It's been about 2 weeks, I'm eating the last few and came back to reorder....more info
  • An expensive but healthy food
These berries are thought to be one of the one of the healthiest natural foods. There are many "stories" about the amazing benefits of these berries, many of which may be true, but a few verifiable facts about them (in dried form) follow:
    1) High protein (about 12%), and are a complete protein. This is good for anybody, but particularly noteworthy to vegans, who choose not to get their protein from meats.
    2) Decent fiber content (about 10%)
    3) 18 (!!) amino acids
    4) Like most sweet fruits, high in carbs and calories. 100 grams give you about 350-380 calories; roughly 3/4 from carbs and 1/4 from fat.
    5) 6 vitamins, 8 amino acids, 11+ minerals (more in trace amounts)
    6) Carotenoids, unsaturated fatty acids (this is a good thing), phytosterols (help lower cholesterol), and other healthy (or theoretically healthy but not particularly well researched) phytochemicals.

Enough with the technical jargon. These berries are great in cereal, smoothies (once hydrated), and tea. For tea, try this:
Put water, a small number of berries (6-15ish) and a teabag in your cup, microwave for about a minute per teacup (time varies), drop a small amount in your favorite tea along with the teabag and let the berries and tea steep for about 3 minutes.
This adds a subtle character to green tea (plus an unusual, tasty snack to do with a few of the sips). The flavor seems to blend well with chai and jasmine too. This may work differently for those who use creamer.

I recommend that you try a bag, keeping in mind that you may need to soak the berries in water/tea/whatever in order to make them soft, and see what you think. I have found they make a great addition to my usual cereal-only breakfast because they give me a much-needed protein boost.
If you like them quite a lot, you may want to take the time to look for a supply in a nearby Asian foods store. I have heard they can be purchased at a lower cost in bulk.

  • The Ultimate Berry
Having consumed Himalania Goji Berries for over one year, the Navitas Naturals Goji Berry is a great addition to the exotic food market. The Navitas Goji is harder and drier than the Himalania Goji, but the flavor is much sweeter and better tasting.

I love the fact that they're raw, vegan, sun-dried, and free of chemicals and pesticides! Goji berries are believed to strengthen the immune system, increase energy and reduce fatigue, and reduce the threat of free radicals (due to HIGH levels of antioxidants). Gojis have highest ORAC score to date! The ORAC scale is a standardized test used to measure the total antioxidant potency of foods and nutritional supplements.

Definitely, one of my favorite foods!...more info
  • Not very a good taste
This berry is gross! It even made me sick! I would not advise any one to buy this item....more info

  • Good deal n Fresh, but not the best taste compared to other brands
Item came fresh and quick from the company the supplies them. However I've had a lot of goji berries and these aren't my favorite, but it was a great deal!...more info

My first taste of Goji Berries, very good..generous package, will buy again. The breakout food of the year, even though they have been used for centuries by chinese cooks.Buddist cooks also use goji berries.Listed in Dr.Pericone's 7 secrets to beauty....I'm so glad to have learned about this super food....more info
  • Yummy and Nutritious!
As other reviewers have noted, the berries do seem to make one feel more energized (and for this reason I would not eat them late at night before going to sleep). I have bought several brands of these berries and am pleased with the quality of this product (I also like the Navitas cacao powder). I took off one star for the rating because I am not sure if these berries are any better (in terms of growing and harvesting methods used and nutritional value) than those I found in San Francisco's Chinatown for a quarter of the price of this product. Overall, this is a high-quality product and I would recommend buying it from this site, especially if you do not live near a Chinatown.

According to the product label, these berries are wild crafted and sun dried in Tibet and are packaged in a resealable plastic pouch in California. They last for about one year at room temperature....more info
  • Gogi berries
Well, Amazon asked for a review of the gogi berries and what can you say? They are gogi berries. The product arrived in a timely manner and in perfect condition. They taste the same as other gogi berries that I have had and since gogi berries have a reputation for making you happy, perhaps they are just as effective, too. Not a bad deal for the money....more info
  • Affordible Way To Get This Superfood
Amazon has the best price I've seen on Goji Berries which can be up to $15 - $19 per pound. These puppies are a superfood and give you a ton of what your body needs. I eat them mixed in with Raw Coco Nibs (by the same company) for a great raw snack that keeps me going....more info
  • Don't get hyped up by the name Tibet.
When I first wrote this review, the product description had "Tibetan Plateau", "Tibet", and "Tibetan Goji Berries" all over the place. I'm glad to see it has been corrected just for the sake of consumer accuracy, although the product picture still shows "Tibetan Goji Berries" at the top.

I think this is a great product - my wife and I both like the taste and will continue to buy. I have purchased several different products from Navitas and have never had an issue (other than the product description on this item when I first purchased).

Don't buy into the marketing hype of a company that says their Goji berries are from the Tibetan Plateau. First off China has control of Tibet. So Tibet = China. Second the Tibetan plateau where all these berries were supposedly grown is too cold and too dry for a berry producing plant. Search it for yourself. All Goji and Wolfberry products are "Imported from China".

  • Excellent, a little dry
These goji berries are very good -- nice quality, very good flavor -- and also a great price. They are a little hard and over dried for my taste, however. I'll buy them again, though....more info

  • Thumbs Up
I have ordered these berries many times. Allthough they do not taste like any chocolate or any Hersheys bar, they are very nutritious and keep me energized. I have already ordered atleast 30 packs. I would recommend them for anyone....more info
  • Great Goji berries.
This is my third brand of gojis. I found Navitas gojis to be better than the others. They are soft and chewy, not dry. I eat them mixed with raw almonds, and organic shredded coconut for a bastardized morning granola. Delicious. ...more info

  • Navitas Sun Dried Goji Berries.
These berries are delicious, and I have purchased other products from Navitas. They are all of great quality and taste, safely shipped, nicely packaged. My compliments to the company for their quality products and customer service! The goji berries are health hearty, taste great alone, on oatmeal, steeped in tea, you name it. And because they are from Tibet in origin, I know they are grown and harvested in a clean healthy invironment. Thanks for your quality products, I will come back to Navitas when I need more!...more info
  • A Wonderful Source of Nutrition!
I am a regular purchaser of dried Goji berries, and the Navitas product has been excellent. I enjoy it softened in tea. I appreciate the taste as well as knowing that I am promoting healthy living....more info
  • IMPORTANT INFO!
OK. I got these berries very quickly. They taste a little dry, like tea bits really. You can reconstitute them in water very quickly, but remember to drink whatever juice is leftover to get all of the nutrients. They have a very distinct taste: some will like it, some won't. But, here is the *IMPORTANT INFO* Goji berries should not ever be eaten when you are having intestinal problems. My husband caught an intestinal bug from our daughter, and then we received the berries, which he LOVES and ate in huge handfulls; well, goji berries should NEVER be eaten when you have diarreah, ever. I found this information on several websites because we were wondering what was causing him so much pain. Well, he has a bug, but it was made much worse by the large amount of dried berries he ate. ****NOW, on the other hand, these berries are GREAT for constipation, and are good for just snacking on in moderation. I wouldn't go and eat four huge handfulls in two days like my silly husband did. No doubt, they are great for you. So, this is a good review with just one caveat. It's not listed on this page, so I thought it was important for you all to know when not to eat this superfood....more info
  • Tastes like fish
These may be healthy, but mine went into the trash. I couldn't get anyone to eat them. The taste is like a fishy berry. ...more info

  • Happy Berries

  • Healthiest Goji berry you can find.
No preservatives, no additives, organic, sun dried - many other "better" tasting Goji berries have sugar or more often high fructose corn syrup added. I like the taste, great with tea....more info
  • live healthy
I put the Goji berries into my hot steel cut oat cereal to soften them a little bit. The knowledge of having something totally unprocessed makes it even more appealing. If you never had them, they taste like a combination of raisins and cranberries....more info
  • Top quality at a great price
Whether you believe the goji berry hype or not, Navitas Naturals goji berries are USDA certified organic and are of a high quality compared to bulk goji berries available in asian markets. I would be very concerned about pesticide content in bulk berries. Amazon's price for this size package is amazing; my local health food store charges $23.99 for this exact product. If you can use the occasional Amazon coupon with your purchcase then the per bag price is even lower. These berries taste great added to oatmeal just before finishing cooking, added to a cup of tea, or just out of hand like a raisin....more info
  • healthy antioxident
I heard Dr Oz on TV (Oprah) say this is the highest anti oxident out there right now. I put them in a morning protein shake and it adds a new flavor that is great. alone they are rather intense, but in or on food, tasty and most healthy......more info
  • Tasty berries!
These supposedly have some of the highest levels of antioxidants of any food, which is why I bought them. But I really like the taste too. It's not too far off from a cross between a tomato and a strawberry, but a very little bit bitter at times.

Overall they taste great, though some kids might not like them due to the slight bitterness.

Edit: A few of these berries have a bit of mold on them. I would reduce my ranking by 1 star if I could....more info
  • Tibetian Goji Berries
Did not have enough experience yet to confirm health benefits of the berrries. Eating berries 1 to three tea spoons daily do not seem to have any side affects. The beneficial effects of the berries, if any, remain to be seen....more info
  • Super wonderful berries, and highly nutritious--great price!!
The customer who wrote about these not being organic is a total ijit. What could be more organic than growing wild in a pristine mountain environment, and then hand-picked and sun-dried by glove-wearing natives who have been harvesting them for centuries? You don't get much pure than that. Who cares if they are certified or not?

These do not taste burnt. They taste incredible and make you feel really good. My whole family totally loves them.

There is a mistake in the description that says they are incan berries. They are not. ...more info
  • An Excellent Source of Nutrition
I love Goji berries and often eat them after my weight work-outs. I also throw them in the following cereal (raw & vegan), they make a perfect harmony in this recipe as follows:

Oatmeal Cereal Raw & Vegan - the Most Wholesome Cereal on Planet Earth: inspired to me by the Wonderful Magic Man, Peter Ragnar:

1/4 to 1/2 cup whole Oat Groats these look like buff colored pieces of rice, you will need to sprout them in filtered water one to two nights beforehand. So they will be ready for you in the morning. I think two days of soaking is best.

    1/4 cup Goji Berries
    3/4 cup blueberries
slices of banana and any other berry or fruit as you wish
1 cup refrigerated filtered water (trust me you want it cold..tastes good)
    1/2 t vanilla extract
    Himalayan Salt or Sea Salt
4 brazil nuts (soaking unnecessary because these don't have enzyme inhibitors)
2 T hemp seeds (Nutiva brand is good)
    a bit of honey optional

In good blender pour 1 cup water, salt to taste, vanilla extract, hemp, brazil buts and honey if you want it (I don't use it). Blend up really well until a smooth creamy milk forms - this is amazing milk folks!

Now put all soaked oat groats, berries and whatnot in a cereal bowl. Pour over with the luscious milk you just made and eat slow, chew well because the stomach has no teeth :o) Add more a salt if needed. Don't forget to take your E 3 Live every morning - E 3 Live dot com.

  • Berry Good
This is the first time I purchased Goji Berries after reading all of the health benefits they have. The Navitas Naturals Brand through Amazon was the lowest priced I found on the web. I really like the fact that there are no additives at all. They don't taste like any berry I've eaten. They are surprisingly moist and sometimes slightly sweet and other times a bit bitter (if you pop a handful into your mouth.) I found a small amount does satisfy your hunger quite well I eat them by themselves for lunch. They are really good mixed with chocolate chips, thrown in a salad even baked in cookies. I would certainly buy them again. ...more info
