Customer Reviews:
great Works great as long as you are patient with the directions and willing to play with it to figure out how to make it work the way you want. Directions are really bad. At turbo speed is very noisy. Keeps a large area comfortable if turned on before it gets really hot and then kept on low. Heater seems to work fine....more info
Don't Buy anything made by AMCOR I am beyond belief with my experience buying this unit. If you buy this unit and it has a scratch, send it back. I got my unit for my pregnant wife to make her bedrest more confortable. The unit arrived and the remote didn't work at all. (part of the reason I bought the unit, as my wife was most likely going to be on bedrest since she is carrying twins). I called they sent a new remote, which also didn't work. The unit actually stopped working, and BrilliantStore could no longer help me because it was outside the 30 Day mark, just a week, but outside that period. I was then refered to AMCOR. I have called them twice since the unit stopped working over a 3 week period, and have not even received a call back. It seems they have to "email" corporate for dispositions on any kind of action on a claim. Meanwhile, I have spent $620 on a flaming pile of junk ( litterally it blows HOT air ), and my poor wife is still uncomfortable. My advice is to go to HomeDepot or Lowe's so you can walk the broken merchandise back into the store and at least have the satisfaction of talking to someone face to face. Just a side note, your credit card can't help either (read CapitolOne Mastercard here) because the extended warranty they provide doesn't cover this; you have to wait until the manufacturer's warranty runs out and then they can "reassess" the claim. They also could not help with the 30 Day warranty that BrilliantStore provides. Seems the credit cards like to take everyone's money (your finance charges, and the merchants transaction fees), but helping is not in their charter....more info
Amcor A/C The unit is well designed and works very well for our application - cooling a small room with some computer equipment. I like the design and controls. The unit has worked flawlessly in the two months we've had it running....more info
Great alternative to permanent air conditioning system. I bought the PLM16000EH from another web site (due to free shipping) and must say that it is a great product. I was looking for a way to heat and cool my FROG due to the fact that the central air conditioning was not routed up there. Getting several different quotes for installing central air conditioning or a mini split air conditioning system, the cheapest I was getting was around $2700.00. I figured I was stuck with a window unit, which I did not like do to the fact it is an eye sore, plus we only have one window in the FROG and it really cut down on the natural light. When I came across this product, I was immediately intrigued, and after reading several positive reviews decided to purchase it. I just installed it today, and am quite pleased. Here is what I found so far:
PROS
* Strong system that will easily cool a 500 sq ft room
* Very pleasing to the eye. Sleek silver case with blue
LCD screen.
* LCD remote very functional and can easily set temp,
fan speed, timer, and more.
* Quick set up.
CONS
* Though quieter than any window unit I have seen, you still
know its there when your watching TV.
* Need a special outlet installed on a 20 amp circuit. I
already had a 20 amp circuit available, so changing outlets
took no time.
* There is an exhaust hose that needs to be routed through a window and a water bucket that needs to get drained weekly.
There is an option to route a drain line instead of the
bucket, and I will do that.
Overall, I am very pleased with this system. For people looking for a cheaper alternative to air conditioning needs, this is definately the system for you. I will write a review in the winter on how the heater function works.
