Customer Reviews: - cosco $87.99 same appliance w/book and extra blade
this is my first juicer. I love it. Messy, a little, but I can't pour a glass of milk without spilling some. Anyway, I found it easy to assemble and disassemble and very easy to clean. I just take my faucet sprayer and sprayed off the parts. Upon removing it from the box, and wiping it out with a damp cloth I prepared my fruits and made 3 of the recipes from the book that comes with it; about 6 full glasses. All of them were amazingly delicious! ...more info - this thing wrings out your veggies like crazy
I was amazed how this thing got every bit of fluid out of everything I put in it. Even something like parsley. I dont like the clean up. The book recommended putting a plastic bag over the pulp container for easier clean up. I am going to give that a try. I am hungry and I am trying not to eat for the next two days so my jeans fit like they used to ....gotta go juice !...more info - Misleading Advertising
When I received this product and take it apart I realized it was not so easy as they show on tv, to make different kind of juices, and also has so many parts to clean, that even if they said they were dishwasher safe, they would take almost all the upper part of the dishwasher.
Also there were some fruits you cannot use and others, like bananas, totally forbiden.
A complete fiasco and I returned it the following day.
Sincerely, Alda Lagomarsino...more info - one carrot and the motor blew-very dissapointing- I should have listened to the reviews
I did a lot of research on juicers and all signs point to not buying this juicer. But the infomercials made we want to try it. So I bought one at a decent price and after spedning a good deal of time putting it together and learning how to use it I put one carrot in it and the motor blew, smoke came out, and my JLL juicer was dead.
I almost gave it a second chance by getting a replacement but after more research and contemplation I decided to go with the Breville and it is awesome!! Save yourself sometime and don't buy the JLL juicer. ...more info - disappointed
I am very disappointed with the Jack juicer. I don't mind the cleaning and think its much easier to just hand wash instead of dishwasher, but my disappointment is in the pulp. I get alot of wet pulp most of the time. I thought there'd be less pulp and drier as the commercial claims. I'm concerned about all that wasted nutrition thats going into the trash instead of in my stomach. I'd love to ask him why he makes these claims about % more juice than other juicers et cetera. I like the juice and like that its fresh and without added sugar and all sorts but theres so much waste! ...more info - I love my juicer
I love my juicer, but I hate taking it all apart to clean after each use.
I was watching the info-mercial yesterday & it said the pulp comes out minimul & bone dry. Mine does not do that. I have a lot of wet pulp. It also said that the skin & stems would be chopped up into juice & mine come out in the pulp container.
For the most part I love it though. It is very easy to use & the juice is great....more info - Great Product / Great Juice / Cleaning Nightmare
If you want to get a REAL natural juice you must have to get this product, You can prepare an apple martini with natural apple juice... For example.
Try to use the device when you have time to wash it... The Power Juicer is Dishwasher safe but anyway you spend a lot of time separating all the pieces.
Do not use Strawberry, Banana or Avocado... Try it with Apples, Pears, Papaya, Peach, Pineapple, Broccoli, Carrots and you'll love it...

I honestly do not understand how some people say it does "great" with the harder fruits and vegetables - I actually called the customer care # and looked online for answers because I was so sure I was doing something wrong. Were my carrot pieces the wrong size? Should I put two in at once? But nope, it's the power of advertising.
The Power Juicer Deluxe can just barely juice a carrot. It took me literally and truly 20 minutes to juice an 8oz. glass of carrot and beet juice. The instructions stress that you DO NOT press down on the feeder tube in an attempt to "hurry" the vegetables, and you know what? If I didn't press down on the feeder tube (again, for 20 minutes) then I would still have carrots sitting in the tube, blade spinning, and that was about a week ago.
So, okay, lets say you do actually have to press on the feeder tube. For 20 minutes? Really? I even wondered if there was something wrong with my carrots, which is when I snapped out of it. If this thing can't even juice a carrot (it went through the apples and cucumber just fine) then it is simply of no use to me. To top it off, as other reviewers have pointed out, the pulp exhaust chute does not fit into the hopper (the hopper just sits under it), so if the whole thing moves a little (which it will, since you're going to be sweating and grunting in an attempt to getting a freakin' carrot to juice) then it sprays pulp across the counter and wall.
By the time I was done I honestly felt like I was in some kind of Candid Camera prank. It took me another 20 minutes to clean the juicer enough so I could pack it back in its box and get my money back.
40 minutes = 8oz. glass of juice...more info - Great machine - love it.
I'm quite suprised to see this machine didn't get better reviews. I admit I have nothing to compare it to since I've never owned another juicer besides this one, but this does the job and does it well. I am single so I just make one glass of juice every morning, using some combination of the following: apples, carrots, kale, parsley, oranges, spinach, cucumbers, ginger, chard, pears, grapefruit and celery. I am able to put a whole [small] apple in and it pulvarizes it with no problems. If you're jucing leafy greens, make sure to roll them up tightly and put enough in the shute [at least a big handful] otherwise it just kind of floats around in there and hoovers above the blade. I can't speak for those who are making large family-sized batches of juice, and whatever problems they may run into doing that, but again - works fantastic for one person.
The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of five is that it is a pain in the behind to clean simply because there so many parts to it. You have to clean the pulp-catcher, the lid, the mesh strainer, the piece that pushes the produce down, the cylinder around the base, and the base itself [if any juice/pulp got on it]. That's a lot of work for 1 cup of juice! They should design it for easier clean up. You also can't make a big batch and just stick it in the fridge for a few days. (Since fresh juice isn't pasteurized and doesn't contain perservatives, it will go rancid quickly). ...more info - Juicemania!
I am very happy with this product. It is a great piece of machinery at a fair price. My blood pressure has dropped within the first 2 weeks of juicing....more info - Awesome Juicer!
Enjoy an awesome juicer that is efficient and produces a great glass of juice. Be sure to read the machine's manual to learn how to use the appliance most efficiently and what produce is best to juice. I have enjoyed having friend over for a juice party. Folks are amazed at the full flavor of their fruits and vegetables. Share the recipe book with friends and have them pick a favorite and bring the produce. It makes a fun party of sharing and drinking a healthy beverage....more info - Motor of juicer just stopped not even finishing 1 glass of apple juice
It took a while for my Power Juicer Pro to arrive since my cousin had to ship it from the US to the Philippines where I live.
I was so excited to use the juicer but we haven't even finished making 1 glass of apple juice and the motor just stopped. It wouldn't start again and we don't know what to do. If we send the item back to the US through courier, it would cost as much as the juicer so we made the most expensive half glass of apple juice ever! There's no quality control and I wouldn't buy Jack Lalanne again!...more info - $90 at Costco
it may be because i don't have anything to compare it to but its hard to imagine juice tasting better than what i get out of this thing. even veggies i don't like come out tasting great if i add two apples and an orange. the pulp that comes out is almost bone dry so i think I'm getting every drop of juice i can get. the reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is the spout where the juice comes out is only high enough for an 8 ounce glass. I'm sure there is some reason behind the design but it is annoying to have to keep using 8oz glasses to fill regular sized ones. other than that this thing is great,[...].

Okay is sounds like a great idea, make your own fruit juice. It is fresh and healthy. Okay now here is the reality. This machine throws chips of fruit all over the place and will make a mess of you kitchen. The part that is supposed to catch the fruit peals does not help either. Not to mention the fact that this machine is very difficult to clean and it does get very messy. Save your money and use it to buy fruit juice at the supermarket....more info - A Healthy Lifestyle Change
Is it hard to eat your vegetables and have enough fruit servings in a day? It was for me; so I decided to buy another juicer. My last juicer had a very small spout and you had to cut up everything before you put it into the juicer; and it was extremely noisy. I got rid of it because it did not measure up.
I purchased the Jack LaLanne Power Juicer and have been very pleased with it. I read the other reviews and I will try to respond to them as well based upon my own experiences. First, for me the juicer is excellent. I juice fruits and most vegetables. You have to insert soft vegetables followed by hard vegetables for it to work optimally. I have had no problems following the directions which indicate that this works best.
I have made some wonderful drinks with the Power Juicer. Here is one called the Energy Boost Drink which I love:
1 Carrot
1 Celery Stalk
1 Beet Root
Parsley
Lettuce
Watercress
Spinach
3 Tomatoes
Salt To Taste
It is terrific and the machine does an exceptional job with very little pulp at all.
I don't think the machine does as well with grasses. Especially if you are not following them up with a hard vegetable or fruit upon insertion.
However, the following fruits and vegetables have worked well for me (I have used all of these in juices so far):
FRUITS:
Pineapple, Apples, Guava, Papaya, Oranges, tomatoes, watermelon, cantaloupes, honeydew, limes, lemons, strawberries, grapes and blueberries only if followed by a hard fruit, grapefruit, mangoes, raspberries only if followed by a hard fruit, kiwi, peaches (pitted), pears
VEGETABLES AND HERBS:
Carrots, Celery, Beet Root, Parsley, Lettuce, Watercress, Spinach, Tomatoes, Cucumber, Zucchini, Yellow Squash, Peppers, Ginger Root, Kale, Fennel Bulb, Horseradish Root, Garlic, Onion, Cilantro, Cauliflower, Broccoli, Lemongrass
I have the Power Juicer Deluxe (I BOUGHT IT IN A STORE - CALLED DELUXE) and I have now learned that there is a Power Juicer Elite which does even a better job with soft fruits, nuts and soy. In the Elite Model, you can make your own soy milk, almond milk while extracting the juice from the nuts, themselves. You can even put plums, peaches and cherries in whole. For the reviewer who is interested in a more advanced technology to handle the grasses and the soft fruits better, I would recommend spending the extra money and getting the Power Juicer Elite model.
Just be careful to check out which model you are actually getting because there are "slight" differences between them. I did find with the Deluxe model that the lemongrass and the berries if not followed by a hard fruit or vegetable did not work as well. However, the Power Juicer Elite should work well for those looking for soy technology (rice milk, coconut milk, almond milk, soy milk).
ABOUT THE DISHWASHER: I have found the dishwasher to be perfectly safe for all of the components, but I only put them on the top shelf. I would not trust them close to the heating element of the dishwasher. I honestly have put all components in the dishwasher with no problem (only top shelf). In fact, many times I clean the juicer components easily with the sprayer in less than 5 minutes; and it does not seem that difficult for me; although I use it every day and maybe I have gotten use to it.

So be careful what model you get, the Original is still the best bargain in white, it also comes in stainless and that in itself may be more expensive. If I wanted to upgrade, I would select the Elite. The original and all of its components are dishwasher safe; but only for the top shelf and not near any heating element. Grasses do not work optimally with the Original and you have to alternate soft fruits followed by hard ones as well. For those folks who are looking for that added power, the Elite should suffice and do an excellent job or look for a wheat grass juicer if that is your focus.
For me, the Original Deluxe is a terrific machine for the price and I am thinking now about upgrading to the Elite at some time in the future.
I love it and I love the juices.
Hope the above review gives you an idea of which model might work better for you. The Original in white can be found in stores for less.
Additionally, you can buy platforms so the machine sits higher and you can use a full size glass; much easier. I also prop mine on a cutting board and that helps too.
Enjoy your raw vegetables and fruits effortlessly. You can have seven raw vegetables a day in a single glass and never have to worry about getting enough vegetables again.

Jack LaLanne Stainless Steel Power Juicer
...more info - Jack LaLanne Juicer
I knew this product because I used to own a Jack Lalanne juicer and I loved it.
Unfortunately I had to return this particular kind because the material was not what I expected.
The company responded quickly for my return and gave a refund right away.
I was pleased with that.
I'll still recommend Jack Lalanne juicer to everybody.
...more info - I Really Wanted This to Work...
...But it's gone back. This juicer did not perform like the informercial. It was a real pain to juice with it. I have an older juicer, and I thought that the LaLanne would be an improvement, but I was very disappointed. The myth that you could just place in an apple or beet with no cutting, and it would seamlessly juice with little pressure was not true. Even after being cut in half, the apples and beets continually stalled the process, stuck on the blades, and I had to stop, dismantle the machine and cut them further (which is a very messy process). The pressure required to get fruit or vegetable to juice was not easy. The spout that is advertised to simply push up to stop the juice flow flopped about, never would stay up, and kept falling off. The middle piece that goes on top of the base was plastic and its stainless colored paint was chipping after one washing. The one star is because after all of this, there was probably more juice extracted, but only after an arduous process. It's back to the older juicer for me....more info - Don't buy this, there's a better CHEAPER option!!!
This juicer is just OK...I had a Juiceman Jr. about 10 years ago and this doesn't really work any better, in some ways it actually works worse, though I will say it's MUCH quieter which is nice. But the juice is quite pulpy and for some reason, the fruit/veg gets stuck a lot more than it should, this never happened with my Juiceman. In my first round of making juice with this I think I had to take the whole thing apart about 4 times because stuff just got stuck and this is made more difficult by the fact that you have an extra tool to loosen the blade. I suppose this is a safety feature and if you were only removing the blade to clean it, wouldn't be a big deal. But since it doesn't work well, you have to do it a lot and it becomes a real pain. I read the negative reviews on this juicer but saw some positive ones too so I thought I'd take a chance, I'm really not that picky. But it really is completely mediocre. I found a MUCH better one based on the Consumer Reports organization from the UK called Which.co.uk - the Breville Compact Juicer is cheaper, smaller, and a hundred times better. The juice is smooth, the motor is very powerful, nothing got stuck, the spout is bigger - just MUCH MUCH better for LESS MONEY!! I hate being negative, if this were a lot cheaper I would have given it maybe one more star, but there exists a much better juicer on the market for less money. I own both at the moment so I have really been able to do the side by side comparison and quite honestly, there is none - this one is going back to the store tomorrow (as soon as I clean it, ugh). Hope this helps, I just want everyone to be as happy with their purchase as I am with my new one, don't buy this if you want a happy juicing experience!...more info - Juice in the Pulp
According to the commercial, the pulp is supposed to be dry. I used this item once and I was able to extract more juice from the pulp. Don't waste your money. I wish I didn't. I ordered direct from the company and I was told that would have to pay for the shipping for the return and would not be refunded the $30 already charged for the shipping. Their customer service is horrible too....more info - Juices many hard fruits and veggies well but not soft or geens. Cleanup is lousy.
I bought this juicer to improve my jucing lifestyle and it has done that exactly. I juice more now than I ever did before. I have made many great juice drinks for myself. With no previous juicing experience in juicing, it has served me well.
The pulp that falls into the pulp catcher seems to be to moist. This leads me to believe that it's not getting most of the juice out of the fruits/veggies that I am hoping for. If I put any greens into it, even when I ball it up and follow it with hard veggie pushing down, It seems to get very little green juice. Soft fruits also do not seem to do that well. So there are fruit and veggies I do not put into my juicer.
Another problem I have is that pulp sometime come out the sides of the pulp catcher. And the cleaning up after this is a pain-in-the butt. To be exact, it is lousy. I love juicing so I bear with it.
I am looking for another juicer that will expand the number of fruits and vegetables that I can juice as well as a juicer that will get more juice out. The prices for fruits/veggies has gone up and I want more bang for the buck. I probably will invest in a masticating unit either a sinle auger or double even if they cost more.
This unit has given what I wanted initially, but has outlived it's use and capabilities for me. If you cannot afford a larger unit, this is a good unit as jack Lelanne sez....more info - achieve expectation
The machine works well as expected as explained in the user's manual
I enjoy using it
I need to learn how to make use of the pulp and fibers...more info - Good juicer
The only thing I found better in this unit than it's older model is that the food insertion hole is bigger. That is great for apples & such, but not good for carrots. The Carrots slide around & jump up & down, making it hard to get them juiced.
Clean up requires its wrench for the cutter area, but is easy to clean once apart.
It culls out all the bad stuff very well. Good juicer!...more info - Healthy juice, tedious machine
I'll say this: I used to be a massive pop drinker to the point where I can literally finish a 12 pack by myself in 2 days or so. With my New Years resolution to stop drinking the stuff (haven't had a drop since; see? A resolution actually being done), I decided to use my dad's new juicer he got for Christmas and strangely enough, I seem to be using it a lot more than he is or anyone else for that matter. The juice it makes is delicious and incredibly healthy, nearly clearing any problems the excessive pop drinking made...only the machine itself is a bit of a hassle.
Basically I really only use this machine for one thing: fruit drinks with my current favorite being a combination of orange, pineapples and bananas or switching out the pineapple for strawberries. Only the machine doesn't take the bananas and strawberries well so into the blender go which is of course perfect for mixing everything together. While there's usually less juice than I'd think there'd be, it's incredibly good in the end. The machine itself is quite easy to put together with at most 5 pieces to clean: the top, the food pusher, the blades, the base with the spout and the screen. The sound is nicely muted though sometimes some of the fruit is a bit tougher, requiring a more forceful push. Oh and by the way: instead of cleaning the pulp bin too, just use a plastic bag like from the supermarket. We always have ton extras anyway.
Now for the problems: one is that the machine maintenance is a bit too...shall we say, long. It's best to clean the machine after every use so the pulp doesn't cake and dry up and make cleaning a hassle and I like using paper towel for the lid and the spout base but doing the screen is rather annoying and it takes quite a bit of time to do the whole thing just for one glass. The other is the spout itself in that it's a bit too small with a plastic guard there for...something but the problem is that the groove inside the base isn't at a slant towards the spout so you might take everything off and all of a sudden find juice still in the groove.
For people looking for a healthy diet, it's always great to pick up a juicer though which particular one is a bit up in the air. This one is recommended, just be prepared for a lot of work afterwards....more info - juicer
I'm usually intimidated by new appliances, etc. so this juicer was in the box close to a month before I even took it out. This juicer is very easy to use, and comes assembled, so I was pleased. I have only used it once, but I am very delighted with it. It comes with 2 recipe booklets for making a variety of juices, plus recipes for healthy, whole grain muffins and cakes using the pulp. Use the food pusher as instructed so the veggies don't pop back out. Also for ease of cleaning it is suggested to line the pulp collector with a plastic bag. There is cleaning involved but to be expected and comes with the easy tool to disassemble the blade, I would buy it again in a second. Particularly great if you have your own garden and an excess of vegetables....more info - Works well but a little more work
 Works fine.
It has a additional chore compared to rest of the juicers, you have to screw the blade to the juicer every time you use but I love the feature of being able to stop the juice when I want...more info - Good value
First of all, I am not a gourmet juicer. I stick to the very basics. Apples and carrots mostly. I have never been disappointed.
I have had this for over two years. It is still going strong.
Bascially: easy to use, dependable over 2.5 years. I am not sure if my health has improved or if I will live longer because of it... but my 3 year old loves her apple/carrot juice. If she is happy, then I am happy....more info - LaLanne's Juicer
This is the best juicer ever. We had another model we got as a gift and it sounded like a jet turbo warming up, The LaLanne juicer has to be 10 times quieter. It seems like the pulp is almost dry. It really does what the infomercials say it does but Amazon had the best price. We got the stainless model for a few bucks more but the white one has the same innards, I just liked the black and stainless trim better. Cleans up easy too, what more is there?...more info - Bought and returned without using!
I just bought this juicer last night from Walmart for about $130 Canadian. It's a nice looking flashy juicer, but after reading all the mixed reviews, I've decided to return it tonight. In fact, I went out and bought the Breville Juice Fountain Elite 800JEXL. It's over twice the price of the Lalane juicer, but the fit and finish is exceptional along with the performance and quality. Reviews here on the Breville are stellar. The Breville makes the Lalane juicer look and perform like a toy!
So it's a few extra bucks more. Isn't it worth your health?!
April 17, 2009; The Breville Juice Fountain Elite is working out just stellar! This juicer squezes out jugs of juice from it's variable speed motor (up to 13K rpm) in just minutes! REAL stainless steel materials and excellent set-up make it sturdy and a snap to clean up! I'm glad I didn't waste my money on that weak motor plasticy-parted La Lanne unit!...more info - large juicer that you would end up not using
I used to own a smaller 'Juicemaster juicer' . I liked it a lot and used it quite frequently. It had its drawbacks like it didn't collect all the pulp waste which ended up messing up the kitchen counter & walls a bit. But it was easy to use & clean and thus I used it a lot.
The jack lallanes juicer : No matter how much I try to use it on a frequent basis, I end up not using it as much and it just sits there hogging up space.
First the pros of the juicer : large size feeder lets you put in almost a whole apple or an orange. Large size juice container.
cons: It is extremely difficult to clean. It has too many parts, the juice container, the lid, the feed-pusher, the pulp filter, the blade, the trash collector and it takes a whole 15 mins to clean all those just after getting two 8 oz glasses of juice. Its juice spout is designed so low that you cannot fit an 8 oz glas under it and I've ended up trying to tilt the glasses ultimately spilling the juice and making a mess. It doesn't extract as much juice as it could. I don't have a quantitave measure of it, but i have grabbed a bit of the pulp and squeezed it by hand and extracted more juice out of it. As a comparison, the pulp on my old juice master was very dry.
The parts are not dish washer safe at all as seemingly claimed. If you read the fine print, only the SS blade and pulp filter are dishwasher safe. All other parts are of very poor quality and got stained after I put them in the dishwasher. 8 out of 10 juicing attempts on this juicer have been very frustrating for me (ignoring the cleaning part which is always frustrating).
I would not recommend this juicer at all to anybody.
...more info - FABULOUS JUICER!
This machine exceeded my expectations! It is unbelievably quiet, the juice is yummy & healthy, the pulp is good for smoothies & soups, and cleanup is a piece of cake -- nothing is greasy, so you just scrape the pulp into your storage container, rinse the parts, brush the screen with the included veggie brush, & put it in the dish drainer. Why bother with the dishwasher? One tip: buy the cheap bags of the little apples. Another tip: if multiple people want different kind of juices, do the simple sweet ones first, followed by anything savory or exotic -- then clean just once. My goal is to use it at least once a day ... I think I'll go buy some tomatoes right now!...more info - carol
I bought this for my son for his birthday. He's enjoying using it and hopes to be "juicing" for some time....more info - Not diswaher safe
Works swell. Put it in the dishwasher and the plunger ballooned out so I couldn't use it. Cleaning is a hassel. It takes 10 minutes to make juice and clean the machine....more info - Great Juicer if you follow the operating manual.
I recieved this juicer for my birthday and after reading reviews I was a little worried.I was a little scared using it the first time. But after using it a couple of times I am completely happy. It's my first juicer and I never liked to eat fruit. But now I buy all these different fruits and try new juices. I can even convince my children to drink them. As long as you follow everything that is in the operating manual booklet there shouldn't be any problems. People wrote in the review that " Bananas gets stuck in machine. Well in the book it says "you can not juice Bananas". Cleaning this machine is easy too. You can put a plastic bag in plastic pulp collector that will make cleaning easier. I would recommend this Juicer. I read people complaint about carrots being stuck in Juicer. Well I just made some Carrot Orange Juice this morning and had no problems. I just added carrots with Orange together.
I'm happy with this Juicer. I wish I would have bought it long time ago. ...more info - Very disappointed.
Although this juicer does have some nice features notably a large spout and quiet operation, it only works well on hard, firm foods such as celery and large carrots. It jams with the small carrots and it is absolutely lousy at spinach and broccoli. It basically just cuts up spinach into small pieces and spews them out into the bin for the fiber. Our eight-year-old miracle juicer even with its small spout and noisy motor does a much better job!...more info - Broken after 18 months 3 times per week usages.

I was so disappointed in this machine. It does make great juice and it is easy to make it, but for the amount of time it takes to take it apart and clean it, it is just not worth it. It is definetly easier to clean and peel your own fruits and veggies and put them in the blender. It is also a pretty big machine, not something you would want to leave out on a kitchen counter all of the time....more info - Lalanne's Juicer is Bad
The juicer looks good but that is about it. I was in a hurry when I purchased it but I wished I would have heeded the advice from the bad reviews for this juicer and purchased from a different manufacturer. I've only used it a dozen times and the rim cover broke off - it was glued on to the housing. The machine is poorly built: plastic coating is peeling off; parts are cracking and falling apart - it is all plastic; the motor is very touchy- it shuts down in the middle of the cycle and you have to take it apart to start it up again. Avoid this juicer or you will me very disappointed like I have been. I feel like it going to break down any time even though I have pampered it like a baby. I love drinking fresh juices so I am prepared to spend more money and purchase a better quality juicer. There are much better made juicers on the market!...more info
