The SEBO name is viewed as the best manufacturer of upright vacuum cleaners in Europe, and is legendary for its vacuums durability. The Sebo X-series upright vacuum cleaners are an overall best pick among uprights. Lighter than most, the X vacuum series rewards with excellent suction, for thick berber, cotton, or wool carpet that has dirt embedded deep into the carpet fibers, not just surface particles, suitable for pet hair and high traffic areas. The Sebo S-Class Filtration System guarantees that dirt is picked up and filtered through a 3-layer filter bag, electrostatic microfilter, and exhaust filter inside the Sebo vacuum cleaner. Any vacuum cleaners meeting the S-Class standards are equivalent to meeting HEPA requirements to filter out 99.97% of pollens, household dust, dust mites and other allergens as small as 0.3 micrometers in size. For particles 1 micrometer and larger, the filtration rate is 100%. The X series offers one of the most consumer friendly features on the market: the upright vacuums have an electronic sensor that automatically adjusts the height of the brush roll as needed. While we recommend using the floor brush for tile, wood, and vinyl, those who like quick pick ups of dirt will appreciate the auto height adjustment. Onboard tools include crevice tool, upholstery tool and small dusting brush. Their unique slim line design means the vacuum has the ability to bend at the handle 180¡ã parallel to the floor, allowing the operator to reach far under beds and furniture with only 5.5" of clearance needed. Colors: White/gray and Navy/yellow. Weight: 16.7 lbs. Warranty: Manufacturer guaranteed for 3 years on non-wear parts, 5 years on motor and 1 year on labor for vacuums used in private households.

Expensive and poor performance I had great expectations for this vacuum before I began using it. It is well made and has a solid feel, but for $700 you would expect this. The problem is it has poor suction and consequently does not pick very well. And this already paltry suction degrades quickly as the bag fills. I have relegated this Sebo to the closet and have replaced it with a far superior Dyson which costs far less and has much greater vacuuming power.
1. solid and well made
2. clever automatic head height
3. excellent bag system
1. poor suction
2. prone to tip over when using the wand
3. when using wand the head brush keeps spinning, so the vacuum tends to run away along the floor.
4. performance degrades quickly as bag fills
5. bags and filters are hard to find and are expensive...more info
Exhaust filter needs constant replacement ...at great expense!!! And you can't just not replace it because the machine won't run if it's not replaced after, appromimately, every five bags. When it runs, it runs great (even though it is not great on bare floors, as it doesn't have the option to disengage the beater bar. The biggest problem is, it's very fussy as to when it will and will not run. It seems to be very temperamental immediately following a bag change. ...more info
Best vacuum I ever owned!!! I purchased this vacuum about a year ago after researching several models on the web. This was one of two that I considered. I'm VERY glad I chose this Sebo. It picks up extrememly well (I don't have pets) on carpet and on wood floor. I was skeptical of using it on wood floor because I thought it would shoot the dirt across the room like my former vacuum did. It didn't! It picks up everything. The bag is super easy to change. I haven't changed the filter yet. It was recommended to be changed after every 10 bag changes, but I still haven't gone through ten bags! I can't wait to buy another of these for upstairs and the basement. It's a little heavy to lug up and down the stairs, but that's my only complaint....more info
Overpriced underperformer As an allergic asthmatic with dogs, a "hospital grade" HEPA vacuum with intense suction seems to make a great deal of sense--even if it does cost more than the competition.
Turns out it doesn't pick up dog hair from carpet even with an infinite number of passes. Turns out the filter needs to be changed at high cost after a short period of time (you'll know when it's due because the recirculated air will smell like a warm diaper pail breathing from inside your machine).
To boot, you get all this in a package that looks as though it's straight from the 1979 design bin....more info
