Customer Reviews:

  • Pet Vet needs help!
We received Pet Vet this past Christmas. Like the software engineer that also could not get this running on his three machines, we couldn't get it to run on our three machines. We have the latest patches and video card updates, new machines and old machines. My wife teaches phd classes in computer science. I do AutoCAd work. We contacted the company and received no response. We spent a lot of time trying to get this to work. My daughter was very excited and is now disapointed. I would recommend that you avoid this product....more info
  • Not for younger children, you must be a good reader.
We purchased this for my son's 6th birthday. Luckily we bought it used at Game Stop and were able to immediately return it for another game. There is A LOT of reading very tiny print, words like disinfectant, parasite, infection, and ointment. Definitely not for the younger child. Even for the older it was very repetitive and a little boring....more info
  • Definitely for more advanced users...
Pretty intense game. Very involved. Lots of higher level reading....more info
  • Fun, but does not take long.
This game is a lot of fun when you're playing, but it doesn't last long; it barely took me a week to finish it. After you've finished, there's really nothing else to do.

Anyways- it's easy to care for the animal once you have it in the office. Sometimes it's hard to buy enough food and space, you run out of money.

Overall, its a fun gaming experience. ...more info
  • it's ok
I bought the game for my daughter, it is fun, but the language can not be changed, it is sad, she could have improved her french....more info

  • Cannot get it to work
I'm a software engineer, and despite my background, 3 different computers, video driver updates on all, I cannot get this to run. The company's website provides no contact information and is of almost no help.

My daughter is extremely disappointed. After hours of work on this, so am I. Avoid at all costs....more info
  • by my 8 yr old daughter
My eight year old daughter received this game for Christmas. She said, "This game is really fun, and you get to learn about how to take care of animals." She loves it, and plays it a lot....more info
  • Be a pet vet
I'm really into Pet Vet. It is a sim-type game. You are a perky/enthusiastic new Vet who has a need for healing animals and to build a practice. The first time I played it I had a really hard time stopping because something new would happen or I'd have to keep running back and forth between the sick animal houses and the office (which naturally are not in the same building). There are only 4 people (so far) in this town, plus their many clones, who bring in first guinea pigs, rabbits and birds, and then as your practice grows you get to treat cats and dogs. I haven't gotten to horses yet, but that will come. I like that the sim vet/you gives the patients the once over, then you get to "treat" them. I hope you get to hire an assistant...all that running around wears me out. The "days" in the game go by pretty fast, but not too fast...mostly I'm too busy to notice the clock much....There's a town where you get supplies, bank loans, training and such. It's very immersive and a lot of fun. Definitely 5 stars....more info
  • Christina - Valrico
This is the best game EVER....I want to be a vet when I grow up and this game lets me pretend with all the animals right now! FUN FUN FUN...more info
  • Same Thing
Let me tell you. I am a complete animal lover and at first this game is fun but during the first hour of playing it I had figured out that no matter what kind of animal your patient is they all have the same disease. There are probably only about ten different diseases.
I gave this game three stars because after a while it gets kind of boring. If you are thinking about getting this game for someone than you should really think about getting another game.
Also in the game the directions are hard to understand. When I first got the game I just walked around because I could not figure out what to do . So I would consider getting another game if I were you....more info
  • pet vet
This is a good game for anybody who wants to be a vet, or for anybody who like animals. I like animals so that is why I brought this game. In this game for nintendo ds you get to treat: birds, rabbits, guinea pigs, dogs, cats, and horses. Just be careful with this game because on one of the games that I started, in the middle of the game where it said end the day and go to the next, I pushed the button to go forward to the next day and the screen turned black on me, so I had to start another game. Hopefully that won't happen again....more info
  • Pet Vet Paw and Claws
Very realistic. Anyone loving to take care of animals will love this. You interact with pet owners and take care of your own animal. More for older kids. YOu learn responsiblity and animal care. Graphics are very realistic. Recommend for any teen who loves animals....more info
  • Has a cat named "Gigolo" already installed for your child
My daughter loves this toy and has played it a lot since Christmas. Today, she said "Mom, someone named their cat Giggly-o." Isn't that funny? I asked how it was spelled..yep, it was spelled more like something else - gigolo. ...more info
