  • Another Home Run in Dog Toys !!
I bought this for my best friend since she has a couple of yellow labs and she was looking for an easier way to throw a ball for them to chase. The fact that you do not have to touch the slimy ball once they bring it back is a MAJOR bonus !! I bought her both the regular size and the Jr. Breeze now lets my best friend know when it is time to play with the Chuck It. What a great idea / toy!!...more info

  • "Chuckit" has saved my dog from injuries by other dogs....
The "Chuckit" ball launcher has been a godsend and probably has saved my dog from injury on a number of occasions. Sounds like an odd testimony indeed, but I have a very sociable and trusting whippet and whippets are possibly one of the two fastest dogs on the planet. Before Jack was interested in chasing a ball, he would only want to entice dogs to chase him at the dog beach or dog park. Consequently, there have been dogs who became aggressive during the chase and have lain in wait for him to run by and have nipped and toppled him to get him under control. I realize this had to stop. So I bought a Chuckit and Jack was hooked immediately. Now he could care less about dogs chasing him - he is happy to greet them - but he does NOT want to be chased any longer. He is so addicted and hyperfocused on the ball. And IF a dog at the beach or park starts chasing him once I have "chucked" the ball, when the dog catches up with Jack, he just comes to a dead stop and will not let the dog chase him. Additionally, in two instances recently, I was able to use my chuck it to ward off dogs rushing towards us, off leash, with no owner in sight. They stayed clear of the crazy lady with the orange stick! So, it has been miraculous for us. Jack's brother is NOT interested in the ball and he has already had surgery for a serious dog attack - dogs chasing whippets - whippets with very thin skin and skin tears easily. I love my Chuckit launcher. But I ONLY buy the ULTRA balls which are orange rubber with a blue contrasting stripe because they bounce so nicely. ...more info
  • Chuckit Review
Purchased the chuckit for my 3 dogs. The lab looooves it. One of the others thinks it's a giant chew toy so we have to keep it out of her reach. :) Would recommend it for any dog that is a fetching machine....more info
  • Love the chuck it
My ball-crazy dogs love this product because it flings balls so much farther than can be hand-tossed! And I like it because it saves my arm from getting over-tired, and it's easy to use with either arm....more info
  • Man's other best friend
I have a border collie, a golden retreiver and a chocolate lab. We buy about 100 tennis balls a year. This toy is the best invention for fetching obsessed dogs. The best part of this toy is never having to touch the ball!...more info
  • FABULOUS
This is the BEST thing I could have purchased for our 2 Chesapeake Bay Retriever Puppies! This thing wears them out! I bought a couple, thinking that it would break eventually and I DON'T want to be without one! Definately worth the $$$...more info
  • 3 out of 4 Paws
First Impression: Someone gave me the Chuckit Ball Launcher as a gift. It seems to be for lazy humans. Fetch is not my favorite game, so we don't use this toy very often. However even Mom can make the ball go pretty far with the device. For the most part I just look at her like "Why did you throw the ball way over there?" then she goes and gets it for me. Don't get me wrong I like to chew on the ball... But why should I retrieve it? I'm not a retriever!

Conclusion: If you like to fetch, this is a great device for your parents to buy. They will be able to throw the ball farther, and they won't wear out as quickly. Plus if they are "old" they don't even have to bend over to pickup the ball! They can use the Launcher as a handle and press the cup onto the ball. Nifty. 3 out of 4 stars because Rottie's are not big on fetch. ...more info
  • An absolute must have!
I've had mine for 7 years now and found it is the by far the best way to exercise my tireless, ball-obsessed German Shepherd as well as my goofy, fetch-loving Lab mix puppy. When she was younger, I would take my Shepherd for daily 5 mile walks that would barely begin to drain her energy. This is the only thing I've found that would truly tire her out (without knocking myself out in the process). And even now at 7, she's like a puppy again every time she sees the Chuck-it come out. I had surgery on both hands this year and had a hard time throwing balls at all, never mind far enough for them to get any exercise. With this, I could still play ball with them, despite limited use of my hands. Best of all, as most other reviewers have already stated, you'll never have to touch a slimy grass-covered ball again. Kudos to the genius who created this toy! ...more info

  • I will never be without a Chuck It again in my life!
I absolutely love the Chuck It because it is the only "toy" I have ever found that is capable of tiring out my 2 year old pit bull who is built like a grayhound and will run til she falls over if I let her. Instead of having her bouncing off the walls or destroying stuff or digging holes in the yard because I don't have enough time to completely tire her out by taking her for the standard 45 minute walk/run, I can stand in my driveway and "chuck" the ball back and forth for 20 minutes or so and when we are done she is so exhausted her tongue is hanging to the ground! Not only is it convenient for me by allowing me to spend quality time playing with the dog every day, it also keeps her happy and healthy.
As for the people who say that the Chuck It releases the ball too early, that is not the fault of the device, it is the person launching it. There is definately a technique to correctly throwing the ball, it has to be a full wide arc of your arm and you cannot turn your wrist at all, otherwise the ball goes flying off to the side. It is kind of like bowling, you must be facing the direction you want the ball to go, do a wide completely overhand throw and do not turn your wrist. Anyone who can do that five or six times will not have a problem with when the ball is releasing. I also use regular tennis balls with the Chuck It every single day and I never have a problem with the ball being too small. As a matter of fact, the tennis balls are better because they have much more bounce to them compared to the Chuck It balls. My pup likes to jump and catch the ball, so it is better for us if the ball bounces a lot. Also if you play with the dog in the snow, you can count on loosing balls a lot (until the Spring time anyways) so it is much more economical to buy regular tennis balls.
Once again, I will never be without my Chuck It, it goes EVERYWHERE the dog goes and I always have a spare Chuck It in case by some freak chance the one I am using gets broken, I will have a spare!! ...more info
  • Absolutely cannot beat this toy for the price!
As an extension of your arm, you can easily whip the ball up to 50 yards away! Extremely simple design, but heavy duty plastic. A must have for energetic dogs that love to run....more info
  • Great throw and fetch toy!!
My dog loves to chase a tennis ball!! Since I "throw like a girl" I was never able to throw it very far (often straight into the ground!!) My son picked up our first Chuckit at a local store. What a difference! I can throw the ball really far and I don't have to touch a spitty ball, with my hand, to throw it again. I am very fortunate...I can bring my dog to work with me; so I had to purchase a second Chuckit for work. I couldn't find them in any stores and ordered it through Amazon. It arrived within the promised time frame and we (the dog and me) have been enjoying it every day since. I would highly recommend it to anyone who has a dog that loves to play catch. Again, don't forget the joy of not having to use your hand to pick up a spitty ball!!...more info
  • Wears out the dog without hurting my shoulder
There were two reasons I wanted a chuck it when we got our dog. Picking up gross, dirty, slobbery tennis balls is no fun and I have a bad shoulder. I have had three surgeries on my shoulder so my mobility with it is limited thus making throwing difficult. With the chuck it, I can throw a tennis ball across the entire dog park with a flick of the wrist. After the dog brings the ball back and drops it the tennis ball pushes back in to the chuck it and my hands never have to touch the ball.

It takes very little practice to learn how to use the chuck it and get the ball as far or as short as you want it to go. You can throw overhand, sidearm or underhand and get the results you want.

The chuck it works with any standard size tennis ball and is made of thick durable plastic. A must have for dogs who love to fetch balls. ...more info
  • Words can't convey how great this is.
If you have a dog that loves to play fetch, you gotta get one of these. My springer spaniel is "all ball, all the time" and I get so tired of throwing the slobbery ball over and over again. With this magnificent stick, you don't ever have to touch the tennis ball again. No dirty hands, no bending over to pick up the tennis ball, and with a little practice you can really throw the ball a long, long way. My dog and I are in love with it. I am buying one to keep at my vacation home and one for my brother's dog as well. I will never be without one of these again. Try it. ...more info
  • A Must have
Can't have a dog that chases the ball and not own this. It is very durable, throws the ball way futher than I could manage with my arm, and best of all you don't have to touch the ball when it is all slobbery and covered with mud and grass. I love this thing!...more info

My dog lives for his daily chuck it workout. just get out there with it and make the dog happy. i find side throwing with it is easier than overhead throwing. ...more info
  • Great!
This is great for people who can't throw the ball that far. Nice handle with a good grip, the ball will go tons farther then just throwing it. Also it's great with picking up the ball, I mean who wants to bend over all the time to pick up the ball? My dog enjoys running farther and I enjoy using the launcher. ...more info
  • the best money you will ever spend on your active dog.
My daughter bought this for me 8 years ago when we got our rescued "Golden Ridge-Back", Penny. She was 6 months old back then and we go to an open ball field in my neighborhood at least two times a day with the Chuck It and a tennis ball.

I usually throw the tennis ball 20 times with each trip. That works out to about 60,000 very hard throws so far. You can throw it 100 feet high, or 200 feet out. Penny like the "worm-burner" throw (long roll) the best beause it is most similar to a fleeing rabbit or squirrel.

Even though Penny is 8.5 years old, she still looks, runs, and acts like she is a puppy. Also, if you know anything about Ridge-backs, you know they have tremendous energy and endurance that must be tapped and worked out of them constantly.

Buy 2 or three and keep them in several locations so you always have one to use. Also ladies, you can pick up that slimey filthy ball with out using your hands!!...more info
  • Simply awesome!
After adopting two dogs last year and previously making fun of those owners who had Chuckits, I realized I was the one who was nutty for not having one. It's a great training tool that keeps our dogs from jumping on us and well exercised. If you dont have one, you gotta get one!...more info
