Customer Reviews:

  • Works great at first
I used this for about 2 months before one of the screws holding the clip on fell off. A few days later it stopped counting steps. This is the second Omron pedometer I've owned that eventually stopped working. They work fabulously for awhile and have excellent features, but like most things today, they don't last....more info
  • Great Product
This item came on time and works great. I haven't had any problems with it coming loose while I work and take my daily walk. I live on a farm and I was just curious as to how many steps I take daily. Thanks for a great product and fast delivery....more info
  • Love my pedometer!
This little pedometer is super easy to use and provides lots of great feedback on my daily activity. I love it!...more info
  • really good but don't drop it!
works great, very easy to use, but if you drop it once, twice or three times you will be ordeing a new one. they should include the leash for this one that comes with the $29 one. that would solve most of the dropping and popping of the pants thing....more info
  • This is a great pedometer
This pedometer is very convenient and comfortable to take it everywhere with you. It's quite small and easy to work with. I have used it for couple months...so far so good.
It makes you realized how much you walk a day. If you are conscious about being healthy, this pedometer is a nice tool to have.
Pro : small cheap and simple
Cons : it can slip off your belt...more info
  • It simply works
My company has an incentive thing to get us to walk, so they gave us cheap-o pedometers. After I wore 2 of them out, I got this Omron aerobic hip pedometer.

It is very simple to use. Set up took a minute, and after that there are only 2 buttons. Step count is very accurate like 1%, and it has never reset due to static or whatever like those other ones. Also I dropped it a few times with no ill effects.

I haven't checked mileage, but it seems to be in the ballpark at least.

The 7-day history is very convenient. Also the time of day is displayed.

My main suggestion is that the display either read upside down (so you can read the display when it is on your belt) or maybe the clip be adjustable so the display is either right side up or upside down depending on personal preference.

    Pros:
Simple to set up and use
    Very accurate step count
    Time of day is displayed
7-day history is convenient for company incentive program
Not fooled by bumpy car rides, etc.
    Seems to be rugged

    Cons:
Display is upside down when you look at it on your belt.
No splits within a day...more info
  • Works well.
Works well, easy to program I may have paid too much; recently saw a very similar item in a local department store for half the price. ...more info
  • Does the job
I've had my Omron pedometer for over 2 months now and haven't had a problem with it, even though I've dropped it a few times. Setting it up was easy and you only have to do it once. I wear mine all the time and check it regularly. It helps me be aware of the need to add more steps to my day. Since I started wearing it, I've almost doubled the amount of walking time. Great little product....more info

  • fun and easy
I bought two of these models, one for me and one for my wife. We wanted something simple to give us a yardstick for how much activity were are getting in a given day. Over the past month, we have not been disappointed with these pedometers. We actually have fun sharing our daily totals at the end of the day.

The comparisons between models that Amazon provides are very useful. This particular model shows the difference between total steps and steps that are counted as a part of moderate activity (plus the number of minutes for those steps). The latter is important for increasing your heart rate.

Personally, I don't consider myself terribly active, but it turns out that I walk about 6,000 steps in a given day -- that's much more than my wife, who works in a smaller, more confined space. So the pedometers have helpfully spurred us to walk a little bit more and bring our respective numbers up, closer to that ideal 10,000-step mark.

I'd say that this model is perfect for the low price. I don't really need much more than the basic features it provides....more info
  • Great pedometer

  • Great Product!
I have been using this product for months and I love it! It's the perfect size, easy to read, accurate, and convenient. I just bought one for my mom. Best pedometer I've used. I've even dropped it a few times and it's still running perfectly....more info

  • Hip Pedometer
The pedometer is easy to operate and gives an easy week review of my walking achievments. I would reccomend this product to anyone who wants to keep track of their daily steps. It sure keeps me on task....more info
  • Thanks to this, I am walking more.
This is a good, basic pedometer. Since wearing it, I have become more aware of how much I move daily and have started walking more. Not only am I hitting the track and walking around my neighborhood, I have found that my awareness of how much I am walking is actually encouraging me to walk more around my home and office.

Nice display and, from what I can tell, pretty accurate. Does the job for that I need done....more info

  • Omron Pedometer is one of the best for what I need.
This model of the Omron pedometer suits my needs exceptionally well. I had one that I lost, and wanted to replace it with the same model. Not only does it eliminate counting the "inadvertent" steps (walking across the room, wasling from the desk to the light switch, etc.), it keeps the current day and 7 previous days in memory. You can wear it in a number of places on your waistband or pocket, and the count is exceptionally accurate. If you only need to track steps taken, this is a fantastic model....more info

  • Step counter is spot on
I bought this pedometer based on the other reviews. After using it for a month I have to say I have been very pleased with it. It keeps 7 days of steps, which is nice since I do not always remember to record my steps every day. It also has a clock, which is nice for those of us who have problems wearing watches (something about my chemistry or electrical charge- I can kill a watch after just a month of wearing them, even expensive watches). It is dead on as far as actually recording steps. I have tested it time and time again and I have yet to be disappointed. A warning on reading the steps, it will start recording after the first 4 seconds of movements to avoid false readings. That threw me off at first until I read the directions again and found out that was normal. It is also very sturdy, since I have dropped it at least 4 times with no problems. I have had it slip off maybe 3 times, and I wear it everyday. This problem is easily solved. On the top of the clip is a small hole. Just thread a piece of string through the hole, tie it in a knot with some of the string hanging off in a loop and pin to your waistband with a safety pin. It cost about 10 cents and is less bulky then the leashes they sale.

    cons:
*bulky- it stick out more then I would like under my shirt.
*no calorie counter- oh well, still a great pedometer.
*awkward to read- the digital part faces out, so it is hard to look down and read how many steps you have taken at any given time. It is not enough to cause problems, it is just a quirk of mine.

The only thing I really do not like is its bulk. It is about as thick as Sharpie marker cap. I ordered another, thinner pedometer, but I will still use this one on occasion when my shirt is tucked in.

    ****Update****
The pedometer stopped working for no reason one day. The clock worked, but no step counting. I took the battery out and placed it back in- no change. I was not happy about it. I left it on the counter over night and it started working again. So just in case this happens to anyone else they may want to try leaving it sitting out after resetting it by taking the battery out....more info
  • Works Great, Likes To Roll Away..
The Omron Pedometer works awesome. It is a great size, seems accurate and looks attractive enough that I don't mind keeping it on my belt. But, thats the thing, apparently, like other pedometers, it doesn't actually want to STAY on my belt. Its older brother has a nice cord that you can securely clip to your belt so that if it falls, it wont roll away, but this one does.. and because of this I've actually lost two of them.

I still have mine, and use it weekly.. but a lot less than I used to as I really do not want to lose another one. Omron, built in those secure fasteners and you would have a perfect product here!!...more info
  • Simple and Basic.
This is a great simple and easy to use pedometer. A lot better than a cheapo, but great when you do not with all the bells and whistles others may come with that complicate things too much....more info
  • Best pedometer I have ever used
I'm on my 4th pedometer, and this is by far the best. I am not interested in distance, or calories, or anything other than counting my # of steps each day. It's easy to read, VERY accurate, and stores 7 days of counts. It took (literally) 30 seconds to set up the time of day and you are ready to go. All of my other pedometers were either overly complicated (for my intended use) or overly sensitive (some actually registered steps while riding in the car). I paid $10 for mine on Amazon (not sure why it is now $14, just one week later) and it is worth the money. I strive for 10,000 steps a day and if I don't quite get there, I take a longer evening walk. So I know it's helping my health, by simply being a cue to action for additional activity. Even my husband is wearing one now, and we compare steps at the end of the day. Highly recommended, one of my favorite purchases in recent memory....more info
  • Works great. Very easy to use and very accurate.

  • Just what I needed
I wanted a pedometer that wouldn't quit working 2 weeks after I bought it, or the first time it hit the ground. Didn't want a lot of bells and whistles - just something to help me track my walking. This pedometer has done a great job. It has a sturdy clip and even though it did fall off (just once in the last month) it didn't break into pieces as two previous pedometers did. It's simple to use and tracks for 7 days which is helpful. Easy to read as well. Excellent quality, great price -- I highly recommend it....more info
  • Good for staying on track
This pedometer is more accurate in counting calories then most pedometers that track only steps, because it takes weight into account. It is also good for staying on track and for charting calories burned in a food and excercise journal....more info
  • Excellent Pedometer - Great Value
    Hi,

I bought this pedometer along with a Omron scale and took advantage of the $10 discount...which in essence drops the price of this to a few bucks.

I have just started to adjust my lifestyle in terms of eating and exercise and therefore bought a new scale to monitor my weight. When purchasing that I saw this Pedometer and the $10 discount...so I figured I would eventually want one anyway since I am starting to use the treadmill...and considering that I have gadget envy...why not add another attachment to my hip.

The unit is very easy to setup and takes only a few moments to set the time and date. Once completed you are able to go back a few days to check the history....it will show you how many steps you took 1 day ago, 2 days ago, etc etc.... It helps you keep track of your progress....for me its a motivational tool. If I did 10,000 yesterday and 12,000 today then I know I am headed in the right direction.

5/5 - Great Value, Great Build Quality, and Excellent Software....more info
  • LOVE,LOVE,LOVE IT
This was recommended to me, and it will not disappoint. It is extremely accurate; there is no 'gait measurement' involved and it is very comfortable and lightweight;you don't even feel it. Because of this, it sits very flush and is not noticeable under clothes. I wear it every day and love how accurate it is. ...more info

  • Omron Pedometer HJ-151
This is my first pedometer and I LOVE it!

When I was looking for one I relied heavily on these reviews. I read SO many and this one seemed to fit everything I needed. It tracks steps, moderate steps, calories, distance and holds it all for 7 days. When it says 7 days it doesn't clear after Sunday. The 7th day just drops off the end which is great. It's REALLY easy to set up. It's small and just sits on my hip out of the way. It's also very durable. I have dropped it like three times and there's not even a scratch on it (that could be luck but I find it mention worthy).

Um what else? OH and its accurate. It won't start counting steps till you are stepping for 4 seconds. Then it will take the steps you took in those 4 seconds and add them to the on going count. If you don't move for 4 seconds it won't count the steps. So you don't get small bumps included in your counts.

It's a GREAT product and for the money...wow. BUY THIS ONE. :)

  • Great basic pedometer
Design is very comfortable to wear on the hip. No clicking sound is a nice feature. I like that it has a clock on it and it automatically resets to zero after midnight. No more having to remember to reset the counter. The 6-days before memory feature is great for those who are in step competitions or tracking for programs because you don't have to remember to write the number down/record it every day, since the pedometer stores a week's worth of numbers. Drawbacks: the sensor must be aligned properly to count steps. It does not count incidental steps - you must be walking for more than 4 seconds for it to begin counting. So in reality you are probably taking way more steps than this records, and this is not a good pedometer for those interested in counting steps they take around the house/going about daily business. It will not accurately capture all of those. The benefit is that you will end up taking more than 10,000 steps to make the pedometer read 10,000. I'm very happy with it for the price however....more info
  • Excellent Product
The Omron HJ-150 pedometer is a high quality product; durable and accurate. Be aware that the electronics endeavors to determine when steps are actually being taken vs movements that might trigger less accurate pedometers. I have found that most Omron products are of high quality. Be sure to order the strap. I have found mine dangling by the strap on at least three occassions....more info
  • Really works
This pedometer is easy to use. I really like the fact that it resets daily and how it keeps a weeks worth of steps. It's amazing how much you walk in a day and don't realize it....more info

  • Omron products are great
I believe that Omron makes the best pedometers around and this one is very good. I love the moderate step feature, however, I do miss the older mid-range pedometer that counted aerobic steps. It had a great feature that allowed you to change the step sensitivity. Since depending on the clothes you're wearing the pedometer often counts the steps differently, I always thought that was a great feature. This newer version will do though....more info
  • Omron Pedometer
This pedometer is great! I like that it's relatively flat so it doesn't get in the way when I'm running or walking. I've had others that are bulky causing them to catch on things and easily pull off & break. I can wear it under fitted clothes and it doesn't bulge out. I have worn it just during a workout as well as all throughout the day to monitor my fitness activity. It keeps great time and monitors my calories and steps run/walked quite acurately. It's easy to set up and use, and it's not as complicated to read as some of the others out there. It provides exactly the right amount of information that I am interested in--time of day, calories burned, time spent doing moderate activity, distance, average speed, and it automatically resets itself at midnight so you don't have to. For the price, this pedometer is definitely worth it! I highly recommend this one. ...more info

  • For Walkers Only
This little pedometer seems to work fine if you are interested in taking a walk that is continuous. It only starts registering steps after you've taken four. I work and it's a couple of steps over here (doesn't read them) 10 steps there (this it reads) and so on. I need to find one that registers more then steps only after you've taken four. Sure if I walk around the floor but I want the small groups registered also; so, I only gave it two stars because it's not right for me....more info
