Most treadmills are frightfully expensive, with bulky electric motors that power the treadmill while jacking up the price. No so the Easy-Up manual treadmill, which asks the user to power the belt instead. The treadmill is outfitted with a heavy-duty weighted flywheel and a sturdy 41.5-by-13.5-inch running belt that respond to your walking/jogging speed. The faster you run, the faster the belt spins, letting you reach whatever speed is comfortable. At the same time, the treadmill isn't completely low tech, as it offers a single-button electronics display that tracks your speed, distance, time, and calories (includes two AA batteries). And users with small homes or apartments will love the folding frame, which locks into the upright position and rolls away for easy storage in a closet or garage. The Easy-Up treadmill, which offers a maximum weight limit of 250 pounds, measures 46 by 50 by 21 inches (W x H x D) and carries a 90-day warranty on parts and a one-year warranty on the frame.

Walking is still considered one of the most beneficial cardiovascular exercises for people of all ages, body types, and fitness levels. As a fundamental form of aerobic training, walking has numerous physical benefits for the heart, lungs, and circulatory system, while also increasing muscle tone and burning fat calories. Treadmills provide a convenient way to regularly exercise in all weather conditions in the comfort and safety of your own home.
From beginners just starting an exercise regimen to advanced athletes looking to maintain their fitness level, anyone interested in getting and staying in shape can benefit greatly from regular use of a treadmill. Treadmills allow you to determine the pace, distance, and complexity of the workout based on your needs, all while watching television, talking on the telephone, or reading a magazine. Much easier on sensitive joints like the knees and hips, treadmill walking and running surfaces are typically long, padded platforms that allow ample room for a long stride and comfortable, low-impact walk or jog without the harsh contact of a concrete surface.
While many different types, styles, and price ranges of treadmills exist, many of them offer unique features like a fold-up design for easy storage, an electronic display monitor showing speed, distance, workout time, incline level, and burned calories, and EKG grip pulses to monitor the heart rate while exercising. Regardless of the simple to complex features you may choose, treadmills offer an array of aerobic exercise opportunities that will provide long-lasting beneficial cardiovascular results without a commute to the gym or a jog in the rain.

- Very, Very Noisy....Too irritating to want to exercise on the unit
I received it today and put it together myself and it's terrible. I didn't expect the world, but I did expect the noise level to not be as bad as it was. The grating noise it generates is because the belt (no matter how tight you make it) hangs just enough at the bottom to touch the 2 metal guides that keep the belt on track. The grating noise is so bad, I really have no intention of using the machine again and after putting it together I really don't have the strength to take it apart to return it. Bad buy.
Update* I fixed the noise issue but the track jerks and you can't get a good walking pace because it slips and jerks as you walk on it. If I make it loose, it will move to the left or the right, If I tighten, the tread won't move..
Update** I'm right now trying to figure out how to fit it into my small garbage can outside. What a waste of money.......more info
- Love this treadmill!
This is the perfect treadmill for my second floor apartment. I couldn't have anything too heavy and it gives me a great workout. It was very easy to assemble. My only complaint is that the screw provided for the odometer didn't do the job. I had to tape the odometer onto the hand rails, but no big deal. It's a great little treadmill....more info
- Ok for the wife- but not for 230-# me.
The belt sticks when I try to use it - but I'm a good 230 lbs - but the wife loves it - she's about half my weight. It works great for her. I use a schwinn ski machine....more info
- Delivered Friday. In trash bin Sunday.
This thing was so infuriating, I trashed it within 48 hours of receiving it. It had a mind of its own. The belt kept going to the right no matter what I did. I followed the directions diligently. I loosened the belt, centered it, and it immediately went right despite my doing the adjustments given in the manual.
I did get about 3 minutes of exercise before the belt folded over and I could do nothing with it. I was so infuriated, I just wanted to get rid of it, and I did. I had a Denise Austin one before and had no trouble with it for over a year. Bit this contraption had a mind of its own.
According to the other reviewers, I guess I just got a lemon....more info
- EXCELLENT transaction!
Completely flawless transaction! The treadmill arrived very shortly after. I assembled it and its been working great ever since!!!:)...more info
The treadmill arrived within 3 days of order, and was put together in less than an hour. It is very easy to move the belt walk on and is sturdy (I'm 5'2")- my husband, who is 6'1" says the tread is too short for him. I wanted this model to keep outside (under cover) for rainy and snowy days, and am satisfied for the price....more info
The treadmill is on an uphill angle. It is very easy to fall off. The screw head to the exercise computer broke off, and the remainder of the screw is stuck inside the screw hole. There is no phone number for the manufacturer on the treadmill or in the owners manual. Apparently it was on the box which we had already discarded before we realized we needed it. I would not recommend this product and would like to get rid of mine. ...more info
- Manual Treadmill Fits the Bill
We were looking for a treadmill that did not cost a fortune, was easily moved, and that gave you a good workout. The Phoenix fits the bill in all three ways. It was very easy to set up and tune, runs quietly and efficiently, and is helping us stay fit. When not wanted, it stands up and wheels away in seconds. It was an excellent purchase for us....more info
- Waste of money
Even tightening the belt the fullest, it was too lose to use. Don't buy if you're over 6' tall. Arrived with a broken computer circuit board. Piece of junk....more info
- Tough little workout...
This machine provides a tough little workout. It has an incline which I guess is supposed to help the belt turn... but it's a bit too steep, and I had to grip the hand rails to keep myself from sliding off the back of the machine. I fixed this by placing a 2x6 piece of lumber under the back "wheels" which lowered the incline percentage a bit. I had to push just a bit harder with my legs to turn the belt then, but I didn't have to pull so hard on the handrails then, to keep from falling off.
My heartrate also got way too high at the "regular" incline- around 168 bpm at the normal incline (I'm 19 weeks pregnant so this is too strenuous for me), but 150-155 bpm afterwards, which is more doable for me.
Nice sturdy machine though, and easy to assemble. ...more info
- Get What You Pay For :(
This product is not well made. The runner is thin and it doesn't look like it will hold up after use. We returned it the day after we purchased it. I was amazed at how fast we recevied the refund. I gave it two stars for the refund only....more info
I purchased this product after a decent amount of research - and evidently didn't do enough. I've owned manual treadmills before - a lot cheaper - and much better quality. THE BELT STICKS - THERE IS BARELY ANY FRICTION - which makes it very difficult to achieve any consistent exercise routine. DON'T BOTHER WASTING YOUR MONEY !!! ...more info
- Phoenix 98516 Easy UP Review
The Phoenix 98516 Easy UP Manual treadmill is a menace. It is difficult to use and control the speed. The treadmill is built so cheaply that the belt slides around, causing bursts of speed. It is rickety and you cannot adjust the incline up or down. It's garbage, I am going to donate it to charity....more info
- Waste of money
I bought this treadmill and returned it within 3 days. The sensor that controls the computer did not work. The treadmill's track is too short. I am 5 foot 7 and was unable to take a full stride on this thing. I would suggest buying something else or walking around the block instead of using this....more info
- good workout for the money
i received this item 3 days before it was scheduled. i was able to have it assembled and ready to use in about 10 minutes. i believe i am in decent shape, and i began feeling the workout in about 15 minutes. i didn't notice the belt slipping and it folds up very nicely, with a smal footprint when not in use. i should mention that i am kind of a short guy, about 5'7", so my stride is short, which made jogging fairly easy. anyone with a longer stride would probably have a hard time running on this, as the belt area is fairly short. all in all i am very happy with this purchase....more info
- IT'S THE BOMB!
I love this this treadmill, it is perfect for a quick workout....
fits in a corner, completely out of the way. I love the fact that
it was so easy to put together, and use....it's a really nice piece
of equipment for the price. heavey duty! sturdy!...more info
- Good for excercise
The trend mill was really easy to set up. All the tools, bolts, and parts were self evident and except for the little calorie meter which was pretty smashed, were solid. It really does fold up nicely when put away and I really enjoy it. It is well worth the money and if you are looking for a treadmill that is inexpensive, try this one....more info
- Good value if you just plan to use for walking
My first manual treadmill, and a decent product. Does take some time to get use to. Don't buy this if you expect to use this for running. Given that the treadmill needs to be at a small incline so your motion pushes the belt down and around, runnning is extremely difficult. Works well if you plan to use for fast walking in your home. ...more info
It did not arrive on time, and I attempted to contact them 3 times regarding a question I had regarding the product with no response. It took them almost a week to get back to me....more info
- Great value, easy storage, easy set up
I love this treadmill! My husband was able to set it up in 15 minutes. We did have problems with the wiring for the digital counter, luckily my husband was able to solder the wires back together.
The incline is just right for a hard workout. Too bad it doesn't go level for a longer workout. I wouldn't recommend this for someone with bad knees. The lowest incline is a little steep and you can really feel it in your knees. I haven't made it to 30 minutes at one time. You really work up a sweat in 10 minutes.
Watch the screws, they loosen up sometimes and you can tell cause it makes a knocking sound. Just tighten it back up and you're good to go.
I would highly recommend this for keeping in shape. It's a really good workout. I keep mine's in front of the TV so I can exercise while watching my favorite show. It's easy to fold up and lightweight with wheels to move around....more info

- A Good, Basic Treadmill
This is a fine item. The product was delivered as promised, with all parts attending. Includes sufficient tools for assembly. Easy to put together, and sturdily built. Because of the incline of the deck you get quite the workout. Comes with a nice little booklet/manual. Folds up and has cleverly placed rollers making stowage easy. ...more info
