Product Description

Clumping litter made from all-natural, whole kernel corn. Highly absorbent proteins and fibers found naturally in corn bind cat urine and odor molecules in the litter. This extra strength formula contains a plant derived, natural scent that helps keep litter fresh for multicat use. Biodegradable and nearly dust free.

Features:
  • Completely flushable, septic-safe, biodegradable litter that clumps and scoops easily
  • Made from all-natural whole-kernel corn that traps and absorbs urine and odors
  • Designed for households with multiple cats that need more powerful clumping and odor control
  • Extra strength comes from natural plant-derived ingredient; contains no perfumes or chemicals that may be harmful to cats
  • Recommended for both conventional and mechanical self-cleaning litter boxes

Customer Reviews:

  • Doesn't live up to the hype
I bought this after an in store demonstration wowed me. I got it home and phased it into my cats boxes only to find out that it doesn't hold the odor in nearly as well as they demonstrated it did in the store. I walk in the door and I can smell it right away. Also, the clumps are much bigger than what you will get with clay clumping litter, resulting in having to use more litter, as opposed to less. The litter doesn't live up to the hype. Pass on this....more info
  • Close to perfect
This litter is, in my book, about as good as it gets:

renewable material - supports our corn growers

biodegradable - you can compost it on your own property

flushable, BUT NOT IN COASTAL AREAS WHERE SEALS AND OTHER MARINE LIFE MAY BE TRHEATENED BY CERTAIN MICROORGANISMS FOUND IN CATS!!!

    clumps well

works well in automatic litter machine - it's softer than clay litters and thus easier on the plastic gears and other parts of the machine

    smells nice

    limited dust

The only area where it's possibly lacking is in odor control, especially in muggy weather, but in a dry climate it's fine....more info
  • This Stuff IS the BEST!
In over 20 years of having cats, this is the absolute BEST on the market. Stop using anything else, and buy this litter. You won't regret it!...more info
  • No dust; flushable.
I recently purchased the rolling litter box and decided to try this litter, since people recommended that both be used together. I had used Scoop Away and although it has great clumping, its dust was coating every surface of my small studio. I'm pretty pleased with this new litter for two main reasons: 1) NO dust and 2) it's completely flushable. I'm not sure why some people have so much trouble with odor, but I do not, perhaps because my box has a lid. One thing I notice is that the litter does tend to stick to my cats' (I have two that share one box) paws more than Scoop Away, which must be because it's lightweight (another pro - doesn't weigh a ton), but since they groom themselves after using their box, I'm not too upset about it. All in all, I think this is a more healthful and environmentally friendly litter that does a very good job. It's worth the high price of shipping since it's so much cheaper on Amazon than at pet stores. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a better alternative to Scoop Away....more info
  • Cats Hated This Litter
I bought this litter in hopes of having an alternative, healthy litter for my cats. Three weeks after use, my cats began going to the bathroom outside their boxes. I kept the boxes as clean as possible but it did not help. I've switched back to their old litter and the problems resolved. Also, the litter itself smells like a horse stall, even when it's clean. Not good....more info

  • "Best" is a bit strong
After many years as a very, very satisfied user of Feline Pine litter, my new kitten started having problems that led to intermittent streaks of peeing on the furniture. One of the things on the long laudry list of suggestions from the vet was to switch to a softer litter to encourage her back into the box.

I won't/can't use clay litter for both health and environmental reasons. I also needed something flushable, and hopefully good enough to handle two cats. World's Best Extra Strength seemed to fit the bill.

For the first few days I was very happy with it--great clumping, lightweight, flushable, etc. The cats seemed to like it too. But after a few days its ability to control odor dropped off precipitously. I thought the kitten was peeing outside the box again, but it WAS the box that stank, even though I was scooping several times a day. Cleaning and topping off with fresh litter helped, but it was still unacceptable.

I wound up buying Nature's Miracle Litter Treatment 2 lb, which made a difference. Logically you'd think I would just buy the Nature's Miracle litter, but since World's Best is more widely available I'm sticking with the combo for now.

There are some other negatives: it does track, as you'd expect, but even more than that my cat tends to kick it right out of the box. The cats also like to dig a hole and pee so it hits the box--I shake the box to cover the spot with litter and use a jumbo metal scoop with a straight edge to get under it and lift it out cleanly. It works for me, but I've seen others complain. And I have to ask, why do they even sell both regular and extra-strength, when they're the same price? Are there customers that don't want improved odor control?

The price is the biggest negative of all. Even just scooping and topping off, not changing the whole thing, I go through a bag more quickly than I'd like. Unfortunately I haven't found a cheaper option that meets my needs--and this does meet my needs, it could just be a little bit better and a lot cheaper....more info
  • Great litter
We discovered this product at a local pet store, where it was being demo'ed. They poured straight ammonia (we smelled it) into a vial with this litter, upon contact the odor was completely neutralized.

While we only have one cat, he can be a "smelly cat"...but it's not his fault. :) We keep our box in the house, since using this litter you would never know...and no more extra cat box deodorizers, etc.

Because this is more expensive than regular litter, we put a good layer on the bottom of his box, then cover with a layer of regular clumping cat litter. Now when he "digs to China" and aims for the back corner...no smell and no problems. The large bag is nice for a continued supply, when I cannot find the smaller bags on sale locally.

The bag arrived quickly, boxed, with no problems and was still less expensive than local pricing, even with the $5 extra weight charge. (34 lbs, but free base shipping.)

If you have multiple cats, or a "smelly cat", then this is the product for you!...more info
  • Best I've tried so far!
This litter is the best I've tried so far. My older, diabetic cat used to get the clay stuff trapped in his paws and on his hind legs and I would have to wash and scrub the attached "cement" a couple of times a day because he couldn't reach to clean himself any longer. With this stuff, no more "cement" paws! I use the extra-strength one, but still add a cup of baking soda (purchased cheaply at a restaurant supply store) when I change the litter every month, and it seems to keep the odours to a minimum. All our cats use it with no fuss whatsoever. I keep mats outside the boxes to prevent trails and my tile floors stay clean. All-in-all, I can't recommend this litter enough. It's great!...more info
  • it does clump, but the poo smells better than the litter
This litter does work great, especially for those flip over litter boxes. but it stinks so incredibly bad. it can be fresh litter, just put in, and yet it still has this horrible "corn meal" type odor. i'd rather smell the cat crap!...more info
  • Nice concept, not so great execution
What sells most people on clay litter, aside from its inexpensive cost, is that it truly masks odor and, as long as it's relatively fresh, carries no odor of its own. I tried really hard to adopt a more sustainable litter that both my cat and I could live with but it didn't work out so well. This was not the worst "natural" litter I tried, it really does mask litterbox odor, but unfortunately it has a scent of its own that my cat didn't like. For some reason she would go Number Two in this litter but would "think outside the box" for more... liquid pursuits. If your cat is not oversensitive to grain odor, this might work out for them, but ease them into it. You don't want the first indication that it's not working out to consist of funny smells emanating from the carpet, especially if you're renting. :( The odd part is, it wasn't a sudden switch that messed her up, because we started using clay litter again quite by accident--someone was helping me out during the move to a new apartment and bought litter for us, and it was Fresh Step, and she took right to it with no problems--as if to say, "Thank God, I can stand to go potty in my box again!"...more info
  • Best litter ever
This cat litter is amazing. It clumps very well and isn't dusty. It also lasts a really long time. I bought clay-based litter once when we went on vacation so the cats could have extra litter and that stuff was awful compared to World's Best.

Summary: True to it's name. This really is the world's best cat litter.

(Too bad it's not the world's cheapest!)...more info
  • Excellent Cat Litter
I was having problems with my cats ingesting the clay based litters and was looking for an alternative. I spent months and months trying different cat litters before settling on World's Best Cat Litter. Yes, there can be issues with odor control, but that is only a problem if your cat is the type that doesn't bury their business. This litter clumps better than clay based litter and is far less dusty. I've noticed a lot less little paw prints on the furniture, since I made the switch. The clumping power of this litter is so good, that if you are very tidy about scooping (which I am), you only need to do a complete litter change every 3-4 months! I scoop out used litter and replace it with fresh litter, twice daily, and the boxes stay clean for months (and I have 3 cats). I've tried both the original formula and the Extra Strength (multicat) formula and can tell you that there is no difference. If anything the Extra Strength formula tends to be a bit more dusty than the original formula. ...more info

"World's Best Cat Litter"? The name "Piss Corn" would more authentically describe its performance. Perhaps those who rate this litter highly had their cats dump in a litterbox of Cheerios previously......more info
  • Truly the best liter.
I never worried much about kitty liter before as my adult cat used the pet door to go outside. That all changed when I recently adopted some abandoned kittens. I purchased a large liter box for multiple cats. The liter box manufacturer stressed the importance of using clumping liter. I tried the standard brands that you find in the stores and found that they did not clump around urine. I read about this product and ordered the extra strength version to make sure that I had the best chance for success with the new liter box. The results were great. The liter has a pleasant smell and it clumps better than anything else that I have seen. It contains no perfumed crystals but will keep oders down if the cats do a good job of covering their business. I have a roll-away box so I just rock it back and forth a bit to kill any unpleasant smells. The only thing I would warn you about is that the clumps look like some sort of dog treat and my dog thinks that is just what they are. Bottom line is that I have already reordered and will continue to do so....more info
  • DOES NOT SMELL!!!
When you first open the bag, there is a smell of fresh horse food, but as soon as you put
a portion of the litter in the box, there is no smell at all.
I am grateful to this litter for not having some horrible perfume smell that when mixed with
    animal feces is sickening.
It is also flushable where most are not though they say they are....more info
  • The only litter I'll use
Clumps well, almost as good as clay litter - I've noticed that if you shake the urine clumps too much, they can crumble apart a little. Just something I noticed when I first started using it, doesn't happen to me anymore.

It's not harmful if swallowed (it's corn!), which is great if you have newborn kittens who don't know any better or have dogs that eat from the litter box if they get into it. No worries about your cats cleaning their paws and ingesting harmful clay litter either.

Although there are no perfumes, it controls odor really well. It smells like corn when you first pour it out but then the smell goes away after a few hours and doesn't really smell like anything. It's nice to walk into the room and not have to smell that overly perfumed clay cat litter I used to buy.

Yes, it's expensive but it lasts a long time. Just to give you an idea of how long it lasts, I have 2 cats and 2 litter boxes that get scooped about twice a day. The 34 pound bag lasts me an entire month without getting smelly. I keep the litterboxes in my master bathroom and just scoop it into the toilet whenever I happen to be using it. It's soooo much easier than scooping them into plastic bags and throwing them outside!

The only drawback that some may find is that cats can track light colored dust in the immediate area. I changed my mats to a light color and don't notice it and it doesn't bother me at all....more info
  • Great litter but dogs ate it!
This cat litter sounded a great product to put in the litter box. However, our dogs ate it like it was corn flakes, which I guess it is, in a way. We would fill the litter box, and within a few hours, the dogs ate all the litter! We don't have a place to keep the litter box where our dogs can't get to it, so we had to switch back to clay litter. We still give it 5 stars for being environmentally friendly and a great alternative to clay litter....more info
  • My three cats and I object to the smell - but clumps great
Definitely does not live up to its name. Though it clumps as well as the best of them, I do not like the way it smells even before it is used. It does not control waste odor well at all. And perhaps most importantly my 3 cats didn't like it either!

For environmentally friendly alternatives that do control odor very well, I recommend "Swheat Scoop" litter (pleasant smell) or shredded paper (good use for junk mail) combined with a product such as Kitty's WonderBox Disposable Cat Litter Box....more info

  • World's Best Cat litter Extra Strenth
This is the best litter, it works great with the littermaid automatic cat box too. It lasts a very long time with great odor control. I don't have to worry about when my kitties groom their paws like you do with the clay litters. I highly recommend it. My kitties give it 4 paws up!!...more info
  • Amazing.. and not smelly at all!
I don't know if some of these reviews are for the "regular" World's Best instead of the Extra Strength or what... but I have been using World's Best Extra Strength cat litter for my two Maine Coons ever since we got the cats 10 months ago. One of the breeders recommended it. It is not smelly at all! There is no dust, no smell (other than right after the cat poops, but that happens when people use the bathroom, too!), and it clumps really well.

The 34lb bags are a good size to fill two litter boxes and replenish the boxes for a few weeks before I feel like I should completely replace the litter.

We went on a short vacation once (2 days) and wanted to leave the cats with extra litter. Since this stuff is so expensive, we filled the extra litter box with some of the cheaper, clay-based litter. That stuff was awful! It smelled, the clumps fell apart more, and it was just nasty after a few days. That's when I was convinced that this really is the world's best litter.

Anyway, one thing that I did hear from one breeder: Some cats are allergic to the corn-based litters. So if you buy this stuff and your cat starts acting funny (scratching a lot, etc.), he or she could be allergic to it. Fortunately for me, both of my cats love this stuff.

  • True to it's name!
This stuff is great! It's wonderful to not have to worry about odor anymore. No litter I've tried has even come close to this product. The second best thing about it: it doesn't get caught between their paws, so there are no more bits of litter scattered throughout the house from their tracking. It's a little pricey, but I've found it to be worth it. ...more info
  • Not as great as we hoped
We were looking for a litter that was more earth, people, and cat friendly all around. We spotted this stuff at our local PetSmart, and I liked everything about it, especially being flushable AND controlling odors. Sounded too good to be true. It was... Despite scooping as the bag instructed, and being a single cat household, this litter has zero odor control. We even had a strong odor absorbing gel crystal jar and a method wall socket air freshener in the laundry room where the litter box is kept. Nevertheless, the odor managed to waft out into the hallway, living room, guest bathroom, etc. We also used nature's miracle powdered enzyme sprinkled into the litter. Nothing worked. The tracking wasn't so bad, but we use a big mat to catch a lot of it, and stepping on the bits that weren't caught was far less annoying than sharp crystals. No matter, the odor was still unbearable. It might be the world's earth friendliest, but in this house, it's just not the world's best. Shame....more info
  • LIVES UP TO IT'S NAME, WORLD'S BEST CAT LITTER!
I'm impressed with this product. I can tell you that it isn't called WORLD'S BEST CAT LITTER for nothing.

Yes, at first, the cats will eat it.....but once they use it, believe me, the don't eat it anymore.

It clumps wonderfully, and is totally flushable. I have 5 cats, and 3 Litter boxes, and they do not have to get changed for at least 2 and one half months. Each week, I will add alittle fresh litter to their boxes.

The first time I used this litter, I used it in ONE litter box only, and it lasted longer than I expected. There is no dust all over my furniture or in the air like with other cat litter, and the fact that it is safe to flush is a bonus!!! When I replace the litter,(after about 2 and a half months) I wash out the litter boxes with soap and water and start fresh. Great stuff and definitely worth the money. Also, being that I have dust allergies, those have been reduced now that I don't use a dusty cat litter.

I highly recommend the World's Best Cat Litter. Extra Strength if you have more than one cat!!!! ...more info
