Keep your hands steady and your mind focused for Trauma Center: New Blood, sequel to Trauma Center: Second Opinion. This time around there's a lot more on the line. Every cut of the scalpel, every pinch of the forceps, each and every second that ticks by is of the absolute greatest importance. If you think it's too much to handle alone, invite a friend to assist with the operation and work together to save patients from flat lining. The adrenaline is pumping, lives are at stake, and only you can save the day. Have you got what it takes?
At a remote hospital in Alaska, Dr. Markus Vaughn, a surgeon who has forsaken the politics and power struggles of his former ward, quietly toils. He is content to use the power he has discovered within himself, the Healing Touch, to positively affect the lives of those in need. His partner is Valerie Blaylock, a promising young doctor eager to unlock her own dormant abilities.
When the facility unexpectedly closes, they are forced to return to Concordia Medical Institute, where politics are more important than patient's lives, and doctors more concerned with image than their ministration. There they are recruited into the government organization Caduceus, where they will learn of a conspiracy with dire ramifications, and their lives will be changed forever.

Not all the way through the game yet but it has been fun and enjoyable. Not entirely realistic but I only know that because I got it for my wife in med school. I would not know too much of a difference other than the obvious stuff that is changed for video game since you are not really cutting people open. But it is fun and you learn some stuff!...more info
- Pass The Paddles, This Game Has to Live!
Really a lot of fun to play, especially if you know a bit about medicine. It has an anime feel to it, as it has still pics that connect the storyline. But it really tests your dexterity, memory, and ability to make choices. I like the fact that someone finally made a game like this. Now why not do a serious game on the duties of an EMT?...more info
- It's no Halo, but it is fun.
The game keeps me interested until I get stuck at a part that is too difficult. Easy mode is not as easy as some may think. Even after I got used to the game, I still ran into parts that had to be repeated multiple times to actually get the jist of the level, on easy mode. The graphics are okay. The acting parts in between levels are a bit on the long side. If you are a person who likes a challenging game, this is not a bad start. That's all I really have to say....more info
- Short, but enjoyable
This game just seems naturally suited for the Wii. Although it is very similar to the first game in the series, the addition of a two person surgery really spices things up.
Gameplay can be frustrating for those lacking in hand-eye coordination, but the varying levels of difficulty are accomodating.
Overall a very enjoyable game that highlights the ingenuity of the wii remote....more info
- this game is hard!!!! but very fun!!
this game is crazy hard. Good thing there is co-op mode which makes it easier. It took me and my friend a looooooooooooooong time to beat the game. Every mission can be played with two players, except the training. I have no idea how to beat this game single player. The game is so much fun, and the art work is nice too. But i warn u, it takes like 10+ or sometimes 20+ to succeed in an operation. Meaning u would kill the patient like 20 times before actually saving him, it is that hard (i play in normal though). However this game is super fun!!!! i haven't tried the online thing but i don't think it is fun. i hope they make a next installment where 4 players can play having people wipe your sweat during the operation of something. ...more info

I think it is difficult with the time constraints for a new player. My daughters play as a team and they seem to like it. ...more info

- Very Fun Game for the Wii
This is one of the first games I've purchased for the Wii, and I'm really happy I got it. It certainly is a game that is best suited with the Wii's unique controls, and it probably wouldn't be as much fun anywhere else.
The heart of the game is the operating, which can be exciting, stressful, tense, and frustrating all the same time. But it's quite a rush when you've got a time limit and some bleeding patient who needs you to hurry up. :) Controls seem to be spot on and are a lot of fun to interact with each patient. I especially like using the defibrillator. While the game can be slightly difficult, I don't mind replaying levels that I've failed.
The only downside I'm seeing so far, are the extremely lengthy cut scenes in between game play. The acting for the stories are very good, but there's just so much of it! Other than that, the game is unique and fun enough to own.
Overall - 4 Stars
Control - 4 Stars
Graphics - 3 1/2 Stars
Sound - 4 1/2 Stars
Fun - 5 Stars
- Enjoyable at first
I enjoy watching those medical shows and even took a general learning course at my local hospital. I bought this game to further my knowledge, learn a few new terms, and have fun playing a game that not many others would enjoy. I generally enjoyoed the first level (of the four avaialble), but find the surgeries in level 2 and beyond near impossible on the normal or hard settings even after a lot of practice. I'm hopefully doing something wrong, but the game doesn't clue me in as to how to get better. It only allows me to repeat each stage. I'll set this game on easy and see if I can enjoy finishing it out. It was a lot of fun for the first level, but the intricate difficulty made it difficult to enjoy in subsequent levels....more info
- Very Good but Very Hard
First off, this game is very very difficult, way more so than second opinion. I just beat it on easy and it really wasn't easy at all. That's not to say that it wasn't a lot of fun. I really enjoyed the game a lot and would highly recommend it if you liked the first one.
If you have read any reviews of this game then you know that some people liked it a lot and other didn't like it at all, but the only reason they gave was because they couldn't get very far in the game. I can see how that would be true but really I didn't have too much trouble completing itand having a great time while doing it.
Also I know there is a co op mode that is supposed to be crazy ridiculous fun but I haven't tried it yet. Still, this is very highly recommended and makes me glad I have a wii....more info
- Too hard and not enough depth
-Great use of Wii controls
-Cut-scenes were interesting but lengthy
-Great rush when you complete a surgery successfully
-Fun most of the time
-Stigma was pretty lame
-Not very realistic overall (ie having to inject vital medicine, 5 minute time limit for every surgery, stigma as a pathogen, crazy "healing touch" power)
-Story was often over-the-top (the main characters quit medicine when a patient dies!)
My biggest problem with this game was the lack of realism. I was hoping this would be more educational and grounded in actual surgery and medicine, but instead they incorporated some wacky story and took a very fictionalized approach. When they did whip out the medical jargon, they rarely explained what it meant. I enjoyed the normal surgeries the best; that is, the ones without Stigma. I wish the game had more of those levels, or at least a bacterium that was somewhat plausible.
The game is also very hard, so hard in fact that on the easy setting, beginners or anyone without lightning-fast reflexes will have to repeat most of the levels. Coupled with poor descriptions of what to do with many of the surgeries, often times you'll get very frustrated. The game is very simple in terms of realism, but too difficult for the casual gamer friend to play with you. Many of my friends saw me play and had no interest in playing themselves.
You will have fun with this game though, just don't approach it as a surgery simulation, like I was sort of hoping for....more info
- Fun and Real!
The game is fun and the operations are real. The dialogs are a little long....more info
- Trauma Center: New Blood - A Sleeper Game for Nintendo Wii!!
After reading some mixed reviews I thought i would try this one out for the heck of it. To my surprise this game rocks!!! Its actually one of the best hands on games for the Wii that I have played personally!
To make this short and sweet this game is very very detailed and textbook medical! It has some amazing features that make you really feel the sense of urgency in the situations that you are put through (a grizzly bear attack, a hidden tumor patient, a gunshot to the chest patient etc..) This game is def worth the $20 (alot cheaper at your local game stores and brand new, sorry Amazon)
Lastly i thought i would walk through this game in an hour's time but i realized after the first two victims it gets alot more intense and there is that much more to do to a patient in alot less time (taking bullet shards from a persons heart while keeping the blood drained and keeping the patients heart beating OMG...) Also it helps alot to have a friend join in as your assistant especially on the third case, hint hint...
One thing is i would not recommend this to the younger ones since the entire game is like playing through an episode of ER. The story board gets alittle annoying after awhile but the tutorials are great and there is just so many tools at your disposal to use its incredible! Overall this is a great game for the wii for the sole purpose that you use your hands just like a real surgeon would! Def a top 5 game in my book for the Wii... ...more info
- Recommaned for everyone
This game is absolutely fun! I played the first Trauma Center game last year and thus decided to buy this one when it first came out. The graphic is a lot better than the original. Some tasks are hard to accomplish in single player mode, however, I'm not very good at video games, so it might be easier for you!...more info

- For Everyone! Even for health professionals!
This game is so entertaining and I would recommend this game to anyone who has Wii. This game utilizes the Wii interface perfectly that I don't think other consoles can duplicate its interactivity which makes this game what it is and that much more fun!
On the other hand, I noticed people who does not play games much to have a bit of learning curve to get used to the Wii interface before trying this game because you will use every key and movement combination of the Wiimote and nun chuck. Difficulty rating on this game is rather high at the beginning unless you have played the prequel, "Second Opinion".
Also coop play makes this so much more fun. I have some friends who are in medicine and dental and they seemed to enjoy this game so much, it is amazing how much they get into it. If you have kids, get them started early with this game! ;)...more info
- my review....
The game is alright...not what I expected at all...I thought the graphics would be better, and more action. It's almost like a timed simon says...you have to remember moves, in a certain order and you have to do it fast. And that's the game!...more info
- Why did they have to add occult garbage?
I just got this game for Christmas and I really enjoy the doctor role-play. The surgeries and healing the patients are a lot of fun. But my biggest complaint is why did they have to add "The Healing Touch"? Dr. Vaughn is asked within the first couple of surgeries if he's still doing his "witch-craft" and meditating. The fourth tutorial you are taught to draw a pentagram as the "healing touch". I haven't had to use it, but occasionally the pentagram flashes as "the healing touch" and allows you to have extra time to perform your surgery. I am quite offended that the makers of this game think medicine can't be performed successfully without witch-craft involved. Make a medicine game without the pentagrams and I'll give it 5 stars. ...more info
- Trauma Center
This game can be fun. I was a bit disappointed with the new age mysticism. There is a huge amount of geeky dialogue, but the surgeries are challenging and educational. I really like the co-op feature as my son and I perform surgeries together. The new age philosophies have no place in a game about medical emergencies. That stinks!...more info
- A fun game
This is a fun game. It is difficult. Better play in co-op mode with a partner....more info
- Great game and lots of fun.
I haven't had a chance to play through the whole game yet, but from what I have played it feels just like Trauma Center: Second Opinion, with a new story and new operations. Multiplayer in this version is done in a Co-op manor, with both players working together on the same surgery. There isn't much more I can say at this point about the game besides its fun to play single player or multiplayer. I would recommend this game to anyone who was a fan of the first game or looking for any new game to buy....more info
