Packed with Features
The Duracell Pocket Inverter 175 is packed with features that will keep you up and running while you are out-and-about. It uses highly efficient internal electronics to convert 12-volt DC power, such as that from a car's cigarette-lighter adapter, to standard 120-volt household current. The DC cable fits all standard cigarette-lighter and vehicle accessory power sockets. The grounded AC outlet and USB charging port can provide a total of 130 watts of continuous output power and a peak output power of 175 watts. It is strong enough to recharge your equipment's batteries and provide power for all of your mobile electronic needs--and can even power many small appliances.

Perfect for Travelers

If your laptop battery runs low or you need more play time with your MP3 player, portable gaming console or DVD player, just connect your device into the AC outlet and keep going. It can power your equipment directly, or simply recharge the batteries. The USB port will keep your BlackBerry, iPaq, Palm, or iPod devices charged and ready to go when you need them the most. Weighing in at only one-third of a pound, the Duracell Pocket Inverter 175 not only frees you from carrying extra cords and batteries, it saves you money as well as space in your bags. It truly is a portable power solution.

Duracell Pocket Inverter 175 Protects Your Equipment
The Duracell Pocket Inverter 175 has several features to keep both you and your devices safe. Over-temperature shutdown keeps the unit from overheating under extreme conditions and prevents fires. The overload shutdown ensures that the unit's inverter does not become damaged from being overpowered by the DC source. Low-battery voltage shutdown turns the unit off when there is insufficient energy to power your devices, keeping the internal circuitry of your mobile electronics safe from harm. An included Electronic Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter immediately terminates power if the unit is exposed to water or other liquids that could cause a short circuit. The Duracell Pocket Inverter 175 also comes with a one-year warranty.

  • Did Not Work with Laptop
I purchased this product to use in the car with a laptop and cell phone via the USB. It worked well using the USB to power the cell phone but when I plugged in the laptop, the red fault light came on and it would not charge the laptop. I recommend finding out how much power (or Watts) your laptop needs before buying this product....more info

  • Duracell Inverter
Small and portable, runs netbook class computers just fine. I'd be afraid to use this on a huge whiz-bang gaming laptop, but it is perfect for smaller laptops.

Nicely finished, and it hides under my seat, with only the cig. lighter plug showing.

The added USB charging/power port is a brilliant addition!

I personally don't like the inverters that are an all-in-one package, where the electronics are on the back of the cig. lighter plug. Just looks tacky.

There is a fan on the bottom of the inverter, and make sure the top and bottom of it (inverter) isn't blocked, for proper cooling.

Highly recommended, for its intended use.

  • Not really enough for a 65watt input notebook
Power adaptors for 65w notebooks can need more than 150w when the notebook need a lot of energy, e.g. with 100% of processor(s) use.

But this device can offer 135w of constant energy. 175w is just the peak power and really not true.

Do not use with batteries that offer low current levels. As a 12v to 110v transformer, it will need 9 times more current in the 12v input than the device need.

Besides that it is really portable and will power netbooks finely....more info

  • Convenient useful
Works great to charge a laptop and run most small appliances. Don't expect to run your 52 inch LCD when the power is out on Sunday to watch a local NFL broadcast....I tried it didn't work. Fortunately the power came back on by half-time, but I was able to charge my laptop on it....more info
