Customer Reviews:
  • Great vac. Alot of Aggravation
I have the green eureka capture vac. It does pick up extremly well, but it comes with alot of aggravation. First off it got about 3 filter only 2 you replace (that's not really too bad). The most aggravating thing is getting the cover off to get to the roller brush and belt. You've got 4 screws to remove that are in some really odd spots (you need a long screwdriver). Also it is really aggravating to get the stupid screws back in the vac. The hose isn't realy long, plus the vac is top heavy. So, if your using your hose to get some cobwebs down it will probly fall over.
It's hard to keep the power cord on the hooks they put on the vac(its too much cord for the hook). But the cord is really long so that is great.
This vaccuum cleaner is very heavy so it's kinda hard to push. But all in all it picks up great. It does clog up sometimes but thats because I forgot to empty out the bucket....more info
  • 8802AVZ CAPTURE BAGLESS
WORKED GREAT THE FIRST 4 MONTHS WITH AVERAGE USE. AFTER THAT, NOTICED A LOUDER THAN NORMAL NOISE TO WAKE THE DEAD. THE ADJUSTMENT FOR CARPET TO BARE FLOOR PLATE CAME OFF ALONG WITH THE SPRING. I NOTICED THAT IT WAS CLOGGED AT THE TOP OF THE HOSE AS WELL. THIS IS PROBABLY WHY IT IS SO DANG LOUD. WAS IT REALLY CLEANING FOR A MONTH OR TWO??? WHO KNOWS?? I WANT A DYSON BUT HAVE A WARRANTY FOR THIS P.O.S. I GUESS I WILL HAVE TO CHECK FOR CLOGGING ON A USE BY USE BASIS. GOOD LUCK OTHER OWNERS....more info
  • Lasted 7 months. I hate this thing.
I bought this vacuum from a Target store. I'd read good reviews about Eureka - but I think that was the Boss.

Man - this thing is a real lemon. First, the belt breaks far far far too easy. I think I replaced it twice in 9 months. The unit is also pretty heavy and not easy to use.

The main drawback - the hose got clogged EVERY TIME I vacuumed. Now, I do have pets, but this thing was supposed to be great on pet hair. It would clog right at the connection of the hose to the canister, so I would have to unscrew the hose housing and clean it all out. Plus, hair would clog up the filter area at the top of the canister too.

The hose would also detach from the base all the time, so I would be vacuuming for a few minutes before I realized there was no suction against the floor.

In addition, when you would go to empty the canister, dirt would spill out all over the vacuum. I was constantly wiping the outside clean.

Finally, the thing started smoking from the base after 8 months of use - it definitely wasn't the belt.

Overall - a really poor design. I replaced this with a Bissell and I've loved it from the first minute I used it. ...more info
  • Does not last
This vacuum does not last! I've had it about eight months and already broken two belts! The belts are hard to find in my area. This was advertised as a vacuum for pet owners. With three cats and two ferrets I can assure this does not work well with pets at all! It clogs continously! It makes more messes than it cleans up. Avoid this vacuum! ...more info
  • Not pleased
This vacuum only lasted me a month and a half. Something broke off inside and made a horrible rattle, one of the cord holders broke off the first week, and I was constantly having to reach up inside and pull dog hair out of the very top of the filter. Really, really not pleased. The suction was FABULOUS at the very beginning, but after about 10 vacuumings it lost about 70% of it's suction - and yes, I cleaned all of the filters....more info
  • Sucks great--but clogs too easily
I loved the suction power of this vac, but after awhile, it just didn't seem to do the job. I noticed that the cup wasn't getting much dirt, so I tore it apart to see what was going on. The intake and the hose was super clogged--it was a mess!
After getting it cleaned out, I started watching it closely, and noticed that it clogs really easily. I am constantly having to reach up above the collection cup and pull out dust, and dirt, and hair, and who knows what. I don't have allergy problems, but anyone with an aversion to dust would not be able to do this without a dust mask.
I regret this purchase. At the time I bought this, I looked for reviews and could find none--it was a fairly new model. Now, 9 months later, I can't see getting another vacuum, but wish I could.
Fortunately, it wasn't too expensive, but I can't afford another....more info
  • Love it!
Great vacuum! Its weighs about twice as much as my old vacuum but is over twice as easy to push around. Great suction and attatchments...more info
  • Better than my Dyson
I bought a Dyson almost a year ago and after several problems I decided to try this Eureka. This is the best vacuum I have used and one of the cheapest. ...more info
