    • Not hot enough
I used to go to the salon once a week and decided that I would start doing my wash and sets on my own. I have very thick hair and generally sit under the Dryer at the salon for two hours. Purchasing this product I expected a shorter dry time being the bonnet could be adjusted to be secure around the head not letting any heat out.... I was wrong after sitting under the dryer for THREE HOURS I ended up taking out the rollers and pin curling the hair to speed up the drying process. In addition the Bonnet eventually lost elasticity and ended up "stretching" from the dryer hose. I even switched to a bigger roller setting to ensure a faster drying time... and it still didn't work well for me :(...more info
    • Don't waste your money - product doesn't last long
Not recommended. I bought the 400W version of this product, using it only two times a week. After less than five months, the motor began to make a terrible racket when in use. I wrote a letter to Vidal Sassoon, and they told me to send them the defective unit. I did, on my dime, and Vidal Sassoon sent me a replacement.

The new one worked fine - but again not for long. After about six or seven months of twice weekly use, the thin elastic ribbon in the bonnet lost all its elasticity. Then, not a month later, the motor began making that familiar racket.

Despite being loud, the dryer works well (when it's working). It would help a great deal if the hose was longer so that you could set the dryer on the floor next to the chair or sofa you'r sitting on. I won't be buying one of these again.

I don't think Vidal Sassoon should be in the appliance business. Either that, or they should hire new product designers. I also bought a heated curling brush from them in 2007 but it didn't last very long either. As soon as I use it, it heats up within minutes and shuts itself off. In my lifetime, I've never had a hair dryer last less than 10 years until I threw away 40 bucks on a Vidal Sassoon dryer. ...more info
    • A hair dryer that lasts less than 8 months - every time
Not recommended. I bought one of these, using it only twice a week for about 40-45 minutes at a time. After less than five months, the motor began to make a terrible racket. I wrote to Vidal Sassoon, sent them the defective unit (I paid postage), and they were kind enough to send me a replacement. The new one worked fine - but again not for long. After about six months of twice weekly use, the thin elastic ribbon in the bonnet lost all its elasticity. Then, not a month later, the motor began making that familiar racket.

Although the dryer works well (when it's working), it's just not worth the money or effort for a product that breaks down every 6 months or so. Also, it would be nice if the hose was longer - by another foot or two. I won't be buying one of these again.

I don't think Vidal Sassoon should be in the appliance business. They don't seem to have decent product designers. I also bought a heated curling brush from them in 2007 but it didn't last very long either. In my lifetime experience, I've never had a hair dryer last less than 10 years. ...more info
