  • My New Favorite Cookbook
    This is my new favorite cookbook, and I'm excited about trying more of the recipes. I made the North African Spiced Fish twice already because it's so flavorful and easy. Many of the recipes are easy to prepare (30-45 minutes prep then pop into an oven), but, naturally, there are several recipes that are more challenging for an ordinary home cook like myself. But I still plan to give a couple of those a shot. Many of the dishes are based around tomatoes, herbs, olive oil, onions, garlic, and peppers (not necessarily hot); if you like those foods, which I do, then these recipes will suit you well. Also, one thing I really liked as a novice is the author's reassurance that it's okay to "make do" with what you have on hand and not fret over exact measurements/ingredients. If a particular ingredient or measurement is critical to the dish, she points that out....more info
  • Love this book
    This cookbook is always at the top of my cookbook stack-- a rather large feat! I especially like the fish recipes because they are easy, different, healthy and make fish taste way better than, well, fish. I really recommend this book. I'm not top chef either but while some of the recipes are more complicated, plenty are simple too. Enjoy!...more info

  • A taste of Italy right in my own kitchen
    Love the book! After trying a hand-full of recipes, I remembered how much I love to cook with and eat fresh fruits and veggies. I have re-invented myself in the kitchen. I love reading about the Mediterranean culture and how eating and preparing a meal is not taken for granted - it's a celebration to them. I respect that.     While this cookbook has a lot of great-looking recipes, it seems to be written more in book form and has no pictures of any of the recipes. I guess I am more of a visual cook. There are, however, some very interesting notes on the healthy benefits of this type of eating....more info
  • Diet without sacrifice!
    Liquid diets? Protein diets? Grapefruit diets? Caveman diets? Blood-type diets? Not for me. I love the Mediterranean diet! This book, filled with authentic recipes, is going to help me become an even better cook than I already am . . . of course! That's the great thing about owning a lot of cookbooks.

    If you work you may not have time to prepare these recipes during the week, but trust me they'll be just as delicious on the weekend. As for pictures, they're nice but they drive up the cost of a book. I'd rather pay less, and take pictures of the awestruck look on the faces of my friends when I serve one of these delicious meals.
