    • Satisfied cook.
Nice looking and durable; worth every penny I paid for; looks good with the rest of my stainless cook ware set....more info
    • Too small and shallow
The product is great. I agree to most of the positive reviews. Just that its too small and shallow. I thought I would be able to cook indian vegetables for two in this skillet. Unfortunately, the contents would splash and spill out of this cookware. Someone mentioned that the inside of the 8' skillet is only 6.5' -- and I totally agree to that. ...more info
    • Not a light weight
pan. The helper handle is needed for me to move pan from counter top to stove top. Cooking with these pans is a joy. Heat up superb and taste of food is awesome. I also like the fact that there seems to be no lingering odor from one dish to the next..with non stick this is something I disliked. Very durable and as with the rest of the chef's classic stainless steel, clean up is super. Remember to soak the pan in warm soapy water.
Use of olive oil etc, did not affect clean up or performance at all. (As a first time owner of stainless I am still discovering it's beauty)
Thanks Cuisinart and Amazon ! ...more info
    • Great cookwear
I bought this pan on a special sale and it gets used almost every day. Without a non-stick surface, spray a little Pam and it cleans up very easily. Let it soak for 5 minutes and use a non-steel scrubbing pad (one side sponge, one side a mild abrasive). Steel wool will scratch the surface.
Cooks evenly on medium or low heat. Can also go into the oven.
Without the non-stick surface, stainless steel pans and pots last virtually forever and always look and feel great. ...more info
    • How did I cook without it?
This is a great skillet! I don't know how I cooked for years without it.
I wanted a large skillet for all around use that DID NOT have teflon. I love this skillet it is large enough for cooking everything from spaghetti sauce to a chicken stir fry and cleans up simply. The only thing that I wish it came with would be a lid.

You won't be disappointed with this one!...more info
    • 10 and 12-in skillets
I have the 10 inch and 12 inch Skillets, they are by far the best I have used in the past 45 years of cooking, I love the fact that they go from stove top to Oven and Table if I choose to do so. Perfect sizes and the helper handle on the 12 inch skillet is definitely a plus, I have several other skillets that do not have the even heat distributions, that both of this skillets have. love them, love them....more info
    • Great Skillet!!!!
I had several stainless steel skillets before and this is the first one that I really love. It's perfect for even Steaks! The heat distribution is very even and nothing sticks to it. I love the size and the extra handle.
You get a lot for the money....more info
    • Excellent Value
I am very pleased with this purchase. I have used it for a couple of weeks and I find it easy to use and clean. If you haven't used stainless steel before you must be careful with your heat. It doesn't take nearly as much as with aluminum. My reason for this purchase was that it was an excellent value. To get this large SS skillet for less than $40 was too good to pass up. I have since purchased a companion set....more info
    • cuisinart skillet
I don't care for this product. I have not used stainless cookware for years and I find it leaves outlines from the food and must be polished everytime I use it.
I would not purchase another one.

    • Great big skillet
We moved from an electric range to an area where everyone cooks with gas, and we wanted to take advantage of the ability to use skillets over 10". This 14" Cuisinart skillet has aluminum cladding on the outside that distributes the heat pretty evenly. The handle stays cool, and the second handle is very usful for shifting a large batch of meat to the pot after browning. We find it reasonably easy to clean, even after a messy batch of scrambled eggs.

The skillet really feels big - it has twice the surface area of our 10" Cuisinart, which we are also very happy with. You can easily brown a pound of meat without the liquid from the meat turning the whole thing into a stew. We are very pleased....more info
    • Cuisinart 12-Inch Open Skillet
We love the skillet! It's very easy cleanup with it, and we don't have to worry about fumes poisoning our birds! The only thing we don't like is that both handles get hot and we have to use a potholder to hold the pan. Other than that - it's wonderful!...more info

    • Great line of stainless pans
I am ordering piece by piece all of the Cuisinart Chef's Classic stainless steel pans and none have disappointed. What a fantastic price compared to its competitors. Solid, quality, flawless products. The 12" skillet is large and almost too pretty to cook in! The domed lid from my everyday pan fits this fry pan. ...more info

    • Pan sticks
Inexpensive. Nice looking. Convenient size. Pan sticks, however, and that is the reason for 3 stars. Perhaps it is me, but on my glass-top stove, the pan stuck when I tried simple egg-frying. Not sure what I could do differently - pretty simple operation. I have the 14" (great size) and it is beginning to stick too. I have the covered 10" and it is an excellent pan and very nice looking and, for some reason, does not stick....more info
    • 14" Cuisinart Open Skillet
This pan is a must have for all cooks. It can be used for all cooking needs. We do from bacon and eggs to stir fry. Does not stick, I repeat does not stick. Love this pan....more info
    • not same quality as 12"
Like most of this line, the 12" version of this pan is an excellent pan and value, and seldom leaves my range top. The 14" however is a disappointment because its material/construction is not nearly as heavy-duty. Notably, unlike the 12" pan the 14" is NOT stamped "18/10". Another telltale is that the 14" weighs only 4 oz. more than the 12". Result: relatively lower thermal mass, less even heat distribution and retention, more hot spots and burning. In fairness, the larger diameter will put the much thinner sides farther away from most ranges flame, but I wish they'd made the base at least as heavy duty- as the 12". Caveat emptor!...more info
    • Love it!
This pan is a good size - not too big or too small. You have remember to use low heat for easy cleanup. Great for browning meat....more info
    • 14 inch skillet is bigger than advertised
We measured the thing and it is bigger than 14" in diameter at the top, and 14" at the base. Note that the product description says 13.5". The pan was so big, that we weren't able to use the 2 adjacent burners simultaneously, and had some difficulty with the 3rd burner. I suppose we should have measured our stove top before buying this pan. We usually buy Calphalon pans, and those pans usually measure just under the advertised diameter at the top. So beware of brand differences--we had to return our Cuisinart pan....more info
    • Good skillet for the money
First off, anyone who is whining about it not being "non-stick" needs to understand that this isn't a teflon pan -- it's stainless steel and needs to be treated like it. You have to use some sort of oil during cooking, be it butter, olive oil, canola, etc. and let it get pretty warm before adding your food.

It's disappointing that the aluminum core doesn't extend further up from the base, but at this price you can't expect it to. It distributes heat great, and has cooked everything to perfection.

Highly recommended, one star penalty for not having the aluminum extend further....more info

This is an excellent skillet for browing and cooking at a great price....more info
I've had this pan for a few weeks now and probably use it everyday. I find it very easy to use and to clean up. You do have to use some butter or oil but,I would rather have that than the chemicals that come from the non-stick pans. I use Bar Keepers Friend to clean any discoloration and they look brand new. Great pan and an excellent value....more info

Own over twenty pieces of Cuisinart Chef's Classic cookware.
This skillet is the widest and roomy. Easy to clean and dishwasher

    • Wears down easily over time.
I've had this skillet for a little over a year. I have a gas stove, and I always cook on low to medium heats using a cooking spray like Pam, or olive oil. My roommate used it on high heat ONCE and it burned. Now the surface is not the same as it was when it was new, and pretty much everything sticks to it and burns, even on low heat with lots and lots of oil. So just be careful not to use high heat and you should be okay, but I think it was a little drastic for the pan to be totally ruined after one use of high heat....more info
    • Super little pan
I love this pan! It cooks evenly, the handle stays cool and the cleanup is
a breeze. I use it every day and am planning on getting its bigger counterparts....more info
    • Good pan for the money
I needed a larger skillet and boy, is this pan big! It actually covers the 11 inch burner on my new range! It gives you plenty of room to cook in. It is not as thick as some other pans and you have to watch it carefully to make sure the food doesn't burn. It is also hard to store due to its size. But the price ($39.99) on makes it a great value! ...more info

    • Good product
It does require low heat to get hot. Also leaves those messy hard to get out oil marks- I really have to scrub at it (with a mild scrubber ofcourse). But considering that it is stainless steel and I am not feeding on teflon and vinyl coating particles this is great. It does help to let it soak on for sometime before cleaning and definitely not a dishwasher material....more info
    • Great pan for the price
This is a very large and impressively deep pan. It heats very evenly due to it's thick bottom. With their washing suggestion (soaking it with boiling water until you wash it) it washes easily and still looks brand new. A similiarly sized pan with thicker sides would run you in the $300.00 dollar range so I am happy this pan was available. As always dealing with Amazon was quick and painless....more info
    • large skillet
Beautiful skillet! I purchased this but returned it because it was just too big for my stove. I ordered the 12 inch one instead because these are beautiful, not too heavy, heat evenly and clean up like new. It has tall enough sides. If I had a stove with a little larger heating element I would have kept this size. ...more info
    • Great for an amateur
This is a great skillet for an amateur cook. I'm a student who tries to find time to cook for myself and buying a skillet for $40 has made me more willing to throw a steak into the oven or make grilled cheese sandwiches to go with fresh pasta on a cold Fall evening. If you let the pan soak after cooking, things come right off with a sponge.

This pan is really everything that I could ask for. The 10'' is a perfect size to cook almost anything in a stainless steel pan. I'll likely buy a Cuisinart 12'' non-stick for fried rice and the like.

My only complaint about the pan is that the packaging is extremely ineffective at preventing damage to the pan. Amazon tried to protect the box with more than enough air packs but I noticed one pinky sized dent in the pan.

I'm unwilling to return it, however, as I've heard that Amazon will ban users with too many returns and this was more cosmetic than functional damage. After I made my first steak with plastic utensils, however, I noticed two large dents/scratches near the first one. I can't return it now that it's been used and I'm not sure how Cuisinart's policy relates to this type of damage.

Do yourself a favor and check your pans extremely carefully when they first arrive....more info
    • 8 inch skillet
Beautiful skillet, cleans well, heats quickly and evenly. It is perfect for omelets. The surface cleans nicely. I was tired of non-stick surfaces scratching and needing to be replaced. I am going to purchase more of the Cuisinart stainless products. ...more info
    • I've been had
Ahhh! I think I've been had. Bought this on eBay and it burns easily. Does not wash easily either. I switched to good quality stainless steel pans some years ago and have been phasing out my non-stick pans. I found that it is really important to purchase only high quality stainless steel and Cuisinart Classic is at the bottom end of that class.

I have several good Cuisinart pans but this one is not of the same quality. It developed a discoloration on the edges at the first use that won't scrub off. Each time I fry an egg, I have to scrub long and hard to get it clean. I use a plastic, non-scratch scrubber. This was not a good purchase....more info
    • Excellent Piece of Cookware.
After doing some research on the best materials for cookware, I came across this pan. It was the best I could hope for with my limited budget. It was a Valentine's Day gift for my mom, so it had to be good!

I was surprised by the high quality of this pan. The handle is bolted securely to the pan, so it's not likely to seperate from it. The handle doesn't get too hot, either. The pan is nicely weighted, heats up quickly and evenly, and only requires a small amount of oil (my mom uses 2 teaspoons) to keep food from sticking to it.

It's a very good pan, especially for the price....more info

    • Great for Oven Roasting
I needed a nice roasting pan that would incorporate a 6 lb New York Strip roast for dinner party. The roast seared perfectly on high heat on the stove top and then went in the oven @ 450 for 15 minutes then 350 for another 25 or so. Turned out perfect. Especially considering the price I would highly recommend this pan for oven roasting any high grade cut of beef roast, pork loin, or a nice rack of lamb (my next "project"). Nice and heavy, looks gorgeous and cleans up well, although it barely fits in my sink... I guess that would be the only draw back in that it is huge. ...more info
    • Don't know
Didn't have a chance to use it since I returned it soon as I got it.
There was a noticeable dent in the rim (lip) of the skillet. The lip is very thin and appears to be easily deformed. Wouldn't recommend this product....more info
    • Sticky Pan
Well, the pan came to me nice and beautiful, shiny and silvery, but when I fried an egg, especially sunny side up, the egg sticks to the metal, so when you have to scrape it out of the metal, it breaks, and the yolk pops so nothing of it is left to dip my bread with. It was a pity, big disappointment. I had to go out there and buy another non-stick frying pan, which brings out the sunny side up wonderfully. I just wanted the stainless steel pan, because it is said to be healthier. So, I still use that pan, because I can fry an omelet, patties, pancakes, which don't really stick to the metal, but forget the sunny side up! You can't make sunny side up with that kind of pan, I don't care how beautiful it looks. So, you folks out there - Be ware!...more info
    • fantastic product-i recommend!
I love the Cuisinart Classic Stainless steel 12 inch open skillet. I have been using it almost daily since it was delivered. GREAT pan. It heats food up much quicker than with an ordinary skillet. I used to have the 10 inch skillets and the 12 inch really makes a difference. More room in the pan and it makes cooking alot easier!
The pan is very easy to clean. I love the added feature of the "helper handle". The pan is very well made!
The only thing is, you need to use a silicone or teflon coated spatula or spoon , otherwise it will scratch the skillet. You just have to read the instructions about it before using. I have had no problem with it.
I definitely recommend it! ...more info

    • Not nearly as good as they should be

I was initially very pleased, the first time I saw this line of pans. They had all the features I was looking for, and at a reasonable price (as opposed to the price gouging of All-Clad, Calphalon, etc...). But then I bought one and carefully made my inspection of it. To make a long story short, I went through FOUR of these skillets, and absolutely none of them made the grade. I'm not talking about being nitpicky about a tiny scratch somewhere. Two of the four pans had moderate corrosion pitting and black spots on the handles. One of them had damaged metal around the lip of the pan. And worst of all - three out of four of them were CRACKED at the weld joints at the base of the handle, on one of the two forks where they meet the plate that's riveted to the pan itself. I don't know about you, but a good price isn't worth the possibility of third degree burns down the entire front of my body on the day those weld joints give way completely.

These Cuisinart pans fall under the category of things that *look* really good for the price, but whose actual quality is far less than it appears. Maybe some of you have gotten very lucky in the batch of pans you received - and if I had gotten one bad pan, I could have chalked it up to a lemon - after all, everyone has them from time to time. But FOUR pans being bad? With THREE of them having a serious defect in the structural integrity? Sorry - they lost me as a customer of their entire brand, and I would caution others not to be blinded by the shiny looks of a poorly made pan....more info
    • as good as all-clad
i own both Cuisinart and the more expensive all clad stainless steel skillets and really can't tell the difference - for the price Cuisinart is the real winner. It is heavy, but not cumbersome. The bottom heats evenly and it's easy to clean, i only wish there was a lid for a pan this large....more info
    • Nice little pan
I love the Chef's Classic line of cookware! This is a great little pan for smaller portions of food. I use the 12-inch everyday pan for most of my cooking, but this one comes out for eggs or side dishes. I like using it for smaller jobs. Make sure you use enough fat, keep the temperature low, and keep a can of barkeeper's friend handy for easy cleaning. ...more info
    • Biggest bang for the buck
I am guy who likes to cook and I am a little particular about how my food turns out (big self critic). I have tried many different types of pans from T-Fal to Racheal Ray's (which I like). Her set of pans do not have a large skillet available, therefore I was forced to shop for an additional larger skillet for those BIGGER meals. Now you know why I got it, lets get into how it worked.... GREAT BIG COOKING SPACE. Stainless is harder to cook with, everything sticks to it. Your forced to either really oil the pan, or add water or anything else to keep the pan lubed so the food doesn't stick or burn. This pan holds up well for all of this, it has an aluminum sealed pad on the bottom which works great for smaller burners to reach on the outside of the pan for even heating. I would not recommend using this pan if you need several pots/pans on the stove at once, this thing is huge and takes up more than a fair share of real estate. But I think if your looking to cook for a large crew, or just looking to cook a large meal for left overs your making a great choice with this pan. I gave it only four stars because it is a pain to clean, I have a big sink to and it is a monster to handle. But great cooking makes for big cleaning sacrifices... cook well & eat well....more info
