  • Great workout
    I do like this workout, it's 2 1/2 miles in 30 minutes and you have walking intervals mixed with jogging intervals. There is one walker who does not jog but keeps to the low impact the entire time so if you can't do it at first you can work your way into it, which I liked. I feel I get a great workout in 30 minutes, which I can pretty much fit in anytime, and I really work up a sweat.

    This would be 5 stars if the quality of the dvd was better. The quality is kind of poor on my dvd, some of the walkers look kind of blurry at times, and the low impact walker (Mary Kay?) is wearing a red top which is blurry a LOT of the time. Like they didn't quite get the colors right on the dvd.

    Although the quality issue is a bit distracting, overall it is a great addition to my at home rotation....more info
  • My least favorite
    I am a huge fan of Leslie Sansone, but out of all her videos this has to be my least favorite. I found these moves difficult to do on a carpeted floor and as a previous poster mentioned too sporadic. Because of this, I almost did not finish the workout, not because of the intensity level, but because it was frustrating trying to do the moves correctly on a carpeted floor. Anyway to make a long story short, I did not find this exercise to be too intense. I actually find the WATP 1, 2, and 3 miles more intense than these workouts, and I will be purchasing the 4 miles, because the basic WATP series seem to do it for me!...more info
  • It's not that difficult and you have done 2.5 miles!
    I started out with Leslie's one mile, then two mile and ventured out to do the walk and jog, sometimes I can't keep up and get a little off beat when they do the last tap outs to the side.....a tad brisk but that's okay, it's short enough I can finish. I try to do this DVD four times per week. You don't need a lot of space but you do need good sneaks that are supportive of your feet and ankles. There is also a low impact person who is great beside Leslie. I have noticed an improvement in the way my clothes fit, and I have lost inches around my waist and hips. Also my thighs are toning up. I would suggest this to those that can do her two mile walk fairly easily if you have a medical condition that does not permit jogging there is the low impact. The jogging is at short intervals and if I can do it at age 52 I am sure many of you can too. Leslie is very pleasant, encouraging and has the type of people working with her that make you feel like you are one of the gang. ...more info
    This is a great, quick but very effective workout. In one half hour you walk/jog 2.5 miles and work up a good sweat. The routine, however, is really fun and enjoyable!! And Leslie is great as an instructor....not annoying like many other exercise videos can be. I love this workout, I do it almost every day (because I actually like to) and it really works!!...more info

  • Loving WATP Walk and Jog since 2004
    A co-worker told me about this particular DVD in 2004. I have a heavy travel schedule, hate going to the gym, and despise working out at the hotel workout rooms. Also, I'm not a fan of working out at all, but this DVD has been the answer for me.

    I use it both at home (on carpet) and in hotel rooms. I love that it is a quick 30 minutes and after four years it still gets my heart rate up. When doing the DVD at home I use 3# hand weights to make it more challenging; on the road I use large water bottles to act as weights. If there's time available, I pair this with the 10 Minute Pilates DVD to get in some toning.

    The Walk/Jog DVD is low impact - I have bad knees and this DVD doesn't bother me too much. There are two instances in the DVD that call for side swings that don't work too well for me so I just jog in place for those few seconds. Using the hand weights has been great to tone my arms. I got great compliments from friends who had not seen me in years and then saw my toned arms in my wedding photos - huge compliment and I didn't even realize that they looked so good and hadn't been going to the gym or working out like a madwoman before the wedding.

    Give this one a try - I have also tried Turbo Jam and Crunch DVDs. I do like the Crunch Fat Burning Pilates, but their boot camp training and the turbo jam DVDs were too complicated for me. I like a mindless workout so I can watch the DVD on my laptop while watching TV at the same time to make time go faster. For a corporate woman who hates to workout, this DVD has been tried and true.     I do an hour long Firm workout M, W & F, and wanted a short workout to do on Tu & Th. This is fairly easy, but it does get me moving and sweating, and I use 2 lb. weights to do arm exercises as I walk & jog to make it more challenging.     I now have 11 of Leslie Sansone's videos and I love every one of them. She often states that her workouts are not for sissies and that is very true but REALLY anyone can do them. You just set your own pace.I started working out with Leslie's videos on April 1st, 2008. I weighed 240 lbs. It is now February 24th, 2009 and I am happy...no thrilled to tell you that I have walked away 83 lbs!!! I went from 2X to size 12. My goal is to lose 100 lbs and I know I will get there. When I started out I could barely get to the end of the 3 mile video. I'm up to 5 miles now and I love it! I'm hooked! What a great thing to be addicted to...excerize!!! Now here's the best part....I'm 62..I'll be 63 in just a few days and the young girls who work out with me can't keep up!!! Please do yourself a huge favor and get started walking away the pounds today. Or just do it to be healthier. Either way, you come out a winner!!! ...more info
  • Great for Advanced Walkers
    For those that have been following Leslie a long time, this is the next step. Sometimes you don't want to have to do the 45 minute workout to get a challenge, but the 15 and 30 minute workouts have become to easy. This is the answer to that problem. The jogging added raises your heart rate and makes you feel like you got a good workout. I wouldn't recommend this workout to those with joint problems like knees or hips. The jumping around for the jogging would not be good on the joints....more info
  • Pretty good, but I prefer the Walk & Kick video
    This video didn't do as well at keeping me interested and pumped up - it was kind of repetitive. I ordered this one and the Walk & Kick at the same time, and I definitely recommend the Walk & Kick. The kickboxing moves are new and fun. While both videos are challenging, the kickboxing one seemed to fly by because you're doing totally different moves, instead of just going from a walk to a jog....more info
  • A NICE change for the WATP series...
    I own about 13 WATP dvds and this one ranks high for me. For one, I like the intensity and two its short...a little over 30 minutes and you've walked 2.5 miles...NICE!

    Walk & Jog is a great one to use as a combo with one of her other workouts. I tend to do this with the Walk & Kick. If you don't already own it, you really should add it to your WATP collection!!...more info

    I have 4 of Leslie's workout tapes, and I enjoy them all. This one I like to do when I want to increase my workout just a notch or even sometimes when I want to stay low impact because she keeps one of her partners doing the low impact exercises.     This workout is by far one of the best Leslie Sansone has to offer. The 3-minute spurts of jogging aren't all that difficult, and are kinda fun. The 30 minute workout goes by really fast-before you know it, it's time for the cool-down! Great for the advanced. Be ready to sweat!!...more info

    This is another great workout DVD from Leslie Sansone. It's brisk and makes the time fly by. The only disappointment I have over it is that there is no stretch at the end, but that is something that you can add yourself....more info

    2.5 miles in 30 minutes? Fantastic. The energy level is high and the enthusiasm is infectious. Leslie's "Sister in Sweat," Mary Kay, is there modifying for those who want more of a low-intensity workout (compensating by lower intensity in her steps and higher intensity in the kicks...some of the other reviewers need to really watch the routine and listen to what she's saying). The jogging and front/side kicks are metabolism boosters without causing this reviewer any pain. but your mileage may vary. Really good workout for those who want to graduate from a stroll in the park. Leslie workout "patter" is less intrusive than in other workouts. ...more info
  • Good for those not used to exercise
    I would give this 4.5 stars if that were an option. This workout would be great for people not used to working out. I got it because I was looking for something to supplement my other cardio and weight training workouts. It is a little too basic for me, but if you get a tape that is supposed to be just walking/jogging, what do you expect? The instructor is not annoying and cues well. The background is nice and soothing. My only real problem with the workout is that there is NO warm up or cool down stretching. Besides that, I recommend the workout. I will keep it in the mix on days I don't have much energy to do my other workouts or may even put it on while watching TV....more info
  • Great Workout
    I've been using this DVD and the 4 mile Super Challenge for 2 1/2 weeks and have already lost 3 lbs. This is a great workout because it only takes 30 minutes, but the jogging intervals keep it very intense and high calorie burning. As with many fitness instructors, Leslie Sansone is encouraging and chatty, but I find her personable and not annoying. She is occasionally off cue, but since the steps are basic, it is easy to follow even if you end up on a different foot than she is.

    Regarding some other reviews that remark on Mary Kay's high kicks (Mary Kay leads a low impact version in case the jogging becomes too high impact), if you simply listen to the cues, you can hear that Mary Kay is showing a low IMPACT, not low INTENSITY version. The point is to avoid the impact while keeping the intensity and pace really high to burn tons of calories. If you follow Mary Kay, you should be sweaty and kicking high!! Overall, a great workout, especially in just 30 minutes!...more info

    I was a bit skeptical about jogging in my home, but wanted a little boost from the two mile walk I had been doing. If you are at all skeptical, DON'T BE! I have used 4 of Leslie's programs and for me, this one takes the cake. It's fun, it's fast paced, and it works up an awesome sweat. You can feel the calories burning with this one.     Big fan of Leslie Sansone workouts. Instructions are always great. She always offers a modified version for all fitness levels and real people to work out with so no one will be discouraged.     Leslie Sansone actually sweats when she is doing this. I love that, it really is a work out & she isn't trying to be perfect, she is working with you. Gosh knows I sweat when I do it. The little jogs are fun & you can decide when & how much you are going to do them. I really like this video just because she sweats!!...more info

    This is my first Leslie Sansone workout video. I always thought the Walk Away the Pounds series were more for beginner exercisers, but after reading the reviews here, I decided to give this a try. It's so simple and basic, yet it makes you sweat and gets your heart rate going. I can see how this might get boring after a while, but what exercise routine doesn't? The music is a little "80s aerobic class", but I love that it's 30 minutes; you don't need a lot of room; and it goes by quickly. Cardio is not my favorite thing in the world, but this workout makes it tolerable. ...more info
    This was my 1st Leslie dvd and I found that over the past 8 months (before I had other WATP's) it was the one I turned to the most over other aerobic dvd's because it's only 30 minutes, easy, and fairly intense. Now I'm one of her biggest fans and alternate her workouts 4-5 days per week. The other one I really like is her 4 mile super challange. I also have the 3 mile Ab workout and thats good too. I've ordered her new "Walk Slim 2/3 mile walks" (with jogging) and I'm anxiously looking forward to beginning those. I think I'm addicted to the routines, oh dear!...more info
  • The workout is great; Leslie's jabbering, well....
    I have many of Leslie Sansone's WATP workout DVDs, and my complaint about all of them is the same -- would someone please tell Leslie to stop jabbering. It really detracts from the workout and I spend a lot of energy trying to focus on the workout and tune out her irritating laugh, jabbering, and nonsensical comments. I am doing other workout DVDs more because people like Denise Austin "talk" about the workout and give instruction on how to do it instead of the babbling about any and everything that Leslie does!...more info

    I own a number of Leslie Sansone videos and was looking for something new to spice up my workouts. This one is killer! Even the normally pristine Leslie is drenched with perspiration by the end of it. This video may surprise her usual fans because it's quite different--very intense. Her direction is a bit ragged in spots--not the usual smooth production, but it is an A-1 workout....more info
  • This is a great workout to take it to the next level...
    I have been doing Leslie's walking videos for months now and they have really helped me to slim down and get fit. I think it is mostly because the moves are so simple, and although her voice can be annoying she is really motivating.

    Things I Liked- This video bumps up the intensity from her just walking videos by interspersing 2 minute periods of light jogging with walking. The light jogging movements include low quick kicks, a pendulum move and of course, jogging. The walking portions entailed knee lifts, kicks, marching and side steps. The time just seems to fly by when you are doing this DVD.

    Also she does not talk as much to the other people as she does in other videos (I often found the cheesy conversations annoying.)

    Addtionally, if you are not ready to do the jogging segments, there is a woman who demonstrates a low impact modified version throughout.

    Things I Did Not Like- I wish it could have been longer. Maybe she will make a longer one in the future. This workout clocks in about 2.5 miles in 30 minutes, and I usually like to do a longer workout.

    Overall, this is an excellent buy and a great addition to your exercise DVD collection....more info

    This is one of my fav videos by her! She times the intervals perfectly so you don't get over worked! This is a great video for if you are short on time and want to maximize your workout (whole work out from start to finish is about 30min)! This is a great 'graduate' video if you feel you are ready to move on from her basic walking tapes....more info

    I'd been using the 1 and 2 miles as my main workouts, and was getting kind of bored with them.
    Then I found this one, and I love it. The jogging intervals are great, not too long, and they're interspersed at the right moments.
    This is definitely good for variety. I reccommend ANY of Leslie's DVDs to someone who is looking for an in home cardio workout that's not too hard or too long....more info

  • Fun, quick and it works
    I tried this walk/jog workout out because I like the Power Mile so much but really do find it too short for a lot of situations.

    This is a great combination of Leslie's walking steps with intervals of jogging throughout. It will get your heartrate up and make you feel fantastic.

    Three weeks of this and I feel so much better. I have lost some weight and I have a lot more energy...and I was pretty active before.

    Check it out of the library or order it off Netflix first, but I'm sure you'll want to own it eventually....more info

    Did Leslie bust a sweat this time? i just got this DVD today and just got done doing the workout..Loved the fact you get that good work out in and even more it's only 30 minutes! when you flip the DVD cover over and read it says something to the fact; it's time to get your body to wake up and smell the calories burning....WHY DID I SMELL SOMETHING BURNING FOR REAL?!? (hahaha) I thought was this my house on fire? Was i really moving that fast i smelled calories burning?..needless to say my house is fine geuss it was the fat burning of my thighs! add this to your walk away the pounds collection...you'll be glad you did and if you are like me and have other walk away workouts it's a good change of pace!...more info
