Customer Reviews:
  • IT WORKS!!!!!
It works fantastic. Gets all the dust bunnies....I love it. And I have lots of pets, so there is more dust and hair than an average person house.....so this is a REAL review....more info
  • A good product
A good tool to use with our Dyson. Makes dusting counters and glasstops easier than using the standard tool that came with the vaccuum. ...more info
  • Nice but expensive
This is a nice little duster but is very expensive. I am not sure I would do it again....more info
  • cleans anywhere
This attachment is great. I clean the recessed light fixtures, the baseboards, the ceiling fans and dust with it. I know it says it's for blinds, of which I have none, but it does so much more. It's a soft brush so you don't have to be afraid to do the TV screen or any other delicate area that needs dusting. It's great....more info
  • don't waste your money!
Tried to use this brush on my blinds and it did absolutely nothing - still had to clean them with a cloth. Wish I hadn't wasted my money on this!...more info
  • Down with dust
This brush is a great addition to the Dyson vacuum. Very effective for dusting blinds, drapes, computers, electronics, TVs, walls books, furniture, etc... all those places you usually have to hand dust. I have always thought that the ideal vacuum brush would have the characteristics of a feather duster. This is the closest thing to that idea....more info
    Dyson Dusting Brush Attachment

I bought the Dyson DC25 Ball and because I have 2" blinds throughout my house I decided to order the dusting brush. Thanks to C. Vaughn's Review I learned that the connectors included by Amazon do not fit my DC25. A call to Dyson's service rep informed me that by ordering directly from them I would be sent the right connector for my vacuum...$36.94...more, but worth it if it works. Must congratulate the service rep, Shereen, who patiently helped me set up my vacuum which wasn't all that easy for me, disabled, 74 and not very mechanically savvy. She deserves 10 stars. I gave a 4 star review because I just now ordered it and am hoping, with fingers crossed, that it will be a 5 star winner! Just thought the above info would be helpful to someone else. Will write an update later....more info
  • Effective Tool
This brush is softer and finer than the one that comes with the machine. It has two holes. It seems very effective on blinds. I also use it on most hard surface because it covers more area. Is it worth the money? Is the value there? I think it's a little expensive; that's why I gave it 4-stars rather than 5....more info
  • Works Like a Dream
I just love this little brush. It takes a chore that I really hate, (dusting) and makes it very quick and simple. Of course, the Dyson grabs all the dust with the help of the dusting brush. Great on mini blinds too....more info
  • I don't need to buy swiffer any more!

  • Worth it
I bought this for my DC14 Animal. It's the first attachment I've ordered (as the DC14 came with a lot of them). I'm glad I bought it. I use it just about every time I vacuum. It's great for side tables and the coffee table. I also use it on the stereo and TV. It's great for computer keyboards, and really good for blinds. It just takes a lot of the misery out of dusting. ...more info
  • great attachment - wrong adaptor
This is a great product, however I didn't see anything that indicated that it came with an adaptor to make it fit depending on the model you have. The adaptor that came with mine does not match my machine, so I was unhappy about that. You can make it work without the adaptor, but it isn't a real solid connection....more info
  • should have purchased a long time ago

  • Dyson Soft Dusting Brush
I love my Dyson vacuum, but wondered if I really needed this item. I ordered, and I love it!!! It does a great job of sucking the dust off pleated lampshades, vacuuming around knick-knacks on a table without having to move them, etc. ...more info
  • Works ok, seems to fit most modern Dysons
If you like your Dyson, you'll probably like this tool too. Yeah, it's not perfect, but it is good for quickly dusting off flat surfaces like table tops, and it works well on keyboards and blinds too.

When I was looking to buy, I noticed several warnings that this only fits specific vacuums (fortunately, mine was one of the ones listed). It actually appears to fit almost all vacuums - it comes with two attachments that will connect to the hose of your Dyson: one connector fits DC07, 14, 17, and 18 tubes and the other fits DC11, 15, 16, and 21's. It's a short tube that connects your vacuum hose to the brush. So if you have one of these models, connecting it shouldn't be a problem....more info
  • WOW!!!
I absolutely love this dusting brush...I think it was a little expensive but it is the best thing since sliced bread :)...more info
  • I love this brush!
I don't understand why some people have complaints about this brush. Perhaps they are not using it correctly, or not attaching it to their machine all the way causing it to break suction. some complain that it doesn't suck enough, not getting TV screens clean???? WHAT???!!!!! I now dust my entire house with my vacuum cleaner rather than with dusting products. I can get under and behind TV's, DVDs, cable boxes, and other electronics. It's great on keyboards and office equipment. I even use it to dust my knick-knacks and glasswear (very carefully, of course, while holding onto the item with my free hand). It even works great on baseboards and air vents!!!! I find myself dusting picture frames and glasswear much more often that I used to!!!!...more info
  • It's okay, but nothing special.
It doesn't do a thing for blinds, and the soft round brush that comes on the Dyson does everything this one does. It's just not as big. ...more info
  • Overpriced, not very soft, adequate brush
Just a plastic accessory - cheap construction and not much about the brush is "soft". The bristles are coarse enough to scratch some surfaces and would not good for use on delicate electronics or surfaces - I am even concerned about it being to rough for my dark wood tables.

To call this a "dusting brush" seems misleading to me - for floors or relatively tough surfaces I guess it is ok but it there is certainly nothing here worth $30 by a long shot.
Unless you just can't bear not having the Dyson purple to match your vacuum , look for a better brush. This one would be a much better buy around $15. ...more info
  • Dyson Soft Dusting Brush
This attachment is really nice and convenient to use. Works perfect for dusting TV, etc....more info
  • Could be Better
Although the attachment works, it didn't live up to my expectations. I'd have liked softer bristles, and I think it needs to be more ergonomical. It didn't do a good job on my keyboard, but did do a nice job on the cpu air intake. It was fine for wood furniture and such, but it was difficult to maneuver. I'm glad I have it, but I wish it was a better design. This attachment is the ONLY disappointment I've had with my Dyson. ...more info

  • Dustbowl
I absolutely hate to dust. MY allergies act up everytime. I cound't wait to get this product in my home. I live in an area where there is dust in the air all the time. Once I got this product, I wondered if by the looks of it if it would do any good but BOY WAS I SURPRIZED!!!!! It pulled the dust off my wooden blinds, off the window sills, my large screen TV and off everything else I cleaned with ease. Instead of just pushing the dirt around it sucked it right up without causing any kind of dust cloud. I love this product. ...more info
  • A Great Time Saver!
I was skeptical about buying the brush because of its price but if your time is worth anything, this brush will pay for itself many times over. It does a great job in areas that are particularly tedious, such as venecian blinds, book cases, switch and recepticle plates, picture frames, and any irregularly shaped or delicate object. I can dust a 6' by 5' venecian blind in under a minute and it is clean. The tops of books in a bookcase are a cinch. The brush is especially good for dusting doors, cabinets and furniture that have raised panels.
I learned there is a little technique to using the brush effectively. The leading edge of the bristles tend to push some of the dust ahead of them leaving a residue, but if one rocks the brush gently from side to side while dusting, the brush picks up all the dust.
The brush will not remove fingerprints, or water stains. You will have to use good old furniture polish for that. I consider my home reasonably clean, but the first time I used the brush I collected almost a cup full of dust in the canister after dusting the entire house. I heartily recommend this accessory for your Dyson....more info
  • Overpriced, unpleasant surprise
I give this product two stars, maybe 2.5. I paid $30 for it, because I thought having the reach of the hose combined with this would be great for doing our ceiling fans. But it's not. The brush isn't adjustable angle-wise, which makes dusting just about anything a labor of inflexibility (imagine dusting a plasma television with a broom, only you had to hold the broom parallel to the screen, rather than perpindicular). The product itself isn't very impressive. If I paid $10 for it, I'd be a lot more forgiving, but I paid three times that, and can only use it for about 10% of the dusting jobs my home requires. I don't recommend this product-if you want to spend that kind of money, but a swiffer-type product. They're adjustable and are better-suited for the job. ...more info
  • Love this thing!!
Works really well!! I think I 'dusted' just about every surface in the house I could reach once I realized how well it worked. I'm thinking about buying a second one - just in case I ever lose this one! ...more info
  • Buyers beware... it BADLY scratched my NEW TV!!!
Overall, this brush is great... EXCEPT that it pretty much scratched up the entire TV screen. It is advertised to "...gently dust delicate surfaces. Keeps fans, blinds, televisions, and keyboards dust-free." Not only that, but on the Dyson website, the demo shows the brush on the screen of a TV! I VERY carefully dusted my NEW TV, and it has scratches all over it now! EEEK! I am in contact with Dyson to see what they will do to fix the issue, and my TV. We'll see......more info

  • Love this way of dusting!
I really hate to dust and tend to let it go most of the time. When I saw this lovely little item, I decided to use a high-tech method for a change and see how it worked. Sure enough, I picked up an amazing amount of dust with my vacuum and this attachment! Someone else mentioned having to store it carefully, but I simply let it rest on its side -- no problem with the bristles bending out of shape....more info
  • Quality = A+ | Actually Usefulness = C-
This Dyson product is made great and matches the purple DC15 Animal perfectly. Fantastic design as well. Problem is the actually usefulness of the product. I have used it 1 or 2 times since purchase and it never worked well. I wanted this to specifically suck the dust off of my 50" TV's screen - didn't work at all for this. It just doesn't suck up that well....more info
  • Well worth the money
Even though this seems a little pricey for a piece of plastic and some bristles, it is worth the money. It does a fantastic job with all our household dusting needs. 2" blinds have never been easier (and faster) to dust. All around, I give this 5 stars....more info
  • Great duster
I just tried this duster yesterday. I have had it for a month, I hate to clean but could not stand the dust any longer.
This little Dyson gadget almost made it a pleasure to dust. It picked up the dust with ease, fit into small spaces and did not disturb surrounding items, yes, I am a lazy cleaner. I actually went looking for places to try it....more info
  • Dyson Rocks!
The soft dusting brush makes an already fabulous vacuum cleaner even more utile! The soft brush does a superior job removing dust from high shelves, fragile objects, and my computer screen and keyboard....more info
  • excellent quality and function, nice look and feel
I love the brush, it fit everywhere i tried to put it, it sucked up the dust from the TV display, the computer keyboard, the pleated lampshade, the flat smooth lampshade, the answering machine, the guitar headstocks, under the guitar strings, dust from speaker covers, and anything else i took on. It was able to pick up well without forming suction, even from a small distance. I am really happy with my Dyson experience.

I am frustrated with the lack of written instructions with any of these products (i got two other tools and am waiting for a third to be delivered). One of the things i like to find in instructions is how to take care of the item, and do's and don'ts. That is lacking. But I'm very very satisfied with the dust brush.

Someone said it was about a foot long. The one i have is under 8 inches from one end of the brush tips to the other. I love the size, not too big, not too small. But i think it is the same brush, it's called "Soft Dusting Brush" for all models of vacuum cleaner.

A big (passionate) ditto to the person who complimented Dyson on the plastic packaging that doesn't require a major ordeal and special cutting tools to free the item, like most things i buy. I have no clue why companies do that. I find it to be quite dangerous and risky. Thank you Dyson. The other tools i bought have this same advantage. After reading reviews here, i was afraid to get the Dyson Mini Turbine tool, so, on advice from some reviewers, i got the Eureka Power Paw--it works very well. I just want to mention that it has the same kind of easy to open (and reuse) plastic container as Dyson. THANK YOU

In summary, i love the size of the brush, the texture of it, the effectiveness of it--i have no complaints other than lack of any information about how to care for it. Obviously not a big deal with this particular tool though....more info
  • My favorite Dyson attachment
I use the dusting brush on everything. It is great on the computer keyboard, blinds, ceiling fan blades, between the slats of my daughter's crib. It's narrow enough to get into small spaces. ...more info
  • basically useless
This brush is so much slower than dusting and doesn't really dust. The one exception already noted herein is that it's great for my laptop computer. I dust out the keyboard and screen with it and even run it over all the little vents. ...more info
  • Best tool for dusting
Works great for using your Dyson to dust all over the house. I am highly allergic to dust and so I use my Dyson to dust thereby reducing the amount that gets knocked around in the air. This gets it up good and does not scratch surfaces. With my Dyson arsenal I can dust my whole house much quicker and have it much cleaner than I can with a rag. I love it....more info
  • The Little Magic Wand
Rarely would I give an ordinary vacuum attachment a five star rating, but this is far from ordinary.

I was impressed first off with the packaging. Usually when I buy something that's encased in plastic it takes Superman to cut the thing out. Not so with the thoughtful folks at Dyson; they provided a package that you can easily open and then close again.

Second, I was impressed by the construction of the brush itself. The bristles are very fine yet sturdy and practically mold themselves around anything you vacuum with it. And the material used to make the rest of the brush is the same tough crash helmet plastic as the Dyson itself. Nice.

Something to keep in mind is that the brush comes with two small adapters; one has a small triangle on it and the other has a small "O". In the package there is a small booklet with pictures showing what the adapters are for; the one with the triangle attaches to the brush when you want to put it on the long wand, the adapter with the "O" attaches to the brush when you want to use it with just the hose. I mention this because I ended up vacuuming all my blinds (and even my curtains) before I realized I needed one of these adapters. Nevertheless, even without the adapter the brush picked up a lot of dust, which says a lot for the suction power of the Dyson.

I have never been this amazed by something as simple as a vacuum attachment before. This brush is like a little magic wand. Never before have I been able to vacuum my TVs, computers, blinds, curtains, and just about anything with this much ease. The brush not only increased my respect and admiration for the Dyson itself but also for the ingenious minds behind the development of it.

I highly recommend this product to anyone who owns a Dyson vacuum....more info
  • Good but not great.
I really like how it works with all my electronics ie. laptop, TV etc, but it's not really strong enough to work well on the blinds. This product works well on delicate things, but I wouldn't buy it for any heavy duty cleaning. Hope this helps....more info

  • Five stars, but with caveats...
First off let me say that YES - this is the Dyson soft dusting brush even though Amazon doesn't seem to have a picture up for some reason. I was a bit nervous when I ordered the attachment because there was a listing with picture but "out of stock," and then this one, which was in stock but no picture. Unfortunately when I ordered it there were no reviews to confirm the product was what I thought. However when it arrived it was the correct item, so it all turned out ok.

    How it works -
The attachment is around a foot long (including bristles); it is a lint remover brush-head surrounded by soft plastic bristles. The red area is the lint remover (think of the dog hair removal brushes your mom uses); it has two suction holes - one at the head, one at the base - which allow the swept dust to be sucked into the vacuum while running. When both holes are covered (such as when doing a large, flat surface) the suction is as powerful as any of the other Dyson wand attachments. When only one hole is covered or there is a break in the surface between the two holes (smaller surfaces or blinds) the suction is still strong, but not quite as "vice-like." The idea behind the brush is that the vacuum action will suck in all the dust instead of allowing it to escape into the air. In this regard, the Dyson seems to leave a much smaller "dust footprint" than manual dusters because it does not cause dust clouds. As with all Dyson wand attachments, the dusting brush comes with two adapters which plug straight into the wand which allow it to be used with any type of Dyson vacuum.

    Pros and Cons -
I bought the dusting attachment because the brush heads that came with the DC17 weren't cutting it for what I needed. They were either too small or did not form a tight enough seal around the areas I was dusting to pick up all the dust and debris. I live in an old house with old fashion plaster walls and with three furry dogs, so there is constantly dust in the house.

The Dusting Brush is very good for handling things like blinds and large, flat surfaces, but not quite as well in the little hard to reach spots or thin areas. So the brush will get all the dust on the entertainment center, floor-standing speakers, coffee table, etc, however the rear speaker stand, some furniture molding, tight corners - will all require touch-up even after vacuuming. You can pretty much forget dusting behind furniture or in awkward places. Even if you're able to get the brush to fit, chances are you won't form a tight enough seal around the object you're trying to dust for the vacuum action to work. You're still better off using a crevice tool - or no attachment at all.

Also, I purchased this attachment specifically because of the picture of the brush taking the dust off of the TV. The hard surfaces of the dusting brush are prevented from touching your wares only by way of padding. In other words, the suction holes (which are ringed by plastic) are only kept apart from the surface by the padding within the red lint dusting material. If your Dyson "really sucks" (sorry, couldn't think of another way to put it), you may be like me and get nervous about putting this attachment near anything that scratches easily. This brush would be fine for CRT tube TVs or even LCDs, but I think I'm still going to wipe down my plasma manually with a soft rag.

Reading what I've written so far, my review sounds very negative, but I don't want to leave you with that impression. The dusting brush is extremely useful and I would go so far as to say that I hope that Dyson would consider including it as a standard attachment in their future vacuums. However I think most people who look at the Dyson attachments already know what the attachments *can do*, and want to know about what they *can't do*. I do not regret my purchase, and I would definitely make it again because I do use the heck out of the brush, but I'm not using it for the same reasons I had mentally in my head when I purchased it.

  • Get it ONLY if you need it!
I think this attachment is "good enough" and I do use it about once a month for heavy dusting around the house. It is not, however, the super-useful dusting brush I thought I was getting.

The brush does NOT dust flat surfaces well. Not only does it kind of push a little of the dust ahead of the bristles, never really sucking it up and leaving "streaks", but it has the tendency to suction itself down HARD to the flat surface. This gets annoying. Because of this, I do not use it for all-over flat surface dusting.

What the duster is GREAT for are blinds, ceiling fans and the curves of wood moulding. We have a big black dog and do need to dust blinds & fans more often. A few swipes and the job is done. Same thing when I dust the furniture crevices and mouldings - the duster works great.

I do not like to dust base boards with it because somehow as the brush drags along, it seems to statically charge the carpet and the baseboard and any stray dog hairs are suddenly attracted to the baseboard I JUST dusted. I use the regular onboard vacuum brush for baseboards. I can't explain this frustrating phenomena but it might just be me and my house!

Lastly, the bristles bend out of shape very easily and you can end up with the brush looking more like a troll doll. Surprisingly this makes dusting flat surfaces a little easier. Unfortunately the bristles can bend so far up, they don't touch ANY surface while you are dusting, leaving dust behind. I store mine flat in it's own box, which is a pain, to ensure the bristles don't bend so badly that I cannot coax them back into shape.

If you're like me and just HAD to have it, see if you can find it on sale. Then you won't mind so much when you end up using the onboard brush 95% of the time to dust....more info

I've been waiting patiently for this item to be released, and now I have it. Wonderful product. Does exactly what it is supposed to, and more. The bristles are soft so you can get under edges of things, and it pulls up dust like a magnet. Why scatter dust when you can suck it up and get it out of your house? Make that Dyson of yours work even more efficiently than ever. Love it!...more info
