Product Description

Seventh Generation Chlorine Free Baby Wipes are made with your baby, and your environment, in mind. Unlike conventional baby wipes, Seventh Generation Wipes are not bleached with chlorine, and don't contain alcohol, fragrance, or synthetic ingredients that may irritate baby's sensitive skin.

Completely Natural Cleaning for Your Baby
Every caregiver wants what's best for their children and the world they will grow up in. Studies show that children are disproportionately affected by daily exposures to toxic chemicals. But caregivers often had to choose between products that worked and products that were healthy for their baby and the planet. Until now.

When chlorine and chlorine derivatives are used in industrial processes (such as bleaching paper and wood pulp), they produce substances called chlorinated hydrocarbons, which persist in the environment, accumulate in animals and people, and can be toxic to human and environmental health. The production of chlorine can also release the toxic metal mercury into the environment.

These baby wipes are made with all-natural ingredients, including water, Polysorbate 20 (a cleansing agent derived from sugar), glycerin (soothes and cleanses skin, vegetable-oil derived), citric acid (provides stability and pH balance), potassium sorbate (a natural preservative), aloe barbadensis gel (helps heal skin), and tocopherol acetate (Vitamin E acetate, helps heal skin).

Hypo-allergenic, whitened without chlorine bleach, unscented, and alcohol free, Seventh Generation Chlorine Free Baby Wipes offer are perfect for around the house.

About Seventh Generation

Our one-at-a-time pop up dispenser is convenient and easy to use.

Customer Reviews:

  • The best diaper wipes I've used
These wipes are the most gentle and natural, and they feel good on our son's skin. I also love that there is no scent to speak of - other brands smell so harsh and artificial to me. I think they even help prevent diaper rash, because we don't have much problem with that as long as we change him often enough. I can't stand to use any other wipes....more info
  • Soft and Cheap Baby Wipes ever!
    * Very gentle to baby skin.
    * Any stains on the skin is easily removed.
    * I love the smell of the wipes.
    * 960 wipes for $39.49, that is really cheap....more info
  • Great wipes
I like these wipes for a few simple reasons: they clean well, they are not harsh on my son's skin, and they do not have a strong scent. All the environmental aspects are also good but ultimately I think they get the job done in an environmentally and baby safe way....more info
  • Chlorine Free wipes
I used to use cloth diapers, then I switched at 20 months to seventh generation. I just love their all natural products. It feels good to not be putting all the chemicals on my little ones skin. I love these wipes and I love the portablity of them....more info
  • Stinky!
I didn't buy these on Amazon but at ToysRUs (for much more money), but I had to come on here and review them because they SMELL.

I bought them for the ingredients because the chemicals they put in baby wipes are atrocious, but these stink so bad I'm going to have trouble going through all of them. They smell almost like citrus, but it's a highly processed chemical-like smell. I can't find anything on the ingredient list that would make it smell like this.

I'm going to try to put some lavender essential oil on these to see if it makes them smell better, hopefully it will work!...more info
  • Hate them! Caused Rashes!!!
I ordered them (all 12 packs of them) because of the great reviews from amazon, plus it's the "green" thing to do. However, the wipes smell horrible, and my 2-week-old daughter developed diaper rashes from the wipes. For the first two weeks, we were using wet VIVA paper towels as baby wipes (per hospital's instructions) and my LO was fine. The day I switched to the 7th Gen baby wipes, she got diaper rashes. I continued to use the wipes thinking the rashes would go away, and she would get used to it...but it didn't. Now I'm stuck with 11 packs of smelly wipes that I have to throw away. Now I use Lansinoh wipes for breastfed babies. ...more info
  • Sturdy and environmentally friendly
These are awesome baby wipes! They are great for cleaning up diaper messes. I also use them for disposable cleaning cloths, as they are strong enough to be rinsed out and reused a few times (ie. wiping up juice off the kitchen floor, rinse, wring, repeat until juice is cleaned up, then toss)....more info
  • Seventh Gen Baby Wipes
Great product! Arrived promptly as always. We have been using them for two years and two kids. Can't reccommend more highly....more info
  • These aren't for babies with sensitive skin....
I bought these repeatedly thinking that they must be the best because they are chlorine free and unscented. So I used these on my daughter from day one, with the first ten days rinsing per the doc's recommendation. How little did I know, in that the following two months my daughter would have the most persistent diaper rash from these wipes. I'd switch to cloth to wipes and heavy creams to get rid of the rash. And then I'd be out and start using these again, and not linking the rash and these wipes together (baby brain). Once we switched to Pampers Sensitves we've not have a diaper rash since. I tortured my poor daughter with a horrid rash just because of these wipes. So yes they are strong, smell wierd, but earth friendly, just not always baby friendly....more info
  • This is great!
We have been using this for 10 months so far for our baby. This works great. Each wipe is of good size so no mess. Will recommend for others! The price may be little bit more expensive than other wipes though....more info
  • Don't hesitate to purchase this item!
I am on baby number 3 (now 2 years old) and this is the first child with which I have used eco-friendly products. So I have experienced all the Pampers, Huggies, etc. This is the only line that I have consistantly recommended. I use the diapers as well and...well...for the first time, I almost NEVER have to use diaper creams! They say it is from the removal of the chemicals. I don't care. I just love my daughter not having to be slathered in white cream all the time. As far as the wipe, they are moist enough to clean stuck on "stuff" and thick enough to keep your hands clean in the process. They are not as luxurious as some of the other brands but they work and work well. Heaven knows my daughter has never complained! I HIGHLY recommend both these wipes and the diaper line....more info
  • Weird Smell but NO RASH!
Ever since my son was born we have struggled trying to find a wipe that won't give him a rash! Once he even started bleeding from the drying chemicals in one particular wipe. Since he was four months old we have stopped using wipes all together and have just been using washcloths. A friend told me about these and I HAD seen then in the store but was hesitant to buy them because a lot of wipes say they are "pure" or "organic" or whatever but he would develop a rash. I finally gave in and bought some and we have been using them a week and NO RASH! I don't feel like they clean him as well as a washcloth when he has a "dirty" diaper and the smell is a little......old? i don't know, but it is nice to not have wet washcloths in my diaper bag!...more info
  • No Diaper Rash
This product is not only good for the earth, but my baby has had no issues with diaper rash. It doesn't have a strong smell and is not soaked in liquid, so not freezing to their touch. Of course, one of the most important does a great job with the cleanup....more info
  • Great wipes!
We tried these on the advice of a few friends because another brand suddenly started giving my 2 year old hives on his hands and face (if he touched them he got hives!). These wipes do not give him hives, but they are also wonderfully soft and thick. Aside from the environmental implications of the Chlorine Free production, we are able to use fewer of them per diaper change than we could with the others...which is great for the environment and our wallets too!...more info
  • Very Good Wipe but not perfect
These were the first "eco" wipes I used and after reading some of the more negative reviews I was a bit nervous.

I have previously used huggies, pampers sensitive and my favorite pampers swipers. I do think that these wipes are good. They aren't too scratchy. They don't tear. They aren't too thin. They get the job done.

I have a 1 year old and a 2 year old both still in diapers so I use them frequently. I absolutley loved the pampers swipers-until I found out they had awful chemicals on them-which made me switch to these.

Compared to Pampers Swipers they are a TINY bit thinner and not quite as soft but they're okay.

I do like them a lot better compared to pampers sensitive, these are more durable.

While not nearly as thick as the huggies, they are quite a bit softer.

4 Stars because I wish they were as soft and thick as the Swipers but to me the trade off is better to avoid the chemicals....more info
  • safest wipes out there
No alcohol, no bleach/chlorine. Soft and more eco-friendly. They are the only wipes I would use on my baby. ...more info
  • Only wipes I'd use
I can rest assured that they aren't leaving harmful or irritating chemicals on my baby's sensitive skin....more info
  • Very happy with these wipes.
For a safe, chlorine-free baby wipe, these work very well. It is best to use two wipes for poo's (sorry for the too-much-info). So, at times, you can tend to feel like you are using too many. However, purchasing them through Amazon helps our budget and the wipes are worth it. Our baby has not had any allergic reaction and, in the 20 mos. of using them, they have proven to be quite safe. In addition to using them for our baby, they come in handy for cleaning quick household messes. I recommend these wipes and feel good about using them. ...more info
  • Works great
I finally go away from using conventional wipes becasue of the research I did at home about thier ingredients. These wipes work great. No complaints. I have been using them now for about 4 months on my twins....more info
My son has very sensitive skin and these wipes are great. He has no problems with rashes when I use them, and the packaging makes them very easy to carry in his diaper bag....more info
I was pleasantly surprised by these. I much prefer them to the unscented Target brand wipes. They seem to clean better, and don't tear or rip. I highly recommend these as well as the diapers. My son's tush is very sensitive and he is very prone to diaper rash - he seems to tolerate the Seventh Generation products much better that any name brand or store brand....more info
My son has ultra sensitve skin and 7th Generation has worked wonders on mys sons skin. I highly reccomend this product. I mean they're chlorine/alcohal free. That's already better than the leading brand. I buy the diapers and wipes online here and save a lot of money. If you do buy the box of 920 wipes just keep in mind...these will last forever! I buy this box every 3rd month. ...more info
  • quality of product has gone down, as with the economy
I absolutely agree with zinnia829, I've been using these for the past 9 months since my son was born & didn't have any problems with them (albeit, I use a ton of Cali baby moisturizer to prevent diaper rash), but the recent batch is of such low quality- thinner & drier, the sheets separate as I'm pulling them out of my wipe warmer, then I have to open up the warmer to thread through a new sheet- several times a day with a baby who's trying to rolling out of the changing table every time ! These wipes just don't remove poo, it's so bad that sometimes I have to use my fingers cause I can't get to the sink to wet the wipes. I need to stop my subscribe & save- cause in the end I'm not saving any time or money with these....more info
  • love this product !
Love this product .. everyone I know that has tried this product loves it also. ...more info
  • Great item.
These wipes are well worth the extra money. We have been using these for our second child since learning about them. They are soft to the touch and not too soapy. Our first child had numerous diaper rashes that were irritated further by the more commercial big name brands. Since using these wipes we have had no "burn" feeling issues for either of our children. And the older child will tell you she wants these wipes only. ...more info
I love these wipes. No, they don't smell great...but neither does the stuff you're cleaning up, right? The scent doesn't stick with them. They stay moist in a warmer and work well. My daughter never gets diaper rash when these wipes are used with the SG chlorine free diapers, but she does get a rash if daycare accidently uses a different wipe! I can also use them on my son's face for clean up, when he used to get a rash whenever other wipes were used. I highly recommend them for kids with sensitive skin!...more info
  • baby wipes
These are the best wipes I have ever used, there is no ammonia or chlorine in the wipes, therefore they are more gentle, and do not cause any type of rash ...more info
  • Great wipes!!!
I have been using this wipes since my baby was born and I love them. She turned out being with very sensitive skin but she never got irritated from this wipes - even as a newborn baby. ...more info
  • great for "big kid" wipe ups
These are non irritating, strong, unscented, pure ingredient wipes. They are great for babies, kids or adults as a no soap, no water quick face or hand wash, especially in the summer. Of course they are excellent for adult "bottoms" as well as baby "bottoms". Worth the extra cost over others because of the unscented, chlorine free, ingredient purity....more info
  • Great Wipes, But Reformulated Between 2008 (Made in UK) and 2009 (Made in USA)
I ordered these wipes from Amazon in mid 2008 and again in early 2009, but the wipes were different. See Customer Images.

In 2008, the front of the package was beige and had "seventh GENERATION baby" on the "leaf" logo. The text on the front was in English only; the back was stamped "MADE IN UK." The ingredients were "Water, Cetyl Hydroxyethylcellulose (plant-derived cleaning agent), Glycerin (vegetable oil derived), Citric Acid (provides stability and pH balance), Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Tocopheryl Acetate (vitamin E acetate), Potassium Sorbate and Sodium Benzoate (food-grade preservatives)." As of 2009, the weight of the package was 1 pound (although it's possible that moisture is slowly leaking out).

In 2009, the front of the package was blue and gray, and had just "seventh GENERATION" on the "leaf" logo on the front. The opening to access the wipes is smaller than in 2008. The text on the front was in English and French; the back was stamped "MADE IN USA." The ingredients were "Water, Polysorbate 20 (cleansing agent derived from sugar), Glycerin (soothes and cleanses skin, vegetable oil derived), Citric acid (provides stability & pH balance), Potassium sorbate (a natural preservative), Aloe Barbadensis Gel (helps heal skin), Tocopherol acetate (Vitamin E acetate, helps heal skin)." These ingredients were rated 2 (a "low" hazard) on a cosmetic safety database on the Web. The weight of the package was 1-1/4 pounds when received.

Although both packages said "unscented," there was actually a slight odor perhaps from the citric acid and aloe. We've used both the 2008/UK and the 2009/US versions without problems like diaper rash. Buy these from!...more info
  • don't work like they used to
I don't know what it is about this recent batch that I received. They seem old--drier than usual. And even when I spritz extra water on, they just don't seem to clean well at all. I can not get rid of a strong urine smell, for example, and cleaning after a soiled diaper is particularly frustrating. I see little advantage of these over a wet rag. The only good thing about them is that I will not have to grumble about them for long. I seem to be using at least 2-3 times as many wipes, trying to get bottoms clean. I rarely take the time to write reviews, but I have not been happy with this product and I will be canceling my subscription. ...more info
  • Seventh Generation Baby Wipes
I have used these wipes for 6 months and will continue to do so until my baby is out of diapers. Works great, no weird smell... we like them....more info
  • The Best Baby Wipes
I love these wipes and keep re-ordering them. They are
preservative free and contain no bleach or harmful additives.
Purchasing them from Amazon is an added plus because the price
    cannot be beat....more info
  • Perfect wipes
No harsh chemicals, clean ingredients. Does what it's designed to do 100%. Definitely recommended....more info
  • excellent product
I use the "baby" wipes for their intended purpose AND:
    removing makeup
wiping soapscum off the tub and shower walls
    cleaning the sink

It's amazing how gunk just wipes off so easily....more info
  • These wipes are GREAT!
I used these wipes when my four year old was born and now with my 2 month old. I think it's great to have a wipe without chemicals. I use the refill package not the plastic container. I found they dried out quicker in the plastic container....more info
  • Gentle, Effective
Gets the job done with zero irritation - great price, too. My favorite out of the 4 other brands that I tried. Buy in bulk and keep under the bed!...more info
  • Works fine - over priced
With 3 kids still in diapers, we go through a lot of wipes. These works quite well. I'd rate it higher but I think Seventh Generation and other 'natural' consumer product makers are ripping off consumers. Of the online retailers, Amazon seems to have the best prices if you use subscribe and save....more info
  • Excellent wipes
This is a great product. We try to buy as much organic without all the chemicals and feel this is a safe product for baby skin. Amazon was the cheapest place to purchase and free shipping is great. Amazon shipped them to England (military) for our new grandson!! ...more info
  • Bye Bye Diaper Rash!
I began using the Seventh Generation diapers because they do not contain chlorine bleach. I wanted a diaper that was safe for my baby and a little better for the environment. It made sense to use the wipes, too. The Subscribe & Save program makes it so convenient and affordable to get these great diapers and wipes. The wipes are soft and gentle enough to use on my baby's face for food mess. The diapers even last all night (12 hours) for my 15-month-old - something typical grocery store brands never did. Since we switched to Seventh Generation, he has not had one diaper rash! Now that we have gone chemical-free with Seventh Generation, I am amazed at how badly my son's skin reacts to typical wipes and diapers. My mom has a few name-brand wipes and diapers left and when we used them yesterday, my little guy broke out in red bumps and had serious diaper rash in one hour just from a wet (not dirty) diaper and being cleaned with a regular wipe. If you are looking for a more eco-friendly, chemical-free alternative, the Seventh Generation are great wipes and diapers for a great price....more info
  • baby wipes
lets save the environment for our children and this is a great way to do it without the sacrifice of changing your style. they work like all other wipes and are great for sensitive skin as well....more info
  • A chlorine free option
I used these wipes for a very long time now.
I use them becuase I think they are healthier to my kids skin then other options I know on the market.
In general I am pleased with it.
