- An acquired taste
Originally I hated this cereal becaused it tasted so bland and powdery when hot or cold. However, after eating it three times, I have strangely learned to love it and now I've been eating it for one month.
So this was an acquired taste for me that I will definitely order again when I get tired of my steel cut oatmeal. If you are not use to eating healthy foods, however, you might dislike this cereal and never acquire a taste for it....more info
I read a lot about different brands of muesli until finally deciding on this. Excellent - right amount of crunchiness & chewiness. Very easy to make. Great product!...more info
- The ideal diabetic food
I like it hot or cold and think it is the best food for diabetics. Amazon's price is the cheapest and I will buy again. ...more info
This product is extremely similar to Muesli I had while visiting Europe earlier this year. It is a wholesome and tasty addition to my morning....more info
i put bob's muesli in a container with orange juice and let it soak-usually over night. works great.
and when i travel, i take a package with me along with a thermos and do the same thing-no more problems with the the change in diet that i usually experience when traveling overseas!
We get this product shipped to us every month. We usually don't have much left by the time the new shipment arrives. We really like this muesli. It's not sweet; it just tastes like muesli should. We put it on top of other cereal. Would definately recommend it to anyone who likes/wants to include some healthy food in their diet....more info
- Great breakfast food +

- Good & healthy
I mix 2 or 3 small scoops with about a cup of vanilla yogurt, a small handful of dried cranberries and the same of slivered almonds, when I'm on my way into the shower, and by the time I'm ready for breakfast, the meusli has absorbed a lot of the moisture from the yogurt & become easier to chew & digest. Very good! ...more info
- A great winter breakfast
Bob's Red Mill Muesli has been my winter breakfast standard for years. I love it, and after my local grocery store stopped carrying it I was glad to find it on amazon.
Cooking it requires some care. There are seeds in it that some people (including myself) find objectionably hard, but if you cook it carefully, with plenty of water, that problem goes away. My technique for cooking it is to put the muesli in the pot first, then add water, about 50% more water than the instructions call for and then to cook at covered at a very low heat. I use maple syrup for sweetening. It's delicious!...more info
- saves me from spending at the grocery
This is the best. I mix it with soy milk and let it soak. I also add some organic coconut flakes. A small bowl keeps me from needing lunch for 6 hours. I love the subscription because it keeps me from spending money on other things at the grocery store when I just really only needed to pick up cereal...plus the subscription price is way cheaper! When your body is given real nutrients it doesn't beg you to keep feeding it! I am taking a bag on vacation! Stop eating garbage like white bread bagels and sugar cereals, and you will change your life....more info
- More good stuff from Bob's Red Mill
I love this stuff. Sometimes I mix it with cooked quinoa, soy milk, and cinnamon, stick it in the nuker, and have a yummy breakfast treat. You can also have it by itself, hot or cold. It's healthy and it tastes good, what more could you ask for. ...more info
- I love this stuff !!!!!!!
I think this stuff is great with milk. I haven't tried it as a hot cereal but I will eventually. I have been dieting and this muesli really knocks down my appetite. I love the taste of all the many things in this muesli. This is a definite winner in my book !!!!...more info
- love this product
This is my favorite muesli product - i eat it with yogurt and fruit almost everyday for lunch. Having lived in Switzerland, I find this product to be the most like what I was used to eating there....more info
- Excellent taste and quality
This is a great cereal that tastes good and provides good nutrition. I like it, because it keeps me from getting too hungry before lunch. It's a hearty cereal, and I can eat less of this cereal, unlike some store brands, yet I feel satisfied....more info
- Mighty Muesli
Very good price on a healthy product. The convenience of having it shipped to my door is great. ...more info
- super product
After living overseas for half a year, my family got used to eating real British muesli, and Bob's Red Mill is the best you can find here in the states, authentic muesli at an unbeatable price....more info
- Good value for money

- Delicious & Convenient
What a great product! It's a nice hearty breakfast (or light lunch or dinner for that matter) when mixed with a little lowfat milk. Or mix it with yogurt for more pronounced flavor. Either way it is healthy, tasty & convenient....more info
- Good muesli, good price
Good value at $25 for 4X40 oz. I like this better than most of the products in the traditional supermarkets. Great ingredients. Add Sunsweet prunes you can get at Sams Club very inexpensively, sprinkle on some of the salt-free, anti-oxidant trail-mix-type products you can buy at Trader Joes and you have a great breakfast!...more info
- Great Breakfast
I first had this cold in Bellagio Hotel in Vegas with bananas and apple slices in it. I eat 1/2 cup od muesli with 3/4 cup of soy milk and cut up a banana and let it sit in the frig over night. Its a great breakfast and VERY good for you. Keeps you full til lunch!!!!...more info
- Filling Breakfast
This is one of hubby's favorites. We add nuts, extra raisins, craisins, and shredded coconut to a bagful in advance so it is ready to go. We soak in milk or orange juice before eating. ...more info
- Does what its supposed to.
Good product that keeps you regular -- isn't that what all those grains are supposed to do? The taste of the sunflower seeds can be a bit over-powering times. Good hot or cold. Enjoyable if you like lots of grain in the morning. ...more info
- Tastes horrible, I would not buy this again, ever.
It smells bland and tastes just plain bad. I regularly eat unsweetened and unflavored rolled oats but was unprepared for how bad these tasted. The raisins were old and dry and there seems to be sand-like stuff in there. I had to be careful when I bit down because I could never be sure when there's sand in the bite It took.
I depend on the feedback that Amazon buyers give on products, but wow, the feedback sure are off the mark on this product. A solid 5 stars from 72 reviews on this product? Maybe someone's stuff the polls on this one....more info
- Only Good If You Like Muesli
Let me explain why people either rate this as 5-star or 1-star. Muesli does taste like cardboard, but this good muesli tastes like good cardboard. Just kidding, but not far off the truth.
Some who rate it low perhaps are expecting granola. I know lots of people who see and taste real muesli for the first time are disappointed. It takes some getting used to. Muesli is an acquired taste, kind of like beer. This muesli would have disgusted me as someone new to muesli just as a fine Pale Ale would have tasted bitter and awful to me if it had been the first beer I had tasted!
This Bob's muesli is really good if you like real muesli (not the Kellogg's variety softened up for the American pallette.)...more info
- Please Try It
Tastes great; healthy; easy to fix. What more could you want? Not only do I give an A+ rating to Bob's Red Mill Products, but my sister worked for Bob for years and not only praises his products, but says great things about the man and his business ethics. ...more info
- great service
i purchased this product along with bob's red mill dry milk. the items are exactly the same as i find in my local supermarket, except that they come in larger sizes and are priced much lower than the supermarket charges. my order was shipped on time and arrived even earlier than i expected....more info
- good taste, and good for you
I love muesli, and this is a great one. Just be aware it contains flaxseed, which kind of overpowers all the other flavors, I like it but my husband (who typically likes muesli) didn't like it....more info
- Good Stuff
I mix this with other healthy cereal in the morning. Great deal, great for me and keeps me regular like clockwork after every meal. ...more info
- 100% All Natural is no Lie... doesn't taste that good.
First let me say I'm a health nut most of the time. I eat fat free popcorn, fat free butter, fat free cheese, I use artificial sweeteners and I get the leanest meat I can at the super market. The problem I had with this cereal is that it's way too dry and has no real flavor. If you look at the label it's 100% all natural and it tastes and feels that way. I added a bunch of artificial sweetener to my cereal and I struggled to put it down. I love the super market healthy cereals that have granola, nuts, raisins but this is for the super hearty folks I guess. I have a 1/2 of bag still and I think the rest is literally going to the birds. My honest review and I review items less than 1% of the time. I just had to post something other than a 4 or 5 star for something I just did not like.
Taste = 1.5 outta 5 / Too Bland literally tasteless
Price = 2.5 outta 5 / Good price too base taste is lacking
Recommend = No / Even a health nut has his limitations
Buy Again = No / Sorry, I can't do it!
- Best Muesli ever
This is the best Muesli I've ever found. I eat it for breakfast every day with soy milk, warmed in the microwave. MMMM good! All Bob's Red Mill products I have tried are excellent. I highly recommend them....more info

- Great m¨šesli: the kind that could actually be sold in Switzerland.
Having lived in Switzerland for several years, one of the things I missed coming to this country was the ready availability of good breakfast cereals. I have never quite understood how the sugar-filled granola stuff could ever have been mistaken as healthy and nutritious.
Since the stores in my area do not carry decent m¨šeslis (Trader Joe's has a "blueberry" m¨šesli, whose "blueberries" are actually blueberry-flavored cranberries...), I tried to order online, and ran into this product on Amazon, which I ordered based on the reviews.
It turned out to be a lucky choice. Bob's Red Mill m¨šesli is the way m¨šesli should be: a short list of ingredients (10), none of which require a degree in chemistry to understand. A mix of cereals and nuts, to which a delicious combination of dried fruit add a wonderful fruitiness and a subtle sweetness. Great with cold and warm milk, yoghurt, or as a base for a Bircher-style m¨šesli.
This m¨šesli ranks right there with some of the best stuff you can buy in Switzerland, and if you have ever had m¨šesli there, you know this is no small praise.
- Tastes like cardboard, yuck!!
I bought this product based on all the 5 star reviews. I really wanted to like it. First I had it with cold milk. Yuck, it tasted like cardboard. Then I tried it warmed up like oatmeal & added brown sugar. Still tastes like cardboard. How can anything so tasteless be loved by so many people?...more info
- Everyday for Breakfast
I eat this everyday for breakfast, always with yogurt. This is no BS stuff. There's nothing but goodness listed on the ingredients.
Some serving suggestions:
-Muesli + Yogurt + Honey
-Muesli + Yogurt + sliced, canned peaches
-Muesli + Yogurt + tablespoon preserves
Gave a bag to my mom and she has me ordering more already. She made the cookies from the recipe on the back of the bag and even those were delicious.
I keep one bag out on the counter and the other 3 in the freezer until needed. They've held up perfectly in there.
Highly recommended. ...more info
- Excellent Breakfast Food
Very filling - I like it hot better than cold. Would recommend to anyone who has been eating otameal and is looking for a change of pace....more info
This stuff is pretty tasty and pretty darn filling. When I first got my hands on some, I filled a bowl up and added milk. When I was halfway through my bowl I knew I had made to much. This stuff doesn't float like crappy fluff cereal. So when you make some, it seems like you don't have that much. When I was looking at the product I didn't see that it had raisins, but it is brimming with them. Raisin Bran's two scoops has nothing on this stuff. I really like this product and I would like to try more Bob's Red Mill products in the future. ...more info
- 10 pounds of healthy breakfast
This is the real deal. I douse it with unsweetened soy milk, and chew it up prior to my coffee so I'm only half awake at the time. If at least one of my meals is healthy, and more than palatable, good deal.
Forget the unsweetened claims, there's plenty of dried fruit. But otherwise, as a low-fat, high fiber, burn-some-calories-chewing food, it does good. I don't soak it long enough, so it is gnarly to chew up, especially when I need to eat fast to catch the bus - an adventure in the morning!
Why does the label claim servings are an ounce? That would make these 10 lbs last 160 breakfasts, I'm sure my serving is 4X bigger. I also recommend Oat Cuisine of Alameda, CA for granola....more info
- A good, but not a great muesli
For those used to great European mueslis, this product may be a mild disappointment. It has relatively high content of nuts, seeds and fruits (although can't name a percentage), which is good for flavor. It could hold its own in Europe and stay on the market in the middle of the pack, but it doesn't set itself apart.
One thing that was a little disturbing esthetically was that the grain flakes (on the oats, I believe, in particular) are marked with crinkly crease lines that made it perfectly clear they had been through some serious industrial machinery, like a stamp of some kind to flatten them out. Maybe this is standard muesli production procedure worldwide, but I've eaten a lot of mueslis and haven't run across such a blatant industrial fingerprint before. It was kind of unsettling and takes away from the illusion that you're eating an "all-natural" product. But again, this is only esthetic. If you don't look at your muesli, you won't notice it.
If you've had one of the truly great mueslis, like those made by Dorset Cereals of the UK, or even very strong second-tier mueslis by companies like Alnatura of Germany, this muesli will seem run-of-the-mill by comparison. I haven't had a better muesli in the US yet, however. I'm still looking. Until then, Bob's Red Mill is perfectly OK and gets the job done.
At the Amazon price of under $28 (March 2009), this is a pretty good bargain too. So that should also count for something. Recommended.
- Very good cereal
I purchased this on special and am very happy with the cereal. Typically I heat it with some milk for 10 mins or so... put a little butter and either brown sugar or maple syrup and it is a tastey beakfast. 5 stars from me!...more info
- Healthy Good Stuff
This is really healthy, high quality wholesome stuff. Not full of sugar, not second rate ingrediants. Rib stickin'! I highly recommend it!!!...more info
- Superman Food!
Change clothes in a phone booth? Since eating this marvelous product for three weeks, I feel like I could fly. It is just what I was searching for - none of those wimpy flakes for this Superman - just good, wholesome, satisfying energy. I would recommend this product to anyone but the Joker himself. Good eating, Commissioner!...more info
- Very high quality carbs!!
This is IT for breakfast!! I eat this for breaky everyday with westsoy organic unsweetened soymilk and fresh blueberries. I feel awesome for hours and I totally feel different if I eat something else. I am a 42 year old female, work out 2x daily, and controlling my carb intake but I was feeling tired as I was slowly losing weight comfortably. So I looked for a very high-quality low-glycemic cereal to eat before my morning workout. I eat a 1/4 cup muesli with 1/2 cup of the soymilk. This combo gives you net 17.5g carbs (23.5g minus 6g fiber)& 8.5g protein. It doesn't initially sound low carb but believe me, those carbs are worth it! OMG! what a difference in my workouts...AND I got over a weight plateau while starting to lose my tummy! Oh and all of the other great benefits each of these ingredients offers your body. TRY IT for a week and notice the difference. If you're not used to an earthier, less sugary food...you'll get used to it and will appreciate the lovely subtle flavors...and HOW you feel and LOOK!...more info
- Great with yogurt
This is really good muesli. The best way to eat it (for me at least) is to buy a nice big tub of low-fat Nancy's yogurt (or any other "real" yogurt) then mix it in a bowl with some of this muesli and a dash of fruit-flavored (some kind of berry is usually the best), sugar-free coffee syrup like Davinci or Torani. That will give you as much protein as a couple eggs, a bunch of complex carbs, low fat and no sugar. It's probably about the best breakfast you can eat and it tastes like it's terrible for you....more info

- Muesli - Natural
My hubby loves it, I have never personally eaten but the value from Amazon is astronomical compared with the store....more info
- Good... but
Some might find it a little too bird-foody for their taste. Not quite as good as Bear Naked, IMHO, but very good. Lots of small nutty elements gives it the bird food like quality, but the blend works for me....more info
