Customer Reviews:

  • Delicious!
Everyone in my family enjoys these delicious Granola bars. They are crunchy and yummy. I like mine with coffee. They are also great for snacks, while hiking or out and about.

My kids love them as a quick breakfast before school. Maybe not the healthiest breakfast, but better than none at all. There are few things you can keep on hand that everyone will eat, this seems to be one.

Quality is good and price is reasonable. Thumbs up!

  • Whole grain goodness.
Nature Valley Crunchy Granola Bars are delicious and are my treat of choice when serving my grandchildren, instead of other snacks without any nutritional value. The Oats 'N Honey version seems to work best for those under 5 years old, as there are no nuts, which, for some reason, offends my 4 year old granddaughter (she will eat around pieces of almond and the like!). Perhaps it is just something difficult for her to chew.

Yes, these bars do contain some processed sugar, however, they are definitely a healthier alternative to cookies, cakes, and rice crispies treats. Oh yes, and I like them, too! They are quite good with a cup of coffee or tea....more info
  • Nice snack inbetween meals
I'm afraid I don't have a lot of experience with granola bars. I did want something to take the edge off my hunger between meals that wasn't heavy. These are a bit dry, but very sweet.

I can understand the attraction because these contain so much fiber. The issue is that they taste so much more like candy. The amount of sugar in them worries me. There doesn't appear to be much more to these than oats.

There are two bars inside the foil. They break quite easily and have a tendency to go crumbly. I found that one packet really wasn't very satisfying. The portion is quite small. For an adult I would say two or three of these would suffice with a large glass of water.

Overall, I didn't find anything particularly attractive about this brand. I would have preferred something with a little more volume and taste other than over powering sugar....more info
  • I buy them at Sam's
My hubbie loves to take them to work for breakfast....more info
  • A classic!
I've been eating these NV Granola Bars since I was but a lad, munching away on them with orange slices at soccer games. They're timeless, and a sweet treat. Yes, they're probably not too healthy considering they have a fair bit of sugar. But in this economic climate, they're cheaper than say a Clif bar, and no less tasty.

I rarely eat these bars plain- usually I break it up into my plain yogurt with fresh fruits, or into my cereal. 5 thumbs up for a nice snack....more info
  • What more could you want?

  • Very good
These are very tasty, very crunchy and very convenient.
My husband takes them to work so he isn't tempted to eat junk food.

Quick and easy to grab when you crave a snack. Just sweet enough to satisfy. ...more info
  • Oats: A grain ... to support the people
I have been a fan of Nature Valley granola bars for years. They come in many varieties. My favorites lately have been the Pecan Crunch and Peanut Butter bars. So, I was pleased to learn that Amazon now offers the bars in their many different types.

Certainly, Oats and Honey are a classic combination. Oats go way back. Samuel Johnson included a definition of oats in his 1755 Dictionary of the English Language. I have adapted liberally from his definition for my title. Actually, Samuel Johnson said: "Oats: A grain, which in England is generally given to horses, but in Scotland appears to support the people." Little did he know that two and a half centuries later, England's colonial offspring would enthusiastically endorse oats as a food for people.

Earlier this month, I spent a week skiing in Colorado at Vail, The ticket counters were equipped with baskets of the Oats and Honey bars provided free of charge. It was a nice gesture considering the almost $100 daily ticket price. The granola bars pack nearly 100 calories for a single bar, and obviously double that for a two-bar pack.

I took the Oats bars with me skiing, but I also depend on them for hiking. An extra 200 calories is what you may need to give you enough energy to get up the last 200 feet to a mountain summit. The taste is good. They do not melt. If you get tired of the Oats, there is always a choice: Pecan, Almond, or Peanut Butter, to provide variety.

PS: Despite an assertion that the Oats and Honey bars contain high fructose corn syrup, it is not on the list of ingredients for my bars ...more info
  • Crunchy goodness!
I have loved Nature Valley Crunchy granola bars for many years. They taste great and are perfect for when hunger stricks and the next meal is still a couple hours away.
They satisfy hunger and get you some of the fiber you need each day. I love the texture and the large whole oats.
    A great granola bar!...more info

Although I am allergic to peanuts and almonds, I ordered the delicious crunch granola bars, oats and honey flavor. When they arrived in their inviting "100 percent natural, excellent source of whole grain" I could not wait to crunch down on one of these golden delicacies.

I quickly discovered that for me these bars are real wheezers. The taste committee living in my house confiscated them. The report is that they are 100 percent delicious....more info

  • My favorite granola bar!
I've tried all kinds of granola bars from all kinds of companies, and these Nature Valley oat & honey bars are my absolute favorite!

Sweet but not too sweet, crunchy but not too hard, and not all stuffed full of candy and sugar like the granola bars from other companies. I really don't like the way most granola bars these days are full of chocolate and frosting and get all sticky and gross, but Nature Valley's honey & oat bars are dry and no-nonsense.

I like to eat these bars with tea as an afternoon snack, or crumbled up over yogurt in the morning for breakfast. I also really like that there are 2 bars in each pouch so it feels like you're eating twice as much food as you really are.

  • Granola Bars
Nature Valley Crunchy Granola Bars, Oats 'n Honey have a flavor like a tasty oatmeal cookie. I really like them and they are good for you too. I suppose you could make these morsles but who has time. I highly recommend these for the fiber and nutritional value.

  • Not bad at all
These are different from your average packaged bar. Each individual package contains two thin, crunchy bars as opposed to the standard one sticky, chewy bar.

They have a great nutty taste, and are not too sweet. Perfect with a cup of tea, and one is enough... which is good, because it makes for a satisfying yet not-fattening snack.

HOWEVER, to call them "high-fiber" is beyond misleading. Each individual bar contains 1 (ONE) gram of fiber. ...more info
  • My family's favorite granola bar!
These bars have an amazing, mildy sweet and nutty flavor! The bars are very crunchy and hearty in texture and are therefore super satisfying as a snack at any time of the day! They've been around forever and I haven't found anything new that beats them yet! The Oats N Honey is our family's favorite flavor! We've tried others and always gone back to the true classic! I usually purchase ours at the local grocery store, but I am in the middle of trying to figure out if amazon offers a better deal. Try it, you'll like it!...more info
  • Healthy and tasty
I've enjoyed this product for several years, and it was very convenient for me to be able to get it in the mail from Amazon. Thank you....more info
  • Great
A great taste and a great granola bar, that is if you like hard granola bars. If you only like chewy this isn't for you. Overall, a very good product. The bars can get a little crumbly, which can be a problem if you like to eat granola bars on the go like I do....more info
  • Granola bars
These bars are very crunchy so you won't feel cheated in the chewing department. They do crumble a lot so you will make a big mess eating them, it's unavoidable. the only complaint is they can't keep them together. They begin crumbling before you even touch the package. They taste good for Granola and if it not for the mess I would prefer them over other bars....more info
  • Crunchy Goodness! Old fashioned Wholesome Oatey flavor
These were just what I expected them to be. A nice crunchy oat bar. Like an oatmeal cookie. Even though I LOVE raisins, dates etc.... there are times when you don't want bits of sticky fruit stuck in your teeth all day!

these are great for leaving in the car as they do not melt or get goey, are nice & neat to eat (although they can crumble a bit!) No stains or dirty fingers! Can you tell I have kids LOL!!

Anywways..........we like them plain with a glass of milk or better yet crumbled on top of ice cream or yogurt MmmmmmmmmmmmmmmDelish!

So IF crunchy granola is what you crave buy these & you will be delighted!
As for nutritional data you can click on Amazon's handy link by the product, but these are NOT for people on a Low carb/Low glycemic diet, unless they are taking a little "sabbatical"! LOL :)...more info
  • good crunch, a bit sweet
These have a denser oatmeal flavor than most granola bars - in a good way. The first bite makes it seem that they are not sweet enough but then that is followed up with an almost too sweet after-flavor. There is good flavor separation between the honey and the brown sugar (syrup) that is used. There are two bars in each foil and that is the serving size so you seem to get a lot of bang for the buck (180 calories). I bet it would make a great topping for baked apples . . . . . ...more info
  • Must have
These bars are a must have if you are always on the go like me! They are soo tastey and they give you good energy!...more info
  • High Fructose Corn Syrup
This is a great tasting product, however, it is unfortunately NOT an all natural product as they would lead you to believe. It is a shame that so many manufacturers have started using high fructose corn syrup in their products. Any nutritionist, particularly those dealing with diabetics, will tell you without exception what high fructose corn syrup does to elevate your blood sugar. It is a manufactured product they would have you believe is completely safe, but look at the incidence of diabetes in this country. Why is the the first ingredient the nutritionist say to completely avoid. It is worse than sugar in what it does to the blood sugar and I can't even get into the ways it helps to create obesity. Too bad, I also stopped drinking Arizona and Lipton iced tea product for the same reason. Hello, out there!! There are natural sweeteners like stevia and xlitol that are truly GOOD for you!!! Why is high fructose corn syrup actual banned in several countries, including Canada? Could it be that the pharmaceutical companies helped to develop and expand the use of this product so they could sell more drugs????? Many foreign countries that pay for universal healthcare must think so. Why else would they ban it to reduce their medical costs?? Hello FDA. Where the heck are you???...more info
  • Crunchy, Tasty
These bars are perfect to slip in a pocket or bag to take to work, workout, hike, roadtrip, whatever. I don't know anybody who doesn't love them. They are hard and crunchy, 100% natural, and taste a lot less like a candy-bar than traditional soft and gooey granola bars. Buying in bulk here on Amazon, makes a lot of sense, as they price very competitively when I compared the price to my local grocery store....more info
  • These bars are delicious!
If you're like me, you probably don't need 12 boxes of 12 of these things, but if you have a large family and they all like them, by all means check out this deal!

I was using them with my lunch, but I just couldn't take it anymore after months of eating these... Gave me heartburn a little bit. I ended up giving the rest to people I know... But, I still love these bars! I just got a little burnt out is all......more info
  • These are the best!
These granola bars are sooooo good! I eat them regularly as a quick breakfast and snack on them pretty frequently. Very tasty and reasonably healthy. And buying them in bulk from Amazon is very convenient. I wish I could have a neverending supply of these. I don't think I'll ever get tired of them. Highly recommended!!...more info
  • Cant really rate it yet....
My shipment for this item has been delayed due to a so called train derailment.I was supposed to get this item today. This is the second time within 4 years I've had this problem.I was supposed to get this within 5 days not a week or more. The only reason I am writing this here in the product description is because you CAN'T rate amazon as a seller.I think that if we were able to,I'm sure they would get some pretty bad reviews!I will update this later when my shipment finally comes in (if EVER) and rate the actual product!Has anyone else got this messge from UPS,FedEx etc?I'm pretty sure as I've looked online for the so called "train derailment"!I could have gotten this today.I mean if they are busy or something else really happened why not just SAY THAT and not some ficticious thing?I imagine I will have a hard time contacting/conversing with amazon.Hopefully I will at least get the shipping cost BACK into my account!!

  • Surprisingly good
I don't like granola, I really dislike granola bars, and my family LOVES these. Unlike other bars, they are crispy instead of soft and gooey, so they are more like a crunchy cookie. The honey flavor comes through, which is something I like. A package containing two bars is 180 calories, with about 6 grams of fat and over 20 grams of carbs - - so, not health food, but very good as an occasional treat....more info
  • Perhaps my favorite Nature Valley product so far, tasty oat flavor
Making oat bars is apparently a pretty hard thing to get right. Over the years I have tried a lot of different brands and they are often too dry, tasteless, or just plain bad tasting. But this is one good tasting whole grain (very nice that they use whole grain) oats bar.

While you probably want to have some liquid available when you eat these they are not too dry. The taste is wholesome and flavorable. And they are not too sweet at all, just perfect for me, more of a hint of sweetness. Pretty good value as well, recommended....more info
  • Mostly healthy and widely available.
One of the original "healthy" mass market bars and perhaps still one of the healthiest and tasiest despite the High Fructose Corn Syrup.

Prepackaged granola bars are convenient: they are neatly packaged in a wrapping that keeps your hands clean and the bar from melting into your bag. Plus, they keep longer than a homemade bar. The Nature Valley Oats 'n Honey bar is still one of our backpacking and snack-on-the-go staples for this reason. We also like that they are all oat and have no crisped rice fillers that many other bars have. We also use this broken up over yoghurt or over cooked fruit to add variety when camping.

One thing we did notice recently is that the ingredients list is different for same product in different packaging. Some list pecan flour and other nut flours while others dont. While all their different products may be manufactured in the same facility and cross contamination is expected, there IS a big difference as to whether actual ingredients are added to the mix.

While there may be tastier options out there and healthier options, the Nature Valley line is the most widely available and the most versatile bar.

  • Awesome wholesome, healthy treats
These granola bars are the best! Where do I begin? Nature Valley bars are 100% natural, include no high fructose corn syrup, contain a good source of whole grain, include no trans fat, and total caloric and carbohydrate intake are relatively low. These bars are perfect for breakfast or can be consumed as a snack. I'm a health nut and I approve these bars without question [and I'm pretty picky about all the information I have posted above)!!
The only minus (if anything) is that the bars are quite crunchy/hard; therefore, if you are one with sensitive teeth, you might want to break down the bars into bite size pieces or soak the bars in yogurt or milk [if necessary]. But, do yourself a favor and try Nature Valley crunchy granola bars!!...more info
  • Crunchy-lious
I am normally not a great fan of such bars, because despite all the healthy ingredients they contain hydrogentated corn syrup. Horray, this product contains no such awful ingredient. And they are very delicious. Crunchy oat with a lovely honey taste - not overtly sweet - just right. there are two servings per packet totalling 180 calories. This is a great little snack and quite filling. Although it is very moorish- so you have better have great self-control!

PS: we now order it on a regular basis, which does make it cheaper by at least $1 savings per box. ...more info
