Customer Reviews:

  • Awesome product
Love it! I just dust it on and use it like a foundation. It's light and looks natural. It matches with any skin type because of the blend of colors. Highly recommend....more info
  • none can COMPARE!!!!
I love this baked powder. I used to have acne/acne scars and this covers great. It does not make my skin more oily or drier. I have tried other brand name mineral powders to otc kinds and none can compare. Laura Geller's baked powder does not feel caky, messy, dry or cause any irritations to my skin nor does it cause me to break out. It evens out, covers any issues and just makes me look so nautural. I love this product and have been using it for years. It's worth ever penny and a try. I know you'll love it!...more info
  • Feels Light As Air
This is a great alternative to liquid/cream/mineral foundations. It has a much lighter feel on the skin than any of those products. It also does what it says it will in covering (slight) imperfections and evening out skin tone.

I found it has a tendency to darken slightly as it "warms" on the skin, so use a light hand, and if you're very fair, choose the light shade. For most complexions, however, the medium shade should work well.

Great way to feel finished without a full face of makeup!...more info
  • Not as good as BE
Coverage was not as good as BE and I would not be ordering foundation if I did not want coverage. Color was ok. I sent it back....more info
  • Laura Geller Balance N Brighten
Works pretty good, need to keep buffing for a good coverage. If you are looking for a heavy coverage this is not the item. Looks natural and I use along with the darker for a tan face. ...more info
  • Quick fix for tired skin
I have owned this product for many years. I read one review that said it was too powdery and chalky. Not so if you apply it correctly. You can go as light or heavy as you like. Use a good face brush. Easy on the swirls and you get light coverage; heavy on the swirls and you get coverage. I have found no other simple product that goes on quickly and can be used so many ways. I even use it on my EYES! PLAY with your makeup instead of trying it once and trashing it. The secret is to use it sparingly. This is a multi-tasking product. With a face brush, apply to your liking. Something to quick fix plain eyes, take a small eye makeup brush, pick out some of the light colors, lightly apply to eyes and VOILA. And you get a big bang for your buck....more info
  • good hues but kind of powdery...
I got this product for a birthday gift. I like the different tones that it has, and you get a good amount of product for the price. I don't wear a lot of makeup and was looking for something that wasn't a thick foundation to even out my skin tone. This went on a bit too powdery/chalky for my taste, but for someone who normally wears a full set of makeup it would be all right. ...more info
  • A Godsend for Rosacea Sufferers!
I have suffered from Rosacea for about 6 years and despaired of ever finding anything to cover the redness. I use BE and like those products very much, but they don't give me enough coverage to cover up the red rosacea areas. I saw Laura Geller on QVC banging the drum for this product and was highly sceptical but desperate enough to give just about anything a try. Since getting it that first time, I literally rarely leave the house without not only having this on my face but having the compact with me for touch ups (which are rarely needed - it really stays on!). I have never written a product review like this before, but I am so happy with this product I want to encourage anyone else who has redness or other issues to cover on their face to give it a try. I hope you have as much success with it as I have! (PS - I use the brush that came with the product and find that it works much better than with other brushes. Not sure why that is, but that's what works for me!)...more info
  • Very good for minimal coverage use.
I have this product in both Fair and the Regular version, they are very similar in what they do so I will speak in general terms. This product is perfect for those that just need a little oompf added to their complexion. Maybe you have a little redness or unevenness in your skin tone, if so, this will be something that you can use instead of a tinted moisturizer, to even out your skin tone. If you have more to cover than this might not be a good product for you. This product is also good for teens that may want a more finished look but don't need a lot of coverage.

If your skin is medium or darker, then get the regular. If you are any lighter than a light to medium shade than you need the fair. If you are ULTRA fair, like so fair that most foundation lines are too dark for you, I don't think that even the fair is fair enough.

One thing that I want to make clear about this product is that if you are coming out looking muddy or uneven than you are using too much. Also, if you skin feels "powdery" than you are using too much. This really should only be lightly dusted over the skin, like you would a finishing powder. Also, if you have moisture on your skin it may collect in it and appear darker than you want.

It seems a little expensive, but for how much you use, this will last a long a very long time.

I use both of them, even though I am very fair. I use the fair lightly over my skin to warm up my ivory complexion, then I use the darker shade as a bronzer and for slight contouring.

*on a little side not, this product works well for photos, and does not wash you out with the flash. ...more info
  • not the best for light Asian skin
    Three things:

    (1) This powder works well for its advertised purpose: that it's a color corrector and foundation in one. I applied it over some very red pimples and it masked them rather well. (Although, when applied with a face big brush, the color correction wasn't nearly as effective for my dark scars.)

    (2) This pressed powder is VERY powdery. Even a light swirl with my brush caused a bunch of loosened powder particles that made a small mess.

    (3) This is not the best color for light Asian skin. Even when I applied it only lightly, it was pretty clear that my neck was yellow but my face was beige. ...more info
  • LOVE this product!!!
This is one of the few products that I've bought and completely used up. I didn't love it at first, because I bought it expecting to use it as a foundation (not great coverage). Then on a whim one day, I applied it over mineral foundation and it's been love ever since. I basically just use it as a finishing powder. I take a big fluffy kabuki brush, swipe it over the top of the powder, then lightly buff it onto my face. The result is (the appearance of) perfectly smooth skin, that never looks chalky, cakey, or too matte. It doesn't look shiny or shimmery either, though. It's just perfect for someone who wants their makeup to look nicely finished, without actually looking powdery. If someone is going for extra full coverage, or a super matte finish, this is not the product for them.

Also, there's only 2 colors. They're surprisingly neutral colors, but they will not work for everyone like Laura claims. I usually wear the 2nd or 3rd lightest shade a brand offers (I'd consider myself "light to medium-light" and I use the Fair version. This product would not suit super fair porcelain ladies, in my opinion. The Regular version is not that much darker than the fair, so I'd say that shade is limited to "Medium" Caucasian, Asian or Hispanic skintones. Unfortunately, I don't think it would suit darker tones.

Overall, I think this is a great product, and worth the money. One compact lasted through 6 months of almost daily use. My sensitive skin has never had any sort of reaction to it, and I've gotten lots of compliments on my "nice skin" (which believe me, is just an illusion due to this makeup). This product cooperates nicely with other products such as primers, mineral and liquid foundations, blushes, and even MAC Fix+ spray. I really love it, and I will buy it again and again! ...more info
  • Lovely product but even Fair is too dark for my skin
I love this product for many reasons - it covers well, is easy to apply, balances my skin tone, stays matte all day - and believe me that is an incredible achievement with my very greasy skin - but (and it is a HUGE but) it is too dark for my skintone. I am usually the palest shade in a makeup range's foundation, and some manufacturers simply don't go pale enough. That is certainly the case for Laura Geller. Very sad, because I can definitely say that if they brought out a Very Fair verson of this product it would become my Holy Grail foundation.

At the moment, I can get away with using the Fair if I take the powder all the way down my neck to my collar AND use an almost white finishing powder on top - and people still comment on my tan.

Seriously ladies, if you have genuinely fair skin, then the 'fair' version of this product is unlikely to suit you....more info
