Customer Reviews:

  • Best Recovery Drink...
Think drink puts gatorade and other performance drinks to shame.. Which are loaded with high fructose corn syrup.. It is extremely refreshing and tastes great.. I drink these during my gym workouts.. I even downed one after a long night of boozing and felt alot better the next morning.. ...more info
  • Very practical, not very tasty
High nutritional value, long shelf-life, top convenience: perfect for those who are looking for all these, but not much taste. Personally, I like the pineapple version much better....more info
  • A little sour, but still good!
I might have gotten a sour batch or something. After a while though, I didn't notice it. They're still delicious though! Zico still gets the #1 spot though....more info
  • tastes like sweat
Make no mistake, this is an acquired taste. You can definitely taste the electrolyte cocktail and it's low in sugar, so only slightly sweet. It's kinda cloudy in appearance, but that's how it's supposed to be. I have tried the variety with mango and peach added, and that was nice, though I also like the plain coconut water. It's good if you're thirsty after a workout....more info
  • Taste like a bland coconut, but great for thirst quenching!
It tastes like bland coconut water, not sweet, but it does quench your thirst quickly....more info
  • Great taste
I have tried different brands of coconut water, including O.N.E., and this one is by far better tasting. You'd think all coconut water would taste the same but they don't. It's also the best option for hydration. I would never buy any other sports drink. ...more info
  • Ick!
I think it's awful and it cannot be returned! Now i've got 11 containers of this stuff, Ick!...more info
  • Better than Gatorade
I'm addicted to this stuff. Low calories and sugar, not to mention tremendous hydration qualities make this product a regular resident of my fridge....more info
  • Palatable...
Definitely an acquired taste...I reach for it mostly for the nutritional value, not for the taste. I'm a big gatorade and protein mix drinker and was looking at this as a change of pace. Probably won't buy more unless it's on sale again - and if I continue to buy into the health benefits....more info
  • Refreshing
I highly recommend this product. We have this product almost every other day after exercise or a long day. It is very refreshing and tastes good. I don't recommend coconut water mixed with other flavors because it was pretty bad. We just enjoy the plain and pure coco vita...more info
  • Refreshing and thirst quenching
This coconut water taste like it was just picked off the tree and drained from the coconut. When I am really thirsty, this quenches my thirst completely and it is not sweet. This is actually good for you because it replaces some eletrolytes that people lose when they exercise. I love it....more info
  • Only if you like a strong soap aftertaste...
I bought their variety pack Vita Coco Coconut Water Variety Pack, 11.1 Ounce Tetra Packs (Pack of 12). The flavored ones are pretty bad, but this one is absolutely the worst. Terrible product all around....more info
  • water from heaven!
For me it is the best beverage after water. If I could afford it I would drink 2 liters of Vita Coco every day. This is how good it is.
    Try it!!!...more info
  • Tastes almost like fresh coconut water
When I lived in Key West (many, many years ago), we had a coconut tree in our front yard, and the taste of fresh coconut and coconut water just can't be beat. This comes close, but not as close as the ONE brand of coconut water. Given that the prices are very similar, I'll buy the One brand from info
  • odd, canned taste - O.N.E. was better
I like the idea of coconut water, and tried this one first. I found it had an unpleasant, canned taste that I really didn't like. Not sure what could cause that, and maybe the flavored ones are OK, but it put me off. I tried the O.N.E. brand and it tasted fresh and clean, so I am sticking with that from now on.

UPDATE: I had the chance to try the Vita Coco with passion fruit - either it didn't have the same problem, or the fruit juice masked the canned taste. Anyway, it was fine and I would drink that again, it seems to be only the plain water that was bad. For that, I'm still going to stick with O.N.E....more info
  • More like Apple Juice
Though I normally love coconut water, I was very disappointed with this product. Though you can taste some coconut, it tastes as though it has been thinned with apple juice. I checked the ingredient list and apple juice does not appear (as is so common with many juices), but the flavor is undeniably present....more info
  • vita coconut
Great product at a great price. Have used the coconut water plain and in smoothies and other drinks. I wasn't sure if I like the taste of it plain at first, but now I really enjoy it. The flavored varieties are also good. I've ordered the variety pack to try different flavors....more info
  • My favorite drink ever!
This stuff is awesome. It is refreshing and just feels healthy. I think it helped me to recover from my cold faster, too. This is by far the best brand (I've tried 4 or 5 others). Even my husband loves it (he likes the peach mango, I prefer the plain coconut), and he's not even a coconut fan like I am....more info
  • refreshing drink
Vita Coco Coconut Water, 11.2-Ounce Containers (Pack of 12)
great for after and during exercise.
healthy with nothing extra added....more info
  • Nasty..............
I read the reviews which were excellent. I purchased this product and almost gagged. I am still going to try to "acquire" the taste because I have 11 of them left and don't want them to go to waste....more info
  • Great Nourishment for Athletes
I am a long-distance runner and do Bikram (Hot) yoga. Both of these activities take a lot out of me, and I used to get painful foot and leg cramps. No more after drinking such high-potassium drinks like this one. I prefer the original flavor over the other flavorings because there's nothing added--just like they drink it straight from the coconut in India, Costa Rica, or Thailand. If you're a fan of sugary drinks or Vitamin-Water, you might not enjoy this because it's a little earthy tasting. But, if you can wean yourself off the flavor of the other "enhanced" waters, this stuff will be so much better for you! ...more info
  • Pretty Good
It took me a little while to get used to the taste, but now I like drinking it. It's not so sweet like sugared drinks so it clenches my thirst even more than Gatorade. And I like the fact that it isn't carbonated like pops and sodas. AND BEST of all I can drink it knowing how good it is for my health. I'm going to order more! ...more info
  • Spoilt
The coconut water was spoilt. Maybe I just got a bad batch but I will be shopping a different brand. It does not help that I cannot return the unused
    boxes....more info
  • We love it!
We think it's like drinking fresh coconut water. The good thing is, it has a longer shelf life than the fresh kind and easier to store, too. The full price is a bit high, though....more info
  • Not recommended
I drink fresh thai/young coconut water fresh from the coconut whenever they are available in my healthfood store. This tastes nothing like it. Very unpleasant aftertaste and it creates a syrup-y saliva after consuming as though it had added sugar....more info
  • Excellent health benefits.
This is a thirst quenching drink and it is natural with great health benefits. My mother's electrolytes were messed up due to her sickness and this product helped her leg cramps go away. Her system was low on potassium.

Luckily I had some of this in my house, since I love it. ...more info
  • Perfect
I just read about the coconut water and decided to buy it for it's affect on aging skin. Turning 38 was not a very good day for me.

I looked around and could only find this brand at my local grocery store, so I bought a few flavors and decided to give it a go. Ironically, I bought them on days when I was rushing around and didn't have time to eat. I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes with my son a few years ago and noticed I can have some pretty bad crashes if I don't eat at pretty short intervals.

Anyway, I had gone a few hours without eating and drank one of the packs I bought thinking nothing of it. It was about two hours after drinking the beverage that I noticed I had not eaten anything in about four or five hours. I was not hungry and my blood sugar did not take the plunge it usually takes.

I was amazed. The very next day, I brought along some coconut water because I had a meeting and knew I was not going to be eating for awhile. The same thing happened. It helped me get through the meeting without crashing.

Now, I cannot get through the day without having my coconut water. My favorite is the pineapple. My two year old also loves it. He says, "Uhmm, good!"

I would rate this a 10 if I could just for what it does for my blood sugar.

  • Good beverage
This beverage is rather good. I find it tastes best when it is very cold. The only drawback is the price for the quantity received. I ordered a double shipment now that I realize I am not the only one in my household who enjoys it. ...more info
  • I didn't care for it
I bought this as a treat mostly for my sister-in-law, who is Indonesian. Unfortunately none of my family cared for the product. Mom and I thought it weak and I probably wanted it to be sweeter. My sister-in-law has of course had the real thing fresh from the coconut but she says she knows where to get something she prefers to this particular product.

The little juice-boxes with pull-off openings were extremely keen. ...more info
  • Vita Coco- Delicious!
I was skeptical when I was first told of coconut water by a friend, I couldn't imagine it was a hydrating as she made it out to be. I've tried all of the functional beverages with added electrolytes etc. and found them all to be sub par- I figured coco water was a gimmick.

I stand corrected. Suffering thru a horrible flu last Christmas I was dehydrated beyond belief. I dranks tons of water and just couldn't quench my thirst. While in my local Wholefoods I came across Vita Coco. One little pack and I swear to you I felt like I had drank a liter of water out of an aquafer. I promise you, you instantly feel hydrated and fresh. I drink regularly and use it as a pick me up when tired. My family, friends and boyfriend are all fans now and I was pleasantly surprised to see it on subscrition at Amazon. I get 2 cases a month. I promise- you won't be disappointed! ...more info
  • Light, refreshing, not too sweet
This is a refreshing and convenient drink that is great for on the go and tasty either at room temp or cold. Subscription is convenient, of course, but the best thing is that this is one commercially available coconut drink that does not have a lot of unhealthy additives. We all love it in our house!...more info
  • Coconut Water
I love coconut water and have had to take a machete to lop off the top to get to it. This is good. It is almost as good as the O.N.E. Coconut Water, 11-Ounce Aseptic Containers (Pack of 12) also sold on Amazon. It has a very natural taste as if it has never been in a container. Read the product features above and you can see not only is this product all natural, but good for you. It will quench your thirst, hydrate you and help promote smoother, more hydrated skin. I would drink it again, but for coconut water, I prefer the other brand but this comes in a very close second!...more info
  • Even my Husband likes it
My husband is very finickly when it comes to healthy drinks or food. He loves this coconut water though and is using it to cut back on his pop intake. It hydrates the body and tastes so good. ...more info
  • The next best after the real coconut
My first coconut water I was drinking straight from the coconut in the Philippines, which is very aromatic and obviously - you can in no way beat that flavour and the healthy properties of "living", unpasteurized coconut water straight from the coconut. Absolutely no processed coconut water can ever beat this.

The problem is access to fresh coconuts. In the Philippines, which even has a ministry for coconuts, they are availabe on every market and street corner, totally fresh. This is different in the US, were most coconuts are imported and therefore most are old. I tried some and did not like half of them.

If no fresh coconuts are available, this pasteurized tetrapacked drink is pretty nice. The heat of pasteurization seems to destroy the rich flavour of fresh juice straight form the coconut, but that is the price for convenience....more info

This Vitacoco is killer rehydration with poquito sugar. I don't care for the flavored versions, but if you love coconut, you'll love this product. After a long day or just some good exercise, a cold one 'll do you right! Order a couple a cases on autoship and save $$!...more info
  • love this stuff!!
reminds me of drinking straight from a coconut in mexico! delicious and great for you!! highly recommend it!!...more info
  • Refreshing, Delicious and Energizing!
VitaCoco is the next best thing if you aren't able to crack open a fresh coconut. I love it because it's a great alternative to juice drinks and I can take these little packages with me on walks and bike rides. In my opinion there is nothing as refreshing on a hot day as cool coconut water, yum!...more info
  • Throw away the other sport's drinks!
This is the first stuff that actually works for me! A lot of the other heavy salt/sugar sport drinks make me nauseous if I drink them when I get really over-heated after physical exercise. I took this in my pack on a long horseback ride and this made such a big difference! Love this stuff and when I feel hot/headachy after a long day, this stuff really makes the difference. I love over ice or in a frozen mug! I am hooked!...more info
  • Way Beyond Yummy !
This is the 3rd brand of coconut water I've ordered, and this one is the real deal ! The other 2 went back. Vita Coco is yummy, not sugary and not bitter as the last brand was.

I know it's good for my body and here's why. I went out with friends last night and had 2 rum & cokes which doesn't usually end well since I am sensitive to caffeine. Four hours later, I felt bad... jittery, rapid heartbeat, etc. I assumed it was the acidity and/or the caffeine, so I drank water with acv to lower my acidity. Didn't help. Then I drank a magnesium rich drink and that didn't help.

Then I remembered the coconut water sitting in the fridge. I drank one container and an hour later, my body felt back to normal again. I'm not suggesting buying Vita Coco as a cure for the occasional evening out :-). I am suggesting that it is so nutrient-rich that it nourishes the body quickly and in a very noticeable way. ...more info
  • Good stuff
Coconut water can be an acquired taste for a lot of people. It's a great drink though, especially for electrolyte needs during illness or post-exercise.
I've tried a lot of brands. Zico and VitaCoco are my favorites. Zico is slightly cleaner tasting, but Vita Coco tastes more like it came straight out of the coconut (which I've had quite often).
This is the real deal and quite enjoyable....more info
  • horrid
I really wanted to like this so I went into it with an open mind. The packaging is great, it is a nice label, it is easy to open.......That is about all I can say about this product that is positive.

The stuff tastes like garbage. It is salty and does not taste like coconut in the least. It has a strange almost filmy consistency. I was quite disappointed. Perhaps some of the flavored versions would be better but I doubt it. ...more info
  • Vita Coco Coconut Water
After living in Brazil and returning to the USA, I found Vita Coco and was very pleased. About 15 years ago, I started visiting Brazil and when I left, this Coconut Water was one of the things I missed the most. Now I can buy it from Vita Coco, who has excellent customer service and their packaging is great! I would recommend this product 100 per cent to everybody. It is nutritious, tastes great and you can make all kind of drinks using this water as a mixer. Thank you Vita Coco...more info
  • Real close to the original
I haven't tasted other brands, so don't know how this compares with others. But this one tasted real close to the original. Its not as sweet as home grown tender coconuts are, but not bland either. I am not an expert with nutrition, but i have heard that its good for health to have it before breakfast....more info
  • Product great, shipping system stinks
Coconut water has really benefited me in several ways. First it is a great hydrator and a container right after working in the yard really is invigorating. I recently had a bad virus and this was a wonderful soothing benefit for my sore throat. There are other benefits as well. There's a great book available about coconut water well worth buyiig. Look it up, Amazon probably has it available..

As to the shipping on the automatic system. My first order arrived quickly. I tried to up my quantity a case per month but resulted in an immediate shipment of the next month's supply plus a second order (I was able to cancel) of another month's order. I had to cancel out of the program to end the 'automatic' shipments and will have to restart it when I need more water. My daughter had the same experience and was suddenly loaded with 16 cases, a two month supply. Fortunately I'm able to help her with her over supply.

We are both hesitant to again subscribe to the automatic monthly shipping program until we are assured we won't be getting doubled up over again. We love the product, appreciate the free shipping and the bonus deals but until we can be certain we're going to get only one shipment at a time and the subsequent shipments are going to come when scheduled, we're very lery of ordering through Amazon again for this product.

  • It is an acquired taste
I used this product in smoothies and it performed fine, but I do not like drinking it alone....more info
  • Refreshing and nutritious!
I'm so glad I stumbled on this coconut water! I ride my bike in the Florida heat frequently and this has led to some serious dehydration. I do drink water (but can't drink too much since I don't want to have to worry about the bathroom when I'm in the middle of nowhere!) and I'm not into sugary junky Gatorade style drinks. I purchased a case from Amazon and signed up for the subscription, which brings the price way down compared to purchasing at my local health food store. I now drink one before I leave on any type of excursion in the sun like biking, kayaking, etc. and so far it seems to have helped. I also happen to love the taste, I find it really light and refreshing but I will caution you to try it before ordering a case of it. I've had many friends taste it and they did not see how I could even drink it! So, it's all a matter of preference... Even my 12yr old son swipes these from me, but keep in mind that we're not accustomed to sweet drinks and usually drink unsweetened iced teas or water. If you're used to sodas and sugary sports drinks, you might not like this since it has a unique and very mild taste. Personally I'm hooked on these, I think they're so refreshing and delish!...more info
  • Great alternative to fresh young coconuts or sports electryolyte drink
I am a Body Ecology Coach and the 'stars' of the Body Ecology Diet are probiotic rich, cultured foods such as Young Coconut Kefir and Cultured Vegetables.

We make the YCK (Young Coconut Kefir) from probiotic starters and the juice - the water from YOUNG coconuts. This is a very important part of the diet as many people find that it helps tremendously to help them with their sugar & carb cravings and helps to restore the gut's inner ecobalance by recolonizing the gut with healthy beneficial probiotics.

Sometimes finding fresh young white THAI coconuts is a challenge. If you do find them, like other fresh produce, they can be old and mildewy or they can cost a fortune since there is a wide range price on them (.69 cents to $5.00 EACH). Because the juice content varies between each coconut (think of a juicy apple vs a drier apple), it can take a person 1-3 fresh coconuts to make 1 quart of young coconut kefir.

That's where these wonderful pre-packaged containers full of young coconut water come in handy for those of us who love Young Coconut Kefir!

Although packaged coconut water does not taste as sweet and fresh as FRESH young coconut water, it still tastes good, is very refreshing, contains MORE electolytes (especially potassium) than any sports drink out there, is all natural and of course, is SO easy to access by pulling the 'sticky tab' back rather than cracking a hard fresh coconut by hand! Not to mention they keep longer than fresh coconuts.

Young Coconut water is a GREAT and much HEALTHIER alternative to any sports drink, juice drink full of unhealthy syrups such as high fructose corn syrup and especially sodas. They taste much better cold and is even more refreshing with some freshly squeezed lime juice in them....more info
  • I Really Like this Product
This is my first time trying Coconut Water that did not come immediately out of the coconut. I think the taste is great and very refreshing. Reviewing the other brands, someone had questioned the aluminum in the packaging of this type box. I would be very interested in other people's knowledge about this subject....more info

  • Yuck, yuck, yucky!
I have had some great coconut water. I have had it straight from the source and packaged. It is usually sweet and wonderful. This is *NOT*! This tastes like fermented juice of some sort that doesn't even resemble coconut. It's sour and bitter. I drank a couple of these hoping to get used to the taste but couldn't. I don't have anything positive to say about this drink, so 1 star it is. I am very disappointed....more info
