More Effective Than Flossing -- Without the Discomfort
Most dental professionals recommend brushing and flossing to keep your teeth and gums their healthiest. Unfortunately, a large number of Americans -- nearly 80-percent -- don't floss on a regular basis, and most studies have shown that most people find flossing to be a painful or unpleasant chore. Waterpik has created an effective alternative to flossing that feels great and is simple to use.

Pulsating Streams for Healthier Teeth and Gums
The Waterpik Ultra Cordless Dental Water Jet goes beyond flossing to keep your teeth and gums healthy and clean. Waterpik has designed the WP-450 to deliver precisely controlled pulsating streams of water pressure to remove debris and bacteria lodged deep between teeth and below the gumline. In fact, it has been shown that the WP-450 can clean three times deeper than brushing alone. In addition, it massages and stimulates the gums to improve circulation. The WP-450 helps promote strong and health gums, leaving you with a clean, fresh mouth sensation.

According to Waterpik, there are over 50 published clinical studies that show the Waterpik Dental Water Jet provides significant oral health benefits for anyone who desires healthier teeth and gums. These studies also show that the WP-450 is especially effective for those who have braces, implants, crowns, bridges, and other dental work. For these reasons, Waterpik is one of the most recommended brands by dental professionals.

Design Features and Cleaning Accessories
Oral health benefits aside, the Waterpik WP-450 is also a complete device that is loaded with lots of great features. It includes four color-coded tips:

  • Jet Tip: Provides cleaning deep between teeth and below the gumline.
  • Orthodontic Tip: Excellent for cleaning around braces.
  • Pik-Pocket Tip: Delivers extra gentle deep cleaning below the gumline.
  • Tongue Cleaner: Removes bacteria that causes bad breath.
The WP-450 also features an advanced ergonomic handle that is smaller than previous models and easier to hold. Refilling the reservoir is simple and can be completed in a snap, and since this dental water jet is rechargeable, you'll never need to buy new batteries.

  • Waterpik Ultra - not the best
Waterpik Ultra Cordless Dental Water Jet
The water container is too small. Buy a bigger model!...more info
  • Overall Review
Waterpik Ultra Cordless Dental Water Jet. I believe that the control mechanism that controls the amount of fluid to the waterpik needs to be to adjusted. Even on low, the amount of fluid squirting through the jet is to much. The pump needs to be slowed down even at low speed so the pik
tip can be brought closer to the top of the gum line. This rapid action emptys the reservoir to quickly even on low speed. ...more info
  • Not what I expected
I couldn't use on all my teeth before it ran out of water.
Maybe they all work this way, but I was not pleased with the product.
It was also very awkward to hold and move around my mouth.
I returned the item and got a refund as soon as the seller got it back.
There was nothing wrong with the seller and their service was great.
Thanks for the chance to write this review.
I'm just sorry that it didn't work for me....more info
  • not so good
it doesn't hold enough water. refill is required to clean your whole mouth. plus, the water pressure isn't all that great. it does get food out but i would rather stick w/ my non-cordless....more info
  • Waterpik
I have had this product for several weeks and so far it has been performing as expected. I had previously read reviews by others and was concerned about the constant refilling of water before the entire mouth was completely cleaned. I only need to refill it once and there is plenty of water leftover. It all depends on how fast or how slow you move the waterpik through your mouth. As for the complaints regarding the length of time it stays charged, mine is keeping the charge for one week (one person usage). I will ask my dentist at the next checkup if she can tell the difference between my flossing and using this device - any cleaner? ...more info
  • Not worth the time and money
Review for Waterpik Cordless. Bought this last year and I'm already on the second one. I called the manufacturer to replace the first one and customer service was excellent. Got my replacement unit for free in less than a week. The replacement unit stopped working as well after six months of usage. It's really a good product to rinse in between your teeth, if it would just last. The item was never dropped and only used it once a day. Save your time and money and skip this one. ...more info
  • Waterpik Ultra Cordless Water jet
This thing really works very well. My teeth and gums feel better already. Recharging is very quick and the jet power is more than adequate for my needs....more info
  • Great Product
The Waterpik Ultra Cordless was recommended by our dentist. It's lived up to the recommendation in its ease of use and efficacy. Even my young daughter likes it, so it must be a great product. I strongly recommend it....more info

Waterpik Ultra Cordless Dental Water Jet

Very happy to travel with this product! For everyday use, it does not hold enough water. It surely does the job when travelling....more info
  • Do not buy this waterpik!
I have been using it now for two months and I think that the unit is a disaster.
PROS: it's cordless, it holds a charge for many hours, it is small enough to take along if traveling.
CONS: it's jet rotates in your mouth so it is impossible to aim at a particular spot unless you hold the jet with the other hand which is rather awkward. But even then the jet easily flips and slips around in your mouth such that you need several refills to do a good cleaning.
Worse: the jet tends to jump off, spraying your face, the mirror, the bathroom, everything. It's a facial shower unit. Although by now I'm well rehearsed to use both hands to keep it in place, the jet keeps popping off and I have hardly a cleaning where I don't need to clean myself and the room up thereafter.
Also: the jet intermittently starts jerking around, or up and down, like a sledgehammer ... jerking around on your gums, even making them bleed. The solution to that is to turn the unit off and start over.
Then the on / off switch has a problem: the lightest touch turns it on or off, such that if you are cleaning, you might inadvertently turn it off or if you are done and just drying it off you might inadvertenly turn it on and once again spray everything.
I'm going to order right now a different product. ...more info
  • no way
im sorry i spent the money on this silly contraption.the resaon being when u tilt the water pik it doesnt work, hard to get to the bottom of the teeth, and especially the bottom front.save ur money and go for the electric one....more info
  • Waterpik Ultra Dental Cordless Water Jet
Performs as advertized. Does a good job and holds a charge so daily recharging is not necessary. Easy to fill, holds plenty of water. The tip has a tendency to move but can be kept in the desired direction with no problem. Excellent for travel although it is of a good size. ...more info
  • not worth the money
I recently purchased this Waterpik ultra cordless Dental cleaner. I charged it for the 16 hours and tested the water pressure. It started leaking from the bottom of the reservoir bottle. I made sure that the front of the unit was properly closed. I made sure that the reservoir was pushed in all the way. It still leaked. I was going to call the company and see what they could do, but after reading some of these reviews, I will be returning it to the store I purchased it. I never actually used it. I just tested the strenght of the water pressure and noticed the leaking right away. I am dissapointed, so I will be taking it back....more info
  • Enjoy Using It. Wish it had more power.
I purchased the Water Pic cordless to use when I am not using my Shower Flosser. The Water Pic's pressure is much less than I am used to with the Shower Flosser but it's handy when I want to use a water pic and not shower. Check out the Shower Flosser online if you want a more powerful water flosser for a very reasonable price. ...more info
  • Do Not Leave Home Without It
I bought this product for travelling purposes. It meets my needs just fine. Not too large, easy to pack, and reasonably light in weight. Easy to handle and maneuver while using. The jet is concentrated and penetratiing, giving a perfect clean and aeration, as well as gum health maintenance and preservation. The water reservoir holds only seven ounces, so you may need to refill as necessary for personal preference. I would not recommend it for home use, would be too time consuming, I'd prefer a much larger model. However, it is ideal for travelling, to which end, I use it with every satisfaction, and I do recommend it....more info
  • Didn't meet expectations
The rechargability makes this an improvement over its predecessor, and I don't even mind that the reservoir is so small, it runs out of water all the time -- if it had higher capacity, it would be too big to hold. What I hate, as another reviewer mentioned, is that the tip rotates so loosely that you can't control the stream. So the problem areas in the back of my mouth -- for which my dentist recommended a Waterpik -- aren't being cleaned. The result is a big mess, and consequently the applicance sits unused in my medicine cabinet most of the time....more info
  • Much improved over WP-360
This is a bigger unit than the WP-360 and thus holds more water in the container. The real difference is in the battery. I can easily go over a week, using it twice a day, before charging whereas the WP-360 would never last a week. I have owned 4 WP-360s and each of them stopped holding a charge after abour 3-4 months. Let's hope they solved the problem with the WP-450. I have a feeling they did. ...more info
  • Save your money
The unit is attractive looking and fits nicely in the hand, but that's the end of the good news. I agree with others about the difficulty controlling the head. The big problem, however, is the battery. After my frist unit died at 6 weeks, I contacted the company through their web site. They promptly sent a replacement. It lasted 8 weeks. I'm currently looking for a different brand....more info
  • Adequate product
Purchased this product with some apprehension due to other reviews.
Concerns included water capacity, noise, nozzle security.
Went ahead and purchased and have been pleasantly surprised.
The unit works well, nozzle turning can easily be controlled.
Pleased with product for the price. Much more convenient than the old countertop model that took up so much space and made much more noise....more info
  • Waterpik Ultra Cordless Dental Water Jet
This is a great product, portable, easy to hold and carry while travelling. I just love it...more info
  • Disappointed
Disappointed in this travel pik as I have the full size Waterpik that is over 20 years old and perfect in what it does. This one works well BUT and it is a big BUT-- the reservoir is so small that it empties before you are ready to stop using it. It should be at least 2 1/2 times the size....more info
  • Bulky
this product is very bulky to use and not very handy. Amazon kept ture to the 14 day refund and issued it in a very timely fashion. This product would work as a travel item. Too bulky for eveyday use at home....more info
  • Waterpik Ultra Cordless Dental Water Jet
The Waterpic Ultra is well made and the size makes it handy for use while travelling. However, the tip rotator is so loose so that it is practically impossible to keep it in the position intended. As soon as the tip touches the mouth the tip moves to a different position from the one chosen....more info
  • Real easy to use
I found this to be really convenient and fun to use. I ended up giving it my granddaughter (11 years old) that just got braces and she liked using it. It made having the braces not so painful....more info
  • Best cordless out there!
I highly recommend this one and I consider myself an expert on waterpiks!
The only tiny issue I have is the tank needs to be refilled often, but it's so easy to do, it's really no problem. The power is great and holds a charge for a long time. Excellent product!!!!!!!!!!!...more info
  • It is dependable!
I bough this after another brand constantly failed. I've had it at least 6 months with no problem and the batteries last long....more info
  • Waterpic Ultra
The Waterpic does fine and lasts about 10 days using it twice a day. It is more noisy than I expected. Filling the tank is a little awkward because you have to lay the pic flat in the sink. It doesn't hold quite enough water for me and I have to refill when I am 3/4 done.

Overall it is a good thing though....more info
  • Poorly designed for me
Waterpik Ultra Cordless Dental Water Jet
I have to agree with Burkhard. The tip moves so easily its impossible to keep the deep cleaning "Pik Pocket" tip pressed against the gumline to get the deep cleaning it was designed to give. Also, the on/off button should be turn off automatically when released. Trying to control the tip position, hold your head over and down in the sink, tilt the body so the fluid is around the intake tube and slide the on/off button to the position desired is fairly challenging. Plus the on button moves so easily I keep accidentally touching it when removing the tip from my mouth or getting ready to use it and spraying mouthwash in my face, on my shirt or across the room! :-) I finally wrapped a rubber band between the tip holder and the body so it wouldn't move without some effort and another over the on/off button and around the body pulling it down toward the off position so it shuts off when I stop pushing on it. All that and the small resevoir make it just too awkward for my taste. I'll stick with the wand type thank you. They have they're problems too but for me a lot less....more info
  • Excellent Water Pik
Excellent water pik; recommended by consumer reports. I had had one before, very messy and difficult to use. This one is much, much better; it's so easy and fast to use it encourages use every time I brush my teeth. I especially like the flexible gumline tip, and the easy fill....more info

  • Perfect for kids with braces
Braces makes flossing really difficult. This Waterpik eliminated 90% of the buildup around the braces and my son had his best ortho appointment ever after using this product. I highly recommend it for anyone with braces....more info
