  • Kashi GOLEAN Cereal
This cereal has it all. High protein (13gr) and high fiber (10gr). It is whole grain and it tastes good too! My husband and I both eat it, and it seems I can't keep enough of it on hand. That's why I order the pack of 6 here at Amazon....more info
  • Try it this way!
This is how I eat my kashi - in order to incorporate more coconut oil and more cinammon in my diet for my blood sugar and weight loss, etc. I melt 8 TBSPs of coconut oil in a big metal mixing bowl (1T per serving) and dump in the kashi and stir and stir till it seems to have absorbed the oil. Then I add cinammon to taste (at least 1-2 tsps) stir some more and then pour it in a pan and toast it at 350 for 10 minutes - the resulting cereal is absolutely fabulous and I like to mix it with my sugar free activia as well as milk.

It's super! and for weight loss use it as a meal replacement and you'll drop weight like a stone.

However, do not order this cereal from Amazon, as I post this they want over $4 per box. It's regularly $2.78 at my local Wal-mart.

  • Treat yourself with a great breakfast.
I was attracted to this cereal because of high fiber and protine content. I ate this cereals everyday for two weeks and noticed a significant difference in my health. I am hooked onto this cereals, especially because of great test and high fiber content. This is a much better option than trying to eat green stock vegetables or worse metamucil. :)...more info
  • Great Cereal - not so great price
This is a great cereal, but to stay competitive Amazon needs to work on thier price. Trader Joes normally has for $2.49 a box, Target has frequent sales of 2/5$. ...more info
  • Great product but overpriced at Amazon
Great product but with the ubiquitous 25% off coupons at Fresh & Easy on $20 purchases, comes out out to $2.55 per box everyday. At closer to $4 a pop from Amazon why buy unless you're a masochist or there's no F&E near you? Here's hoping Amazon gets real & lowers the price to F&E levels....more info
  • I eat Kashi everyday, but Amazon is a ripoff
Used to be a decent price on Amazon ($2.99/box), but now they've increased the price ($3.52/box), and I've discovered I can get it for $2.49/box everyday at Whole Foods. If you're near a WF, don't bother with Amazon....more info
  • healthy and good
I rarely write a review on groceries. Books are my thing. But every once in a while a product is so great that you need to tell others. This is one of those times. It's not just great cereal. It's also a perfect snack when I'm hungry and want something a little sweet, but not crazy fattening. It fills me up and it's good for me, but it also tastes good. Great product. Natural. ...more info
  • Surprising
I was pleasantly surprised. I was expecting the typical flavorless "nuts and twigs", but like the taste of this. ...more info
  • Healthy and convenient AND TOO EXPENSIVE
I checked out another reviewer's comment that this is cheaper at Whole Foods. Since that person is right, I'll buy this excellent product there now. Amazon needs to become more competitive. People are going to be checking price more in hard times....more info
  • Wallyworld LoL
This is a staple in my diet, high fiber and protein content (imo it's the best of the GoLean series health wise) and tastes great! Probably not everyones cup of tea, but would you really eat this if you weren't trying to eat healthier?

The people in the previous reviews are correct that the price isn't THAT competitive. Though with the subscription (free shipping, Prime not needed) it is pretty good, especially considering most of Kashi cereal is close to $5.

For the people who buy this at walmart and target, how often to do go to those god awful places??? I mean seriously if you drove to walmart just for cereal that's damn expensive box(es) of cereal right there. If you go to walmart every week knock yourself out on their more aggressively priced kashi and think yourself smart as you overpay for some of their other items.

Sure you could buy 10 boxes and save some money, but if you're like me you wouldn't want to waste time, gas and deal with such places like walmart....more info
  • Best High Fiber & High Protein Cereal Out There!
If you are like me and don't eat a lot of meat (I rarely eat red meat) then this is a great source of protein! Eating a lot of fiber is also a great way to stay healthy. I love this cereal and the price on Amazon is unbeatable (it sells for $3.29 at Trader Joe's) especially when it goes on sale....more info
  • Filling and lightly sweet
I avoided this cereal for what seemed like years. It looked like bird food and I imagined the taste would be the same. When I started losing weight 2 years ago I finally caved and was pleasantly surprised. It has a great mix of crunchy textures and is lightly sweet.

Best of all it is low in calories while keeping me full and satisifed. A cup is only 140 calories and yet gives you 10 grams of fiber and 13 grams of protein. Being an abid label reader I've come to appreciate how rare that is and although I've tried many other healthy cereals it's hard to find a nuritional profile that matches this one. If I eat something else in place of this I can tell the difference because the fiber and protein of this cereal keep me fuller longer than anything I have tried.

I think the one criticism of this cereal could be that the flavor is mild so I often combat this by paring it with lite flavored soy milk, berries, or other toppings. Or, if I am feeling in the mood for a more flavorful or sugary cereal like Nature's Path Organic Optimum Banana Almond 11-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 6) I will usually mix my bowl of 1/2 and 1/2 to get the best of both worlds.

Overall though this is a fantastic cereal. It is filling, crunch, and much more flavorful and sweet than one might think....more info
  • Eat it at YOUR own Risk of Breaking a Tooth
I loved it because it tasted delicious. Note the past tense as I no longer eat it. The stuff is HARD. HARD. HARD. Milk does not soften it much. But it tastes great. One morning, I poured a bowl, bit down and broke my back molar. At the time my tooth broke, I was active duty with 25 years and the military took fantastic care of my teeth (mandatory annual x-rays/mandatory annual check-ups/mandatory annual cleanings/mandatory follow-ups if there is a problem/pre-deployment check-ups, etc.). I bit down on my favorite cereal and WHOA-knew something happened. I ignored the problem and my jaw swelled. The dentist said I cracked a tooth and it had to be pulled. This was shocking as I had never had any dental problems outside a few cavities. This cereal is almost as bad as biting down on an unpopped popcorn kernel.

Eat it at your own dental risk. ...more info
  • Excellent Healthy Ceral but Lousy Amazon Price!
This is another quality, healthy Kashi cereal. It's chock full of 10g of fiber, 13g of protein, low sugar and ultra low fat at 1g per serving.
It's very tasty and healthy, easily one of the best cereals on the market...but Amazons price is Lousy.
I get all of Kashi's cereals on sale at Rite Aid here in NYC for $2.50 a box! ...more info
  • Great tasting cereal and maybe even some weight loss
This Kashi cereal is excellent. Many flavors and textures that don't compete. Trusty banana really makes this cereal stand out. Seems to have helped us lose some weight as well....more info
  • Kashi GOLEAN Cereal

  • Love the cereal... don't buy from Amazon
I bought the Kashi GOLEAN cereal from Amazon because I couldn't find it at my local grocery store the last time I went...

I really like the cereal, it was the packaging for shipping that is getting the bad review:

The boxes were all taped together with packing tape, and the tape ran accross the top of all of the boxes, rendering the resealable closing tab on the top of the box useless, as it basically had to be ripped off to get the tape off of the top of the boxes. The same thing happened along the sides, now I have 6 boxes of Kashi with half of the box ripped and destroyed, including the nutrition facts on the side....more info
  • A Better Price is Available
This is one of the best Kashi products. It is available at WalMart for much less ... at Target for less than WalMart.

I buy lots of stuff at Amazon, but they need to get their act together on this product.

  • Best breakfast food!
This is an excellent start to the day. It is slightly sweet and has excellent protein and fiber content. Go Lean keeps you full longer than other less substantial cereals and gives you a good serving of whole grains....more info
  • Tastes good and good for you
When a cereal's description contains a term like "fiber twigs" you might be tempted to throw the box down and run away. In the case of Kashi GOLEAN, that would be a mistake. In an effort to eat a healthier diet, I decided to try this cereal because I was impressed by its nutritional content. What the heck, I figured, if it doesn't taste good I don't have to buy it again. I was pleasantly surprised when I tried GOLEAN and it tasted great! I was also happy at how satisfied I felt after finishing a bowl; it was filling and nutritious and gave me plenty of energy to get through the morning. It's gently sweet without tasting "sugary", and I like the crunchy texture. Kashi GOLEAN Crunch is also available (and tasty!) if you like your breakfast EXTRA crunchy. ...more info
  • High fiber and high protein
This is one of the better dry cold cereals on the market. They list a one cup serving as having 13 grams of protein and 10 grams of fiber. Six grams of sugar give it a slightly sweet taste. It has 480 mg of potassium and only 85 mg of sodium, along with 20 percent of the RDA of phosphorus. It has only limited vitamins, but I take a one-a-day supplement separately. It is listed as having 140 calories per one cup serving, mainly from protein. It will get somewhat soggy if you leave it setting in milk too long, but that is a feature of many dry cereals. It can be eaten as a dry snack, something that is not always true of dry cereals. Adding fresh fruit is optional.

One reviewer commented on the price. It does pay to shop around, but that is true with any product....more info
  • Great Product
I like this cereal for its fiber and protein content, though the taste is not that good. Golean crunch is tastier. For better taste I mix both of them in equal amount.
Yup, amazon is selling this product at higher cost. In walmart u can buy it for $2.49/box....more info
  • Go Lean Crunch is better
This cereal reminds me a bit of Sugar Smacks from my childhood (which I loved, but this is a tamer, drier version). It is OK, but Go Lean Crunch is much tastier, satisfying, and keeps me full longer. Trader Joe's has a similar version that costs a lot less. I don't think it's worth the price....more info
